Overview

The Hobbywing UBEC 10A (2-6S) V2 is a professional-grade external switching mode DC-DC voltage regulator designed specifically for RC enthusiasts who demand reliable power management across a wide range of applications. Whether you're piloting large helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, or running demanding RC car systems, this regulator draws stable DC voltage directly from your 2-6S LiPo battery and converts it to a precisely regulated output suitable for receivers, servos, and other sensitive electronic devices. With a continuous output capacity of 10 amps and peak performance reaching 20 amps, the UBEC 10A represents serious engineering for serious RC pilots and drivers across the UK and beyond.

This isn't your average voltage regulator. The Hobbywing UBEC 10A (2-6S) V2 is engineered with the kind of power delivery that separates professional-grade RC equipment from basic alternatives. If you're investing in a high-end RC helicopter, large fixed-wing aircraft, or building a competition-ready RC car UK setup, you need power regulation you can trust. The adjustable output voltage gives you flexibility to match your specific system requirements, whether you're running 5V, 6V, 7.4V, or 8.4V electronics. This level of customisation ensures your equipment receives exactly the voltage it needs—no more, no less—for optimal performance and longevity.

RC enthusiasts who have moved beyond entry-level equipment understand that power delivery is everything. A quality UBEC like this one from Hobbywing protects your investment in expensive receivers, servo controllers, and digital servos by providing clean, stable power regardless of battery voltage fluctuations. The compact 43.1 x 32.3 x 12.5mm form factor and lightweight 36g construction make it simple to integrate into tight spaces, whether you're building a custom RC vehicle or upgrading an existing system. Trust Hobbywing's reputation for reliability—the same brand trusted by professional RC pilots worldwide.

Key Features

  • External Switching Mode DC-DC Regulation — Unlike linear regulators that dissipate excess energy as heat, this switching mode design operates with superior efficiency, meaning less power wasted and more reliable operation even during extended flying or driving sessions. This is critical for large helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft where power reliability directly impacts flight safety.
  • Adjustable Output Voltage (5.0V, 6.0V, 7.4V, 8.4V) — Rather than being locked to a single voltage, this regulator allows you to select the exact output voltage your specific receiver and electronic devices require, giving you complete flexibility across different RC setups and ensuring optimal performance for each application.
  • 10 Amp Continuous / 20 Amp Peak Output — The powerful 10 amp continuous rating with 20 amp peak capability means this UBEC can handle multiple high-drain devices simultaneously, making it particularly suitable for applications with multiple servos, digital controllers, or other power-hungry electronics that would overwhelm lesser regulators.
  • Wide Input Voltage Range (6V-25.2V / 2-6S LiPo) — Compatible with any LiPo battery configuration from 2S through 6S, this regulator adapts to your battery setup without requiring different units for different voltage inputs, providing exceptional versatility whether you're flying 2S micro helicopters or 6S large-scale aircraft.
  • Compact and Lightweight Design — Weighing just 36 grams and measuring 43.1 x 32.3 x 12.5mm, this UBEC fits into confined spaces without adding significant bulk to your aircraft or vehicle, critical for weight-conscious applications where every gram impacts performance and flight time.
  • Professional Engineering for Large-Scale Applications — Specifically engineered for large helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, this regulator brings professional-grade reliability to applications where failure isn't an option and power stability directly impacts safety and performance.

Technical Performance

The Hobbywing UBEC 10A (2-6S) V2 represents serious engineering credentials backed by one of the world's leading manufacturers of RC power electronics. The switching mode architecture operates at high frequency, converting your battery's input voltage to your selected output voltage with exceptional efficiency—meaning minimal heat generation and maximum reliability even during continuous operation. With support for 2S through 6S LiPo batteries (6V to 25.2V input range), this regulator handles virtually any modern RC power system you're likely to encounter. The adjustable output voltages of 5.0V, 6.0V, 7.4V, and 8.4V cover the full spectrum of RC receiver and servo requirements, whether you're running vintage equipment or the latest digital systems. The 10 amp continuous output capability with 20 amp peak performance ensures you can drive multiple servos simultaneously without voltage sag—critical for large helicopters with multiple rotor control servos or aircraft with complex control systems. The compact form factor measuring just 43.1 x 32.3 x 12.5mm and weighing only 36 grams makes integration straightforward in tight spaces. This is the kind of power management equipment that separates reliable, long-lasting RC systems from setups prone to mysterious electrical failures. Whether you're flying fixed-wing aircraft, piloting large helicopters, or building a high-performance RC car UK system, you deserve electronics that won't let you down.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a UBEC and why do I need one for my RC helicopter or aircraft? — A UBEC (Ultimate BEC) is a voltage regulator that takes the high voltage from your main LiPo battery and converts it to lower, stable voltages suitable for your receiver, servos, and other control electronics. Rather than relying on a basic onboard BEC from your ESC (which may not provide adequate power for multiple devices or large servos), a dedicated UBEC ensures clean, regulated power that prevents voltage sag, glitches, and system failures. For large helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft with multiple servos and control systems, a dedicated UBEC is essential for reliability.
  • Can I use the UBEC 10A with my RC car, buggy, or other vehicle? — Absolutely. While this UBEC is particularly noted for suitability with large helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, the 10 amp continuous output makes it perfectly suitable for demanding RC car UK applications, RC buggies, RC crawlers, and other vehicles requiring stable power delivery to receivers, servo controllers, and digital systems. The adjustable voltage output ensures compatibility with virtually any electronic system.
  • What battery does this UBEC require? — The UBEC 10A (2-6S) V2 accepts input voltages from 6V to 25.2V, which corresponds to any LiPo battery configuration from 2S through 6S cells. Whether you're flying a small 2S helicopter or a large 6S fixed-wing aircraft, this regulator accepts your battery voltage and regulates it to your chosen output voltage (5.0V, 6.0V, 7.4V, or 8.4V).
  • How do I select the correct output voltage for my setup? — The UBEC 10A features adjustable output voltage with four standard options: 5.0V (standard for most modern receivers and servos), 6.0V (suitable for some digital servo systems), 7.4V (equivalent to a single LiPo cell, used for certain high-performance servo systems), and 8.4V (used for specific high-voltage servo applications). Consult your receiver and servo documentation to determine which voltage your equipment requires, then adjust the UBEC accordingly.
  • What's the difference between this and my ESC's built-in BEC? — Most electronic speed controllers (ESCs) include a basic BEC to power the receiver, but these onboard BECs have limited current capacity (typically 2-3 amps) and can suffer voltage sag when powering multiple servos or high-drain devices. A dedicated external UBEC like this one provides 10 amps continuous output—far more than any onboard BEC—and uses superior switching regulation technology to maintain stable voltage under load. For demanding applications, a dedicated UBEC is the professional choice.
  • Will the compact size affect power delivery? — No. The Hobbywing UBEC 10A achieves its exceptional power handling through intelligent engineering rather than size. The switching mode architecture is highly efficient, and the compact 43.1 x 32.3 x 12.5mm dimensions with just 36 grams weight make it easy to install in confined spaces without compromising performance. In fact, the efficiency of switching mode regulation means less heat generation than larger linear alternatives.
