Whether you're running a ready to run RC buggy, monster truck or short course vehicle, this standard-sized servo delivers the precision control and responsive steering that serious racers and weekend bashers demand. With its impressive 86 oz-in of torque output, the TRX2055 transforms the way your RC model responds to throttle and steering inputs, providing the firm, locked-in feel that separates a competitive setup from an average one.
This servo is engineered specifically for RC enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on performance. If you've experienced that frustrating lag in steering response where your RC car feels disconnected from your inputs, the Traxxas 2055 is the solution. The high-torque design ensures that your steering commands are executed immediately and precisely, giving you the confidence to push your RC vehicle to its limits whether you're bashing through rough terrain or competing in a race event. For those upgrading from standard servos or looking to build their first high-performance RC setup in the UK market, the TRX2055 delivers genuine performance gains at a sensible price point.
Traxxas is globally recognised as a leader in quality RC vehicles and components, and this servo exemplifies their commitment to excellence. The TRX2055 has become a trusted choice among RC enthusiasts across the UK who understand that quality steering response is fundamental to enjoyable RC car ownership. Whether you're an experienced racer or discovering the world of high-performance RC for the first time, installing the Traxxas 2055 into your vehicle will immediately demonstrate the difference that proper servo selection makes to overall handling and control.
Key Features
- 86 oz-in Torque Output — This exceptional torque rating ensures your steering servo can hold its position against the forces generated by high-speed cornering, rough terrain impacts and aggressive driving styles, preventing the steering from wandering or losing precision even under extreme conditions. This is particularly important for RC enthusiasts running fast vehicles or bash trucks where durability and responsiveness are non-negotiable.
- Ultra-Fast 0.20 Second Response Time — The servo responds to your steering input in just 0.20 seconds per 60 degrees of rotation, which means your RC car's steering changes happen almost instantaneously after you move the transmitter stick. This lightning-fast transit time eliminates the feeling of lag or delay that characterises lower-quality servos, and is absolutely essential for competitive racing where milliseconds matter.
- 6 kg/cm Torque Rating — Expressed in kilogram-centimetres, the 6 kg/cm figure confirms the servo's ability to deliver the holding power needed for reliable steering control across a wide range of driving conditions, from gentle on-road courses to aggressive off-road bashing with brushless RC models.
- Analog Operation — The servo uses proven analog technology that delivers smooth, proportional steering control with excellent linearity across the full range of servo movement, making it suitable for both casual driving and competitive racing applications where smooth handling characteristics are valued.
- Standard Servo Size — The compact standard form factor means the TRX2055 will fit into most modern RC vehicles without requiring custom mounting or chassis modifications, making it an easy drop-in upgrade for existing RC cars and trucks across the UK market.
- Plastic Gear Construction — The servo uses durable plastic gears that balance strength, weight and cost-effectiveness, providing reliable performance whilst keeping your overall RC vehicle weight down, which translates to better acceleration and handling characteristics.
- 25-Tooth Servo Horn — The servo comes fitted with a standard 25-tooth spline horn that interfaces with the vast majority of steering linkage systems used on Traxxas RC vehicles and other compatible models, ensuring straightforward installation without the need for additional horn adapters.
- Brushed Motor Design — The traditional brushed motor technology provides smooth, predictable power delivery with excellent low-end torque, eliminating the high-frequency noise sometimes associated with brushless servos and delivering that classic servo feel that experienced RC enthusiasts appreciate.
Technical Performance
The Traxxas 2055 servo is engineered to deliver outstanding performance through a combination of robust mechanical design and quality components. At just 1.59 ounces (45 grams), the servo maintains a lightweight profile that minimises the impact on your RC vehicle's overall weight distribution and handling balance. The physical dimensions of 1.60 inches length, 0.80 inches width and 1.43 inches height confirm the standard servo format that integrates seamlessly into virtually all modern RC car platforms. The brushed motor technology paired with plastic gears creates a servo that responds instantly to command inputs whilst maintaining the structural integrity needed to withstand the forces generated during high-speed cornering and impacts. The 0.20 second response time across 60 degrees of rotation is genuinely competitive with premium servos costing significantly more, making the TRX2055 an exceptional value proposition for UK RC enthusiasts building or upgrading their vehicles. The 86 oz-in torque specification ensures the servo can hold steering position confidently even when your RC car is subjected to the violent forces generated during aggressive driving, trailing braking, high-speed cornering and rough terrain impacts. Whether you're operating at 6.0 volts with a standard receiver battery pack or running higher voltages through a dedicated servo power supply, the TRX2055 is engineered to deliver consistent, reliable performance throughout its operational lifespan. The bushing-based rotation support provides smooth movement without play or binding, contributing to the precise steering feel that drivers experience when operating their RC models.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the Traxxas 2055 and standard budget servos? — The TRX2055 delivers 86 oz-in of torque compared to significantly lower figures on budget servos, and achieves 0.20 second response time which is noticeably faster than economy options. This translates directly to more responsive steering control and better holding power under load, making your RC car feel more connected and predictable. Budget servos often exhibit noticeable lag and can't maintain position reliably when driving aggressively, whereas the 2055 holds rock-solid steering position even during high-speed manoeuvres and impacts.
- Is the Traxxas 2055 suitable for beginners and casual RC drivers? — Absolutely. Whilst the 2055 is powerful enough for competitive racing, its standard servo size and straightforward installation make it perfect for any RC enthusiast stepping up from a basic servo. Beginners will immediately notice the improvement in steering responsiveness and the elimination of mushy steering feel, which makes learning to drive an RC car more enjoyable and rewarding. The servo is not fragile or temperamental — it's a proven workhorse that has earned the trust of countless UK RC drivers.
- What voltage should I run the Traxxas 2055 servo at? — The servo is rated for 6.0 volt operation according to the manufacturer specifications. Most modern RC receiver battery packs operate at 4.8 volts (four AA NiMH cells) or 5.1 volts when fully charged, and the servo will function reliably at these voltages. Some advanced RC setups use dedicated servo power supplies or higher-voltage battery packs, but standard receiver batteries are the recommended and most common approach.
- Will the Traxxas 2055 servo fit my RC vehicle? — If your RC car, truck, buggy or crawler uses a standard servo bay (which is the vast majority of modern models), the TRX2055 will fit without modification. The standard servo size and 25-tooth spline horn ensure compatibility with Traxxas vehicles and most other brands. If you're uncertain whether your specific model uses standard servo mounting, we recommend consulting your vehicle's manual or contacting our experienced team.
- How does the 0.20 second response time compare to other servos? — A 0.20 second transit time per 60 degrees is exceptionally quick and puts the TRX2055 among the fastest servos available at its price point. This means steering inputs are executed almost instantaneously, eliminating the lag or delay that budget servos exhibit. For competitive racing on UK tracks or aggressive bashing, this responsiveness is absolutely essential for achieving the fastest lap times and maintaining control during demanding driving.
- Is the plastic gear construction durable enough? — Yes. Traxxas engineers plastic gears to deliver years of reliable service when the servo is properly installed and maintained. The plastic construction actually provides benefits over pure metal gears in many applications, offering a better balance of strength, weight and cost. The 86 oz-in torque output indicates the gears are engineered to handle significant load without stripping or failing under normal driving conditions.
