Overview

The UdiRC Metal Rear Dogbones with Metal Rear Wheel Shafts (UD1601-027) are precision-engineered replacement drivetrain components designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand durability and performance from their vehicles. Whether you're bashing through rough terrain, competing in organised races, or simply enjoying high-speed runs with your RC car in the UK, these metal dogbones and wheel shafts represent a significant upgrade over standard plastic components. They are specifically engineered to withstand the extreme stresses of aggressive driving, providing you with the reliability needed to keep your RC model running at peak performance.

This spare part is ideal for RC car owners who have experienced wear on their original dogbones and wheel shafts, or for enthusiasts looking to proactively upgrade their drivetrain for enhanced durability. The metal construction offers superior strength compared to plastic alternatives, making these components essential for anyone serious about maximising the lifespan of their RC vehicle. Whether you operate a brushless RC buggy, drift truck, or rally car, investing in metal drivetrain components like these is a smart decision that will pay dividends in reliability and performance over the long term.

At RC Model Shop, we understand that maintaining your RC model with quality spare parts is crucial to enjoyable driving experiences. The UD1601-027 represents the kind of genuine, manufacturer-approved upgrade that experienced RC enthusiasts choose when they want genuine parts from trusted sources rather than cheaper alternatives that compromise on quality.

Key Features

  • Metal Construction — Unlike plastic dogbones that can flex, crack, or break under extreme loads, these metal rear dogbones and wheel shafts are engineered from durable metal materials that maintain structural integrity even during hard bashing, high-speed runs, and aggressive off-road driving, ensuring consistent performance and longevity.
  • Precision Engineering — These components are manufactured to exacting specifications by UdiRC, guaranteeing perfect fitment and compatibility with your RC model, eliminating any guesswork during installation and ensuring that your drivetrain operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Enhanced Durability — Metal construction significantly reduces the risk of component failure during intense driving sessions, which means fewer repairs, less downtime, and more uninterrupted fun with your RC car UK model.
  • Genuine OEM Parts — These are authentic UdiRC replacement parts, not third-party imitations, which guarantees you are getting the exact component your model was designed to use, maintaining warranty validity and ensuring optimal compatibility.
  • Direct Replacement — The UD1601-027 is a straight swap for your existing rear dogbones and wheel shafts, requiring no modification or additional parts, making the upgrade process straightforward and hassle-free for RC enthusiasts of all experience levels.
  • Improved Load-Handling — The metal composition provides superior resistance to bending and deformation under the stresses of acceleration, deceleration, and cornering, which translates to more predictable handling and better overall control of your brushless RC buggy or truck.

Technical Performance

The metal rear dogbones and wheel shafts represent a significant engineering upgrade for your RC model's drivetrain system. Where plastic components can flex under load, losing power transfer efficiency and eventually failing through stress fractures, metal construction provides rigid support that maintains consistent mechanical advantage throughout your driving sessions. The UD1601-027 components are manufactured to the same rigorous standards as the original equipment fitted to new UdiRC vehicles, ensuring that your replacement parts meet or exceed the durability expectations set by the manufacturer. These metal shafts and dogbones are particularly valuable for owners of the UD1601 Breaker Drift Truck, UD1608 Bug (brushed), UD1608PRO Bug (Pro brushless), and UD1603 Rally L Style (brushed) models, though they may offer compatibility with other UdiRC platforms depending on your specific model's drivetrain architecture. The enhanced strength of metal construction becomes increasingly valuable as you upgrade to higher-capacity batteries (such as 3S LiPo power systems) or when you push your ready to run RC model to its maximum performance limits. For owners running brushless motor setups delivering maximum power output, these metal components provide the structural integrity necessary to harness all that performance without worrying about component failure interrupting your driving sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which UdiRC models are these metal dogbones and wheel shafts compatible with? — The UD1601-027 is designed specifically for the UD1601 Breaker Drift Truck, UD1608 Bug (brushed version), UD1608PRO Bug (Pro brushless version), and UD1603 Rally L Style (brushed version). If you own a different UdiRC model, please verify compatibility before ordering, as drivetrain components are model-specific.
  • Why should I upgrade to metal dogbones and wheel shafts instead of using plastic replacements? — Metal components offer dramatically superior durability and strength compared to plastic alternatives. They resist bending and deformation under load, maintain better power transfer efficiency, and significantly extend the lifespan of your drivetrain. For serious RC enthusiasts who regularly bash their models or run brushless power systems, metal components are a worthwhile investment that pays for themselves through reduced repair frequency.
  • Will these metal parts work with my 3S LiPo battery setup? — Yes, these metal dogbones and wheel shafts are engineered to handle the increased power delivery from 3S LiPo batteries (11.1V systems). In fact, upgrading to metal drivetrain components is highly recommended when running higher-voltage battery systems, as the extra power output places greater stress on mechanical components.
  • How difficult is installation? — Installation is straightforward for most RC enthusiasts. These are direct replacement components that simply swap out with your existing plastic dogbones and wheel shafts. However, if you are new to RC car maintenance, you may wish to consult your model's user manual for specific installation procedures, or contact our experienced team at RC Model Shop for guidance.
  • Are these genuine UdiRC parts? — Yes, the UD1601-027 is an authentic OEM (original equipment manufacturer) spare part produced by UdiRC. When you purchase from RC Model Shop, you are receiving genuine parts backed by the manufacturer's quality standards and our commitment to stocking only authorised products.
  • What is the difference between these metal parts and the plastic dogbones that come with my RC model? — The original plastic dogbones are designed for general-purpose driving and represent a cost-effective standard solution. Metal dogbones and wheel shafts upgrade your drivetrain with superior strength and durability, reducing flex and deformation under load, improving power transfer efficiency, and extending component lifespan significantly. For enthusiasts who drive regularly or aggressively, the upgrade to metal components is a highly worthwhile investment.
