Overview

The Traxxas Steering Blocks (Part Number TRX3636T) are premium aluminium upgrade components designed specifically for Traxxas Rustler, Stampede, and Bandit RC vehicles. These professionally engineered steering blocks represent a significant performance and aesthetic upgrade for any RC enthusiast in the UK looking to enhance their RC car's handling, durability, and visual appeal. Whether you're a seasoned basher pushing your RC vehicle to its limits or a keen hobbyist seeking to improve your model's reliability and appearance, these steering blocks deliver the quality and performance that Traxxas is renowned for in the RC car market.

Constructed from machined billet 6061-T6 aluminium and finished in eye-catching orange anodising, these steering blocks combine stunning good looks with exceptional mechanical strength. The orange-anodised finish not only provides a vibrant, professional appearance that transforms the look of your RC truck, but the anodising process also creates a protective oxide layer that resists corrosion and wear, ensuring your investment maintains its appearance through countless bashings and racing sessions. For users in the UK seeking reliable RC car upgrades that won't let them down, these Traxxas steering blocks are a trusted choice that delivers both form and function.

RC car enthusiasts understand that steering blocks are critical components that directly affect handling precision, responsiveness, and overall vehicle control. By upgrading to these Traxxas aluminium blocks from the standard plastic components, you're investing in noticeably improved steering feel, reduced play, and enhanced durability that will keep your Rustler, Stampede, or Bandit performing at its best.

Key Features

  • 6061-T6 Billet Aluminium Construction — The steering blocks are precision-machined from high-grade 6061-T6 aluminium alloy, which is the aerospace-standard material chosen for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, rigidity, and resistance to impact damage that occurs during aggressive RC driving.
  • Orange Anodised Finish — The orange anodising process creates a durable, corrosion-resistant protective coating whilst delivering a striking visual upgrade that transforms your RC vehicle's appearance and makes it stand out on the track or at the bash spot.
  • Larger 5x11mm Ball Bearings — The pack includes four high-quality 5x11mm ball bearings that are significantly larger than standard components, resulting in smoother steering response, reduced friction throughout the steering mechanism, and measurably improved longevity of the steering system.
  • Rubber Bearing Seals — Each bearing features integrated rubber seals that keep dirt, dust, and moisture out of the bearing races, making these components virtually maintenance-free and ensuring consistent performance even in challenging UK weather conditions or muddy bash environments.
  • Bolt-On Installation — The steering blocks install easily using the existing bolt holes on your Traxxas vehicle, requiring no modifications to your chassis and making this an accessible upgrade even for RC hobbyists with basic mechanical skills.
  • Enhanced Vehicle Control — By upgrading from plastic to aluminium steering blocks, you'll experience noticeably tighter steering feel, reduced play in the steering mechanism, quicker response to inputs, and improved overall handling characteristics that make your RC truck more enjoyable to drive.
  • Universal Compatibility — These steering blocks are specifically designed to fit the Traxxas Rustler, Stampede, and Bandit model ranges, providing a plug-and-play upgrade solution for owners of these popular RC vehicles.
  • Durability and Ruggedness — The aluminium construction provides superior impact resistance compared to plastic steering blocks, meaning your steering system will withstand the punishment of aggressive driving, jumps, crashes, and high-speed cornering without breaking or stripping threads.

