Overview
The ARRMA CVD Driveshaft 109MM (2) is an essential replacement and upgrade component designed for serious RC enthusiasts running ARRMA 1/7 scale vehicles in the UK RC market. These high-quality driveshafts are precision-engineered to deliver smooth, reliable power transfer from your motor to the wheels, making them a critical component for maintaining peak performance in your brushless RC vehicle. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying off-road adventure, a competitive racer pushing your RC car to its limits, or an experienced RC hobbyist maintaining your fleet, these CVD driveshafts represent genuine ARRMA factory parts that meet the exacting standards of modern RC engineering.
Built with tough steel construction, the 109mm CVD driveshafts are specifically engineered for the demanding conditions of high-performance RC driving. The constant velocity design ensures smooth power delivery through the transmission system, eliminating the jerky, inconsistent torque delivery associated with older dogbone-style shafts. These are not budget aftermarket parts—they are official ARRMA components that have been tested and validated for use in vehicles like the 1/7 Mojave 6S, one of the most popular and capable ready to run RC desert trucks available in the UK today.
Each pack contains two driveshafts, giving you a complete set for front and rear axles, or allowing you to keep spare parts on hand for when you need them most. In the competitive world of RC car ownership, having genuine replacement parts readily available means more time driving and less time waiting for repairs. The precision manufacturing and low-maintenance CVD coupling design means these shafts will perform consistently across multiple sessions, whether you're racing at your local track or exploring rough terrain.
Key Features
- Tough Steel Construction — The driveshafts are manufactured from hardened steel that resists wear, deformation and damage from the intense forces generated during acceleration, cornering and high-speed driving. Steel's superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to plastic alternatives ensures the shafts can handle the power output of brushless motors and the demands of 4WD drivetrain systems without breaking or failing prematurely.
- Precision Manufactured Dogbone Pins — The dogbone pins that connect the shaft to the transmission are manufactured to extremely tight tolerances, ensuring smooth operation in all driving conditions and weather. Precise pin dimensions eliminate slop and play in the drivetrain, which translates directly to better traction control, more responsive handling, and reduced drivetrain wear over time.
- Precision Engineered CVD Coupling — The constant velocity differential coupling design delivers ultra-smooth power transfer without the vibration, clicking or jolting associated with older universal joint designs. This advanced engineering reduces maintenance requirements and extends component life, whilst also improving overall vehicle control and handling characteristics during aggressive driving.
- Low-Maintenance Design — Unlike some alternative driveshaft designs that require regular greasing and adjustment, the CVD coupling is sealed and engineered to operate with minimal maintenance, saving you time and keeping your RC vehicle ready to run at a moment's notice.
- Genuine ARRMA Factory Parts — These are official ARRMA components manufactured to OEM specifications, ensuring perfect fitment, compatibility and performance with ARRMA vehicles. Using genuine parts protects your investment and ensures warranty coverage on your RC vehicle.
- 109MM Length Specification — The 109mm length is precisely engineered for compatibility with ARRMA 1/7 scale vehicles, particularly the Mojave 6S platform, ensuring correct geometry, suspension geometry and overall vehicle balance.
- Pack of Two — Each purchase includes two complete driveshafts, providing front and rear axle coverage or backup spares, making this package excellent value for money and ensuring you're prepared for extended driving sessions.
Technical Performance
The CVD Driveshaft 109MM represents the pinnacle of RC drivetrain engineering, combining modern materials science with precision manufacturing techniques to deliver consistent performance session after session. Steel construction provides the rigidity needed to handle the torque output of modern brushless motor systems, whilst the precision-engineered CVD coupling eliminates vibration and power loss that would otherwise reduce acceleration response and overall vehicle agility. The 109mm length specification is critical for maintaining proper suspension geometry, ensuring that your ARRMA 1/7 vehicle maintains optimal handling characteristics during high-speed runs and aggressive cornering manoeuvres. The dogbone pin design, with its tight manufacturing tolerances, ensures that power is transmitted cleanly from the motor through the transmission to the wheels with minimal slop or play. This precision engineering is particularly important in competitive RC environments where milliseconds matter, but equally valuable for recreational drivers who simply want the smoothest, most responsive driving experience. The low-maintenance CVD design means you can focus on driving rather than constantly disassembling and servicing drivetrain components, making these shafts ideal for busy RC enthusiasts who want reliable performance without the hassle of constant maintenance.
What's in the Box
Frequently Asked Questions
- Which ARRMA vehicles are these CVD driveshafts compatible with? — These 109mm CVD driveshafts are engineered for ARRMA 1/7 scale vehicles, with confirmed compatibility for the 1/7 Mojave 6S platform in both standard and V2 variants (such as model numbers ARA106058, ARA7604V2, and ARA7204). If you own a different ARRMA model, we recommend checking the parts diagram for your specific vehicle or contacting our expert team at RC Model Shop to confirm fitment before ordering.
- How often do I need to replace these driveshafts? — The tough steel construction and precision engineering mean these CVD driveshafts are built for longevity. With proper care and normal driving, they should provide thousands of kilometres of reliable service. You'll typically only need replacements if you damage a shaft through impact or crash, or if you're upgrading from older universal joint designs. Having spare driveshafts on hand ensures you're never without your RC vehicle for extended periods.
- What is the difference between CVD couplings and universal joint driveshafts? — CVD (constant velocity differential) couplings provide smooth, consistent power delivery without the clicking, vibration or power loss associated with traditional universal joint designs. The CVD design eliminates stress concentrations and maintains constant torque transmission through any angle, resulting in better acceleration response, quieter operation, and reduced wear on connected components. For modern brushless RC vehicles, CVD is the superior design choice.
- Are these genuine ARRMA parts or aftermarket alternatives? — These are genuine official ARRMA factory components manufactured to OEM specifications, not third-party aftermarket parts. Using genuine ARRMA driveshafts ensures perfect fitment with your vehicle, maintains warranty coverage, and guarantees performance standards that have been validated by the manufacturer.
- Do I need any special tools to install these driveshafts? — Installation typically requires basic RC tools including hex drivers and possibly a small punch or pin removal tool, depending on your specific vehicle's design. The source materials do not provide detailed installation instructions, so we recommend consulting your vehicle's assembly manual or contacting our expert team at RC Model Shop for specific guidance on your model.
- What makes these CVD driveshafts stand out from other RC drivetrain components? — The combination of tough steel construction, precision-manufactured dogbone pins, and engineered CVD coupling represents a complete drivetrain solution rather than a single upgraded component. This holistic design approach means all elements work in harmony to deliver smooth, responsive, low-maintenance performance across all driving conditions.
