Overview

The Tamiya TS-69 Linoleum Deck Brown Acrylic Spray is a specialist synthetic lacquer paint formulation designed specifically for scale modellers and RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand authentic, historically accurate finishes on their precision models. This professional-grade spray paint recreates the distinctive colour of the linoleum coating that was applied to the decks of Imperial Japanese Navy cruisers, destroyers and other naval vessels during World War II, making it an essential choice for anyone building or finishing Japanese naval scale models with period accuracy. Whether you are a serious scale modeller, a history enthusiast, or an RC builder seeking authentic military finishes, this Tamiya colour spray delivers the specialist pigmentation and finish quality that defines Tamiya's reputation for excellence in the modelling world.

Tamiya spray paints are engineered for rapid curing and exceptional coverage, allowing modellers to apply smooth, even base coats efficiently before adding intricate details using complementary acrylic or enamel paints. The synthetic lacquer formulation means this spray paint remains unaffected by subsequent layers of acrylic or enamel paints, giving you complete flexibility in your finishing approach and making it ideal for complex, multi-stage painting projects. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK building detailed scale replicas, military diorama models, or anyone requiring authentic Japanese naval colour schemes, the TS-69 represents professional-quality paint in a convenient, ready-to-use spray format.

Each can contains a generous 100ml of paint—sufficient to fully cover two or three 1/24 scale car bodies or provide comprehensive deck coverage for larger ship and naval models. This substantial volume makes the TS-69 economical for both single projects and ongoing modelling work, ensuring you have adequate paint for proper coverage without overspray waste. The convenient aerosol format eliminates the need for compressors, spray guns, or complicated setup, making it accessible to modellers of all experience levels while maintaining the professional finish quality expected from Tamiya's range of scale modelling products.

Key Features

  • Specialist IJN Naval Colour Formulation — This spray recreates the exact linoleum deck brown colour historically applied to Imperial Japanese Navy cruisers, destroyers and similar vessels, ensuring your scale models achieve authentic military accuracy that distinguishes them from generic brown finishes and makes them historically credible.
  • Synthetic Lacquer Paint Technology — The paint is formulated as a high-quality synthetic lacquer that cures rapidly, allowing you to work efficiently through multi-stage painting projects without extended waiting times between coats, whilst maintaining exceptional adhesion and durability.
  • Compatible with Acrylic and Enamel Paints — Unlike some paint systems, the TS-69 is not affected by subsequent layers of acrylic or enamel paints, giving you complete freedom to layer details, weathering effects and highlighting using whichever paint medium suits your technique, making complex finishes simpler and more effective.
  • Generous 100ml Capacity — Each can contains 100ml of paint, which is sufficient to fully cover two or three 1/24 scale car bodies or provide comprehensive coverage for deck areas on larger naval models, making this economical for various project sizes.
  • Professional Spray Format — The aerosol spray delivery system requires no additional equipment such as compressors or spray guns, making it accessible to modellers at all skill levels whilst delivering the smooth, even finish that only professional spray application can achieve.
  • Tamiya Quality Assurance — As part of Tamiya's established colour spray range, the TS-69 is formulated to the same exacting standards that have made Tamiya the trusted name in scale modelling paints for decades, ensuring consistent quality and finish across your models.

Technical Performance

The Tamiya TS-69 Linoleum Deck Brown is engineered using synthetic lacquer technology that delivers superior coverage, rapid curing times and exceptional durability compared to standard acrylic spray paints. The paint formulation is specifically engineered to adhere reliably to plastic model surfaces whilst remaining unaffected by subsequent applications of acrylic or enamel detail paints, allowing modellers to build complex, layered finishes without concerns about paint interaction or adhesion failure. The 100ml capacity provides adequate volume for comprehensive coverage of large model surfaces—sufficient to fully coat two or three 1/24 scale car bodies or provide deck coverage for larger naval and ship models. The synthetic lacquer cures quickly, enabling efficient project progression and reducing the downtime between painting stages. The colour itself is a specialist military formulation matching the distinctive linoleum coating applied to Japanese naval vessels, making it essential for period-accurate scale replicas and historically faithful military dioramas. For RC modellers and scale builders in the UK seeking authentic Japanese naval finishes or period-correct military paint schemes, the TS-69 delivers the precision colour accuracy and professional finish quality that defines serious scale modelling practice.
