Frequently Asked Questions
- Which SCX6 models is this rear output shaft and spacer compatible with? — This part is compatible with the Axial 1/6 SCX6 Jeep JLU Wrangler 4WD Rock Crawler RTR and the Axial 1/6 SCX6 Trail Honcho 4WD RTR. These are the two main models in the SCX6 range currently available in the UK market, both of which use identical drivetrain architecture and component specifications.
- Is this a replacement part or an upgrade? — This component functions as both. It is the genuine OEM rear output shaft and spacer assembly that comes factory-fitted in all SCX6 models, making it the appropriate replacement part if your existing component becomes worn or damaged. It is also listed as an optional part, meaning you can use it as an upgrade or spare if you want to maintain additional components or experiment with drivetrain modifications.
- Do I need any special tools to install this rear output shaft and spacer? — While the source documentation does not provide detailed installation instructions, as this is a precision drivetrain component, we recommend consulting the official Axial SCX6 assembly manual or contacting our experienced team at RC Model Shop for guidance on proper installation procedures. Our UK-based RC specialists can provide support to ensure correct fitment and setup.
- How long does this part typically last before needing replacement? — The longevity of the rear output shaft and spacer depends on your usage patterns and driving conditions. For weekend bashers using their SCX6 casually in gardens, this component typically lasts for many months of regular use. For competitive rock crawlers pushing their vehicles hard on technical terrain, more frequent inspection and potential replacement may be necessary. Proper maintenance, including regular cleaning and lubrication of drivetrain components, will extend the life of this part significantly.
- What should I do if my rear output shaft becomes damaged? — If you notice vibration, grinding noises, or loss of power transmission to the rear wheels, your rear output shaft or spacer may be damaged and should be replaced. This genuine Axial part will restore your SCX6 to factory performance specifications and is the recommended solution for any drivetrain issues affecting this component.
- Can I use this part on other Axial models? — This rear output shaft and spacer is specifically engineered for the SCX6 platform and is not compatible with other Axial rock crawler models. Always ensure you are purchasing the correct part number (AXI252022) for your specific model to avoid fitment issues.
