Overview

The Tamiya PS-21 Park Green Polycarbonate Spray Paint is a specialist finishing product designed exclusively for decorating transparent polycarbonate bodies used in RC car modelling. This bright and lively shade of green delivers a vibrant colour that brings RC car bodies to life, making it an essential choice for anyone looking to personalise their RC vehicle. Whether you're building a bespoke RC car in the UK or completing a competition-ready machine, this spray paint has been engineered by Tamiya, one of the world's most trusted RC manufacturers, to deliver professional results on polycarbonate shells.

Each 100ml can contains exactly the right amount of paint needed to finish a single model body, making it a cost-effective solution for RC enthusiasts. The paint is specially formulated to be impervious to oil and fuels, meaning it can be safely applied to glow engine RC car bodies without degradation or damage. This makes it an ideal choice for RC modellers who run fuel-powered or gas-powered RC vehicles, as well as electric-powered models. The paint has been rigorously developed to meet the specific demands of polycarbonate, ensuring perfect adhesion and a durable, professional finish that will withstand the wear and tear of regular RC driving.

For RC car enthusiasts in the UK looking to achieve show-quality results on their transparent polycarbonate bodies, the Tamiya PS-21 Park Green offers unmatched compatibility, reliability and performance. Unlike standard spray paints designed for plastic model kits, this product is engineered solely for polycarbonate, ensuring optimal results and long-lasting colour vibrancy on your RC car body.

Key Features

  • Specialist Polycarbonate Formulation — This spray paint is specifically developed for transparent polycarbonate bodies used in RC car modelling, not for plastic model kits, ensuring perfect compatibility and adhesion with polycarbonate surfaces.
  • Oil and Fuel Resistant — The paint is impervious to oil and fuels, making it completely safe to use on gas-powered and glow engine RC car bodies without risking paint degradation or chemical breakdown.
  • Perfect Quantity Per Can — Each 100ml can contains the exact amount of paint needed to finish one model body, eliminating waste and providing cost-effective coverage for your RC project.
  • Bright, Lively Park Green Colour — The vibrant green shade delivers eye-catching colour that stands out on the track or trail, making your RC car visually distinctive and professionally finished.
  • Interior Spray Application — Designed to be applied from inside the polycarbonate body, this method protects the painted surface from impact and abrasion whilst maintaining a crystal-clear appearance from the outside.
  • Multi-Coat Capability — The paint cures effectively between coats, allowing you to apply additional layers as necessary to build depth of colour and achieve the exact shade intensity you desire.
  • Professional RC Finishing Standard — Tamiya's proven manufacturing expertise ensures that this paint meets the exacting standards expected by RC car modellers worldwide, from casual enthusiasts to competitive racers.

Technical Performance

The Tamiya PS-21 Park Green Polycarbonate Spray Paint represents the pinnacle of RC finishing technology. This spray paint is engineered with a specialist formulation that bonds chemically with polycarbonate, creating a durable, resilient finish that resists the environmental stresses of RC driving. The 100ml volume has been carefully calculated by Tamiya engineers to provide complete coverage for a single polycarbonate RC car body, allowing modellers to achieve full, even colour distribution without running short or wasting excess paint. The paint's immunity to oil and fuels is particularly significant for RC enthusiasts who operate glow-powered engines or fuel-driven RC vehicles, as conventional paints can suffer chemical degradation when exposed to nitro fuel vapours or engine oils. The bright Park Green colour maintains exceptional vibrancy when applied correctly, and the formulation supports multi-coat application, enabling modellers to achieve deeper colour saturation or custom colour blending through layering techniques. Application from the interior of the polycarbonate body is crucial for RC car aesthetics and durability, as this method keeps the painted surface protected from direct impact, debris and UV exposure whilst preserving the clarity of the polycarbonate shell.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I use Tamiya PS-21 Park Green on plastic model kits? — No. This paint is exclusively formulated for polycarbonate and must never be used on plastic model kits. Tamiya manufactures separate paint ranges for plastic scale models, so ensure you select the correct paint type for your project to avoid surface damage or poor adhesion.
  • Is this spray paint suitable for gas-powered RC cars? — Yes, absolutely. The Tamiya PS-21 is specifically engineered to be impervious to oil and fuels, making it completely safe for use on glow engine and gas-powered RC car bodies. The paint will not degrade or peel when exposed to fuel vapours or engine oils, ensuring a long-lasting finish even on high-performance fuel-powered models.
  • How do I apply this paint to my RC car body? — Paint the polycarbonate body from the inside, holding the spray can approximately 30cm away from the surface. Allow the paint to cure fully, then apply additional coats as necessary to achieve your desired colour depth and coverage. For small details, Tamiya bottle paints for polycarbonate can be brush painted before the main spray coating. This interior application method protects the painted surface from impact and wear whilst maintaining the transparency of the polycarbonate.
  • How much coverage does one 100ml can provide? — Each 100ml can contains the precise amount of paint needed to finish a single polycarbonate RC car body, making it a convenient and economical choice that eliminates guesswork and waste when colouring your model.
  • What is the difference between this paint and standard spray paints? — Standard spray paints are formulated for plastic and other surfaces, but the Tamiya PS-21 is specifically engineered for polycarbonate materials used exclusively in RC car bodies. Its specialist formulation ensures perfect adhesion to polycarbonate, superior durability when exposed to fuels and oils, and optimal colour vibrancy on transparent shells. Using the correct paint type for your material is essential for professional results and long-lasting finish quality.
  • Can I apply this paint to the outside of the polycarbonate body? — Whilst you can apply paint to the exterior, Tamiya's recommendation and the professional method is to paint from the inside. Interior application protects the painted surface from direct impact, debris, UV damage and abrasion during RC driving, resulting in longer-lasting colour vibrancy and a more durable finish.