Technical Performance

These Traxxas steering blocks represent a significant engineering step forward in RC vehicle durability and performance. The 6061-T6 aluminium material is specifically chosen because it offers excellent machinability for precision manufacturing whilst maintaining exceptional structural rigidity that directly translates to improved steering precision and control. The precision-machined billet construction ensures tight tolerances that eliminate excess play in the steering system, which is critical for responsive handling in competitive racing or high-speed bashing scenarios. The inclusion of larger 5x11mm ball bearings is particularly noteworthy because standard plastic steering block designs typically use smaller bearings; the increased bearing size reduces rolling resistance by spreading loads across a larger contact area, resulting in smoother steering inputs and less effort required to turn your RC vehicle. The rubber seals integrated into each bearing are an often-overlooked but crucial feature that protects the bearing races from contamination, meaning you won't need to disassemble and clean the steering blocks frequently as you would with unsealed bearing designs. For RC car owners in the UK who experience variable weather conditions ranging from dry tracks to muddy, wet terrain, this sealed bearing design is particularly valuable. The orange anodising process doesn't just serve an aesthetic function; the anodised oxide layer provides genuine corrosion resistance that prevents oxidation and pitting of the aluminium surface, protecting your investment against the elements. When you combine the strength of billet 6061-T6 aluminium with precision engineering, quality ball bearings, and protective anodising, you get a steering block solution that will outlast the plastic originals by a significant margin whilst delivering noticeably improved handling feel that makes your Rustler, Stampede, or Bandit more enjoyable and responsive to drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these steering blocks suitable for my Traxxas RC vehicle? — Yes, these TRX3636T steering blocks are specifically designed and engineered for Traxxas Rustler, Stampede, and Bandit model vehicles. They are direct replacements for the standard plastic steering blocks and require no modification to your chassis. Simply remove your existing steering blocks and bolt on these aluminium upgrades using the standard bolt holes. They are compatible with these three popular Traxxas short-course truck models.
  • What is the advantage of upgrading from plastic to aluminium steering blocks? — Aluminium steering blocks provide several significant advantages over plastic components. First, the 6061-T6 aluminium is substantially stronger and more impact-resistant, meaning your steering system will survive aggressive driving, jumps, and crashes without breaking. Second, the precision-machined construction creates tighter tolerances that eliminate play in the steering mechanism, resulting in noticeably more responsive and precise steering feel. Third, aluminium conducts heat more effectively than plastic, helping dissipate heat generated during sustained driving. Fourth, the included larger 5x11mm ball bearings with sealed design reduce friction and require virtually no maintenance compared to plastic blocks with unsealed bearings.
  • Do the bearings need regular maintenance? — The 5x11mm ball bearings included with these steering blocks feature integrated rubber seals that keep dirt, moisture, and debris out of the bearing races. This means these bearings are virtually maintenance-free under normal use. You won't need to disassemble, clean, or re-lubricate them frequently as you would with unsealed bearings. The sealed design is particularly valuable for RC car users in the UK who bash in muddy or wet conditions.
  • Will the orange anodised finish scratch or wear off? — The orange anodising is a durable, protective oxide layer created through an electrochemical process that chemically bonds to the aluminium surface. Unlike paint or coating that sits on top of the material, anodising is part of the aluminium itself and won't peel or flake off. Minor scratches may show the natural silver aluminium beneath, but the protective properties of the anodising remain intact. For recreational RC bashing and racing, the finish will maintain its appearance through normal use and will only show cosmetic wear over extended periods of aggressive use.
  • How difficult is installation? — Installation is straightforward and requires only basic mechanical skills and common tools. The steering blocks bolt directly onto your existing Traxxas vehicle using the standard bolt holes, requiring no chassis modifications or special equipment. Simply unbolt your old steering blocks, remove them, position the new aluminium blocks in the same location, and bolt them in place. Most users can complete the installation in 10-15 minutes per side. No special Traxxas tools are required.
  • Are these steering blocks suitable for beginners? — Yes, these steering block upgrades are suitable for RC enthusiasts of all skill levels. They are a bolt-on upgrade requiring no technical expertise to install, and they immediately improve the handling and durability of your RC vehicle without requiring you to learn new driving techniques or adjust any settings.
  • What is included with the steering blocks? — Each package includes a pair of steering blocks (left and right) finished in orange anodised 6061-T6 aluminium, plus four 5x11mm ball bearings with integrated rubber seals. You will not need any additional bearings, seals, or hardware to complete the upgrade.
