NiMH technology has been the cornerstone of RC power for decades, and this 3000mAh pack is purpose-built for surface RC applications where reliability and consistent power delivery matter. The Tamiya connector ensures straightforward compatibility with a vast range of RC models and chargers, making this an ideal choice whether you're new to the RC hobby or an experienced racer looking for a spare battery pack. At approximately 380 grams, this battery offers substantial capacity without excessive weight, making it a versatile choice for many different RC vehicles available on the market today.
Unlike LiPo batteries that require specific charging protocols and safety considerations, NiMH batteries like this Radient pack are forgiving, durable and widely compatible with legacy and modern RC equipment alike. This makes them particularly popular for ready-to-run RC kits and beginner-friendly starter systems where ease of use is paramount.
Key Features
- 7.2V Nominal Voltage with 6-Cell NiMH Chemistry — This voltage rating makes the battery compatible with standard RC car and truck platforms designed for NiMH power, ensuring you can drop this pack into your existing RC setup without any modifications or compatibility concerns.
- 3000mAh Capacity — The 3000mAh capacity provides excellent runtime for surface RC applications, giving you extended playtime before requiring a recharge, which is ideal for recreational bashers and competitive racers alike.
- Sub-C Cell Configuration — The use of larger Sub-C cells (rather than standard AA cells) provides superior current delivery, better voltage stability under load, and improved overall performance compared to smaller cell formats.
- Classic Stick Pack Design — The stick configuration fits neatly into the battery compartments of most RC cars and trucks, with a compact footprint that doesn't interfere with weight distribution or handling characteristics.
- Tamiya Connector — Pre-fitted with an industry-standard Tamiya connector, this battery works seamlessly with the vast majority of RC chargers, receivers and vehicle platforms available in the UK market, eliminating the need for adaptors or soldering.
- Black Colour Design — The professional black finish blends naturally with most RC vehicles whilst maintaining excellent visibility when marking batteries for organisation.
- Approximately 380g Weight — At 380 grams, this pack provides substantial capacity whilst remaining light enough to maintain proper weight distribution in most 1/10 and 1/23 scale RC vehicles.
- Age Recommendation 14+ — This product is recommended for users aged 14 and above, reflecting the care required when handling batteries and charging systems responsibly.
Technical Performance
The Radient NiMH 7.2V 3000mAh SC Stick Pack represents solid engineering in affordable battery technology. Built from nickel-metal hydride chemistry, this six-cell pack delivers a nominal voltage of 7.2V that remains stable throughout the discharge cycle, providing consistent power delivery to your RC motor and ESC. The use of Sub-C cells means you're getting superior performance compared to standard-sized cell formats — these larger cells can deliver higher current output whilst maintaining voltage stability, which translates to better acceleration and more responsive performance during both casual running and competitive racing scenarios. The 3000mAh capacity is substantial enough to provide extended runtime for surface RC applications, whether you're running a 1/10 scale rock crawler, short-course truck, buggy, or stadium truck. The stick configuration is ideal for vehicles with battery trays designed for traditional pack shapes, and the approximate 380-gram weight distributes well in most RC chassis designs without causing handling issues. NiMH technology is renowned for its durability and resistance to damage from over-discharge, making this battery forgiving for less experienced operators whilst still delivering the performance experienced racers demand. The Tamiya connector ensures universal compatibility with RC chargers and vehicle platforms throughout the UK RC market, from entry-level ready-to-run kits through to competition-grade setups. Construction quality is consistent with Radient's reputation as a reliable battery manufacturer, and the black casing provides protection whilst allowing easy identification of your battery pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Radient NiMH 7.2V 3000mAh battery suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. NiMH batteries like this Radient pack are ideal for beginners because they're forgiving, durable, and widely compatible with entry-level RC cars and starter systems. Unlike LiPo batteries, NiMH packs don't require sophisticated charging protocols or special safety procedures, making them perfect for those new to the RC hobby. The Tamiya connector is an industry standard, so charging and using this battery is straightforward.
- What voltage is this NiMH battery and how does it compare to other battery types? — This is a 7.2V NiMH pack, which is the standard voltage for 6-cell NiMH batteries. The 7.2V nominal voltage is slightly lower than LiPo alternatives (which run at 7.4V for 2S configurations) but the Radient battery's voltage stays more stable throughout the discharge cycle, providing consistent power delivery. NiMH batteries are also more durable and don't suffer from the same self-discharge issues as older battery technologies.
- How long will this 3000mAh battery run for? — Runtime depends on your RC vehicle's motor, ESC, driving style and terrain, but the 3000mAh capacity is substantial and will provide extended playtime for most 1/10 and 1/23 scale surface RC applications. For recreational bashing, you can typically expect 20-40 minutes of runtime depending on conditions. For competition racing with high-demand motors, runtime will be shorter.
- Is this battery compatible with my RC car? — If your RC vehicle or charger uses a Tamiya connector and is designed for 7.2V NiMH batteries, this Radient pack will be compatible. The vast majority of RC cars and trucks available in the UK market use either Tamiya or Deans connectors, and this pack is fitted with the standard Tamiya connector. Check your vehicle's manual or connector type before purchasing.
- What makes Sub-C cells better than standard cells? — Sub-C cells are physically larger than standard AA-sized cells, which allows them to deliver higher current output whilst maintaining voltage stability under load. This means better acceleration, more responsive handling, and improved performance during high-demand situations compared to packs made with smaller cell formats.
- Can I use this battery with older RC cars? — If your older RC car accepts 7.2V NiMH batteries and uses a Tamiya connector, yes, this Radient battery will work perfectly. One of the advantages of NiMH technology is its broad compatibility with legacy RC equipment. Many RC vehicles from 10+ years ago still run on 7.2V NiMH, making this an excellent option for restoring or maintaining classic models.
- How should I charge this NiMH battery? — Use any charger equipped with a Tamiya connector that supports 6-cell NiMH charging. Standard NiMH chargers available throughout the UK RC market will work with this pack. Always follow your charger manufacturer's instructions and never leave a charging battery unattended.
