Key Features
- 6061-T6 Aluminium Construction — Aerospace-grade aluminium provides an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio that enhances overall vehicle performance whilst maintaining durability through demanding driving conditions and repeated use on various terrain types.
- Lightweight Design — The 189mm centre driveshaft is engineered to minimise unsprung weight in your RC car's drivetrain, which improves acceleration, handling response and overall driving characteristics without compromising structural integrity.
- Internal Spline Design — The internal splines fit directly onto the input shafts of the front and rear drive assemblies, eliminating play and ensuring precise power transfer from your motors to the wheels with zero backlash.
- Blue Anodised Finish — The vivid anodised surface provides corrosion resistance and UV protection whilst delivering a professional appearance that stands out visually in your RC model.
- Laser-Etched Traxxas Logo — The precision laser etching adds premium styling and authenticity, clearly marking this as genuine Traxxas equipment built to exacting standards.
- OEM Quality Replacement Part — As an official Traxxas spare part, this driveshaft meets the same manufacturing tolerances and quality standards as the original component, ensuring perfect compatibility and performance.
Technical Performance
The Traxxas TRX6765 centre driveshaft represents premium drivetrain engineering specifically optimised for high-performance RC short-course trucks and 4WD racing platforms. Manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminium—the same material used in aerospace and high-precision engineering applications—this driveshaft delivers superior strength whilst remaining significantly lighter than steel alternatives. The 189mm length is precisely engineered to fit the centre drivetrain position on compatible Traxxas models including the Rustler 4X4 HD VXL (available in blue, orange, green and red colour variants) and the Rustler Ultimate VXL 4x4 platform. The internal spline design ensures zero play between the driveshaft and input shafts, which is critical for accurate power transmission and responsive handling during high-speed runs and competitive racing. The blue anodised finish provides protection against oxidation and physical damage during use and storage. When upgrading from composite driveshaft components on existing vehicles, note that the 6888X drive hub is required to ensure proper fitment and performance. This attention to detail in both materials and engineering reinforces why Traxxas driveshafts are the choice of serious RC enthusiasts throughout the UK and beyond.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Traxxas TRX6765 centre driveshaft compatible with all Traxxas RC models? — No, this driveshaft is specifically designed for certain Traxxas platforms. It is confirmed compatible with the Rustler 4X4 HD VXL (available in blue, orange, green and red variants) and the Rustler Ultimate VXL 4x4 model. Always verify model compatibility before ordering to ensure proper fitment.
- What material is this driveshaft made from and why does it matter? — The TRX6765 is constructed from 6061-T6 aluminium, an aerospace-grade material selected for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. This material choice means your RC car benefits from improved acceleration and handling whilst maintaining durability through regular use and competitive racing, unlike heavier steel alternatives or more fragile composite options.
- Do I need any additional parts to install this centre driveshaft? — If you're upgrading from a composite driveshaft on an existing vehicle, you will need the 6888X drive hub to ensure proper fitment and secure connection to your front and rear drive assemblies. Direct replacements on compatible models typically install without additional hardware.
- What is the blue anodised finish and how does it benefit the driveshaft? — Anodising is an electrochemical process that creates a hard, protective oxide layer on the aluminium surface. The blue colour is part of this protective coating, which resists corrosion, oxidation and UV damage, extending the component's lifespan and maintaining its appearance through extended use in various weather conditions.
- How does the internal spline design improve performance? — Internal splines create a precision fit onto the input shafts of your front and rear drive assemblies, eliminating play and backlash in the drivetrain. This means power transfers more directly from your motors to the wheels with no energy loss, resulting in more responsive handling and more consistent performance during racing and bashing.
- Is this a genuine Traxxas part? — Yes, the TRX6765 is an official Traxxas original equipment (OEM) spare part manufactured to the same specifications and tolerances as factory components, ensuring perfect compatibility and reliable performance on compatible models.
