Overview
The ARRMA HD Composite Input Gear 13T is a precision-engineered replacement component designed for RC enthusiasts who demand reliability and performance from their scale models. This high-quality input gear is an ideal replacement for factory-supplied parts on a wide range of ARRMA RC vehicles, from brushless speed trucks to brushed monster trucks and buggies. Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK competitor or a weekend basher looking to upgrade your drivetrain, this bevel gear delivers the durability and smooth operation that serious hobbyists expect from genuine manufacturer parts.
Built using ARRMA's proven hybrid construction technology, this input gear combines a composite gear body with a metal splined shaft to create a component that can withstand the rigours of high-performance driving whilst maintaining precise engagement with mating components. The 13-tooth bevel gear configuration with 1.35 module tooth profile ensures smooth power delivery and consistent performance across a range of ARRMA ready-to-run RC vehicles, including the Big Rock, Granite, Kraton, Outcast, Senton, Vorteks, Infraction, Typhon and Vendetta models.
This replacement part is essential for anyone who has experienced wear on their original input gear or who simply wants to maintain peak drivetrain performance on their RC truck, buggy or stadium truck. The HD designation indicates heavy-duty construction, making this an upgrade over standard components and a wise investment for protecting your RC investment.
Key Features
- Hybrid Construction Technology — The combination of a composite gear moulded onto a metal splined shaft delivers the best of both materials: the durability and strength of steel where it matters most, combined with the lightweight and precision-moulded composite gear teeth that reduce noise and vibration during operation.
- 13-Tooth Bevel Gear Configuration — This specific tooth count is engineered to work seamlessly with ARRMA's transmission systems, providing optimal torque delivery and rotational efficiency for monster trucks, buggies, short-course trucks and stadium trucks across both brushless and brushed RC platforms.
- 1.35 Module Tooth Profile — The precise module specification ensures that this gear will mesh perfectly with compatible differential sets (specifically #ARA310872 or #ARA310956), maintaining the exact tolerances required for smooth, silent operation and longevity of your RC car's transmission system.
- Tough and Durable Materials — Manufactured from high-quality materials selected for their strength and resistance to the stresses imposed by high-torque acceleration, cornering and impact, this component is engineered to last through countless hours of RC driving on track, street and off-road terrain.
- Precise Dimensional Accuracy — Each gear is manufactured to exacting specifications that ensure excellent fit within your RC vehicle's transmission housing, eliminating play and ensuring smooth operation without grinding or slipping that can compromise performance or damage adjacent components.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA HD Composite Input Gear 13T represents a significant step up in drivetrain reliability compared to standard kit-supplied parts. The hybrid construction methodology addresses a fundamental engineering challenge: how to create a gear that is simultaneously strong, lightweight, precise and cost-effective. By utilising a composite gear body moulded directly onto a hardened steel splined shaft, ARRMA achieves exceptional performance across the full spectrum of RC applications, from the brushless 4S and 3S LiPo-powered speed trucks like the Kraton and Outcast, through to the brushed 2WD and 4WD monster trucks and buggies in the Granite, Senton and Vorteks families. The 13-tooth configuration is specifically engineered to provide optimal gear ratios when paired with the 37-tooth main differential gear (1.35M), creating a transmission system that balances acceleration, top speed and torque delivery. This component is equally at home in high-powered brushless systems demanding rapid acceleration and high-speed performance, as well as brushed systems where controlled power delivery and durability are paramount. The precise 1.35 module tooth profile ensures meshing compatibility with OEM differential components, eliminating the risk of incompatibility or improper engagement that could lead to premature wear or catastrophic transmission failure. Whether you're piloting a 1/10 scale short-course truck for competitive racing or a 1/8 scale all-road street bash vehicle on challenging terrain, this input gear has been engineered to withstand the demands placed upon it by modern RC driving.

Always verify your vehicle's transmission specification before ordering.
- Do I need any other parts to install this input gear? — Yes, this gear must be used in conjunction with either differential set #ARA310872 or #ARA310956 (both 37-tooth with 1.35 module profile) to ensure proper mesh, smooth operation and correct power transmission through your RC vehicle's drivetrain.
- What makes the HD version better than standard input gears? — The HD designation indicates heavy-duty construction and materials designed to withstand higher stresses and provide extended service life compared to standard parts. The hybrid construction combining composite and metal splined shaft offers superior durability, reduced noise and improved precision compared to purely composite alternatives.
- Can I use this gear as a direct replacement for my factory-supplied input gear? — Yes, this component is specifically designed as an ideal replacement for kit-supplied input gears. Many RC enthusiasts choose to upgrade to this HD version when replacing worn original parts, as it offers improved durability and performance characteristics that extend the life of your entire transmission system.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Whilst this is a replacement component rather than a complete RC vehicle or kit, RC hobbyists of all levels use ARRMA parts. If you are a beginner to RC and have an ARRMA vehicle requiring drivetrain maintenance or upgrades, we recommend consulting your vehicle manual or speaking with experienced RC enthusiasts to ensure proper installation.
- How often will I need to replace this input gear? — With proper maintenance and operation within the vehicle's designed parameters, this HD input gear should provide extended service life. Factors including driving style, terrain, maintenance frequency and whether the vehicle is used in wet conditions will influence replacement intervals. Regular inspection of your transmission components is good practice in RC maintenance.
