Overview
The AXIAL 5mm x 13mm x 4mm Ball Bearing (2) is an essential replacement part for serious RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand reliability and precision in their radio controlled vehicles. This pack contains two sealed ball bearings, engineered to deliver smooth, consistent rotation and reduced friction in critical drivetrain components. Whether you're maintaining your 1/10 scale RC crawler, upgrading your trail buggy, or servicing your competition-grade rock crawler, these bearings are designed to keep your RC car UK experience running at peak performance. With a 4.6 out of 5 customer rating, this component has earned trust from the RC hobby community for its durability and compatibility across multiple Axial platforms.
Sealed ball bearings are the backbone of responsive handling and efficient power delivery in any quality RC model. The 5mm x 13mm x 4mm dimensions make this bearing suitable for a wide variety of drivetrain applications, from portal axles to gearbox assemblies. If you're building a custom RC setup, maintaining an existing vehicle, or replacing worn components on your Capra, SCX10 III, or other Axial model, having a spare set of these precision bearings on hand is a smart investment in long-term vehicle performance. The sealed design protects the rolling elements from dirt, dust and moisture, ensuring consistent operation even in challenging off-road conditions.
RC car maintenance shouldn't be complicated, and with genuine Axial parts from RC Model Shop, you can ensure your vehicle receives the same quality components that came from the factory. These ball bearings are engineered to Axial's exacting standards and will restore your RC car to optimal performance specifications.
Key Features
- Sealed Ball Bearing Design — The sealed construction prevents contamination from dust, mud and water ingress, which is critical when operating RC vehicles in outdoor environments and ensuring longevity between service intervals.
- Precision 5mm x 13mm x 4mm Dimensions — These exact specifications ensure perfect fitment in compatible Axial RC models, eliminating compatibility issues and guarantee smooth bearing operation without lateral play or wobbling.
- Pack of Two Bearings — This generous two-bearing set allows you to replace worn components on both sides of your RC vehicle's drivetrain simultaneously, balancing performance and eliminating uneven wear patterns.
- Genuine Axial Component — As an official Axial part, these bearings meet manufacturer specifications for quality, material composition and performance tolerance, giving you confidence in reliability and longevity.
- Trusted by RC Community — With a 4.6 out of 5 customer rating, these bearings have proven themselves reliable and effective across countless RC applications, from casual bashers to serious trail runners and rock crawlers.
- Universal Axial Compatibility — Compatible with numerous Axial models including the Capra 1.9, SCX10 III series (including Jeep JLU Wrangler, Jeep JT Gladiator, and Toyota SR5 variants), and other Axial 1/10 and 1/8 scale platforms.
Technical Performance
Ball bearings are fundamental to RC vehicle performance, directly affecting handling responsiveness, acceleration smoothness and overall drivetrain efficiency. The 5mm bore of these bearings accommodates standard RC axle shafts, whilst the 13mm outer diameter and 4mm width provide the robust load-carrying capacity necessary for high-performance rock crawling, trail driving and off-road bashing. Sealed bearings utilise precision-ground steel balls rolling within hardened steel races, with elastomer seals that prevent contamination whilst allowing minimal friction. The sealed design is particularly valuable for UK RC enthusiasts who operate vehicles in wet, muddy and dusty conditions common in British countryside terrain. Unlike open bearings that require frequent re-greasing and inspection, sealed bearings maintain consistent performance over extended periods, reducing maintenance burden and downtime. These components are engineered to deliver smooth, quiet operation at both low crawling speeds and higher trail speeds, making them versatile across different driving styles and vehicle configurations. When bearings become worn, they introduce lateral play, vibration and increased rolling resistance that compromises both handling feel and battery efficiency. Replacing worn bearings with quality Axial components restores that factory-fresh responsiveness and ensures your RC model performs as intended by the engineers who designed it.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Axial RC models are compatible with these 5mm x 13mm x 4mm ball bearings? — These bearings fit numerous Axial 1/10 and 1/8 scale models including the Capra 1.9 4WD Unlimited Trail Buggy, SCX10 III series (base camp models, Jeep JLU Wrangler variants with and without portals, Jeep JT Gladiator editions, and Toyota SR5), SCX10 III Coyote 4X4 rock crawler, UTB10 Capra 1.9 unlimited trail buggy, AXP8 Gilamon trail buggy, and SCX10 Pro portal axle conversion kits. Check the product fitments list or consult your vehicle manual to confirm compatibility with your specific model.
- How do I know if my RC bearings need replacing? — Signs of worn bearings include rough feeling or grinding sensations when rotating shafts, visible lateral movement or wobbling in axles, unusual noise from the drivetrain, or increased friction that reduces top speed and efficiency even with a fully charged battery. If you experience any of these symptoms during operation, replacement bearings should be installed promptly to prevent further drivetrain damage.
- What is the advantage of sealed ball bearings over open bearings? — Sealed bearings protect internal rolling elements from dirt, water and contamination, requiring far less maintenance and delivering consistent performance in challenging off-road conditions. Open bearings require regular inspection and re-greasing, especially after wet or muddy operation, whilst sealed bearings maintain performance autonomously between major service intervals.
- Are these genuine Axial parts or aftermarket replacements? — These are genuine Axial components manufactured to original specifications, ensuring perfect fitment and performance consistency in your RC vehicle. Purchasing genuine parts from authorised retailers like RC Model Shop guarantees quality and compatibility.
- How many bearings do I need for a complete drivetrain service? — Most RC vehicles utilise multiple bearings throughout their drivetrain systems. Since this pack contains two bearings, you may require multiple packs depending on your model's configuration. Consult your vehicle manual or RC Model Shop staff for the exact bearing count required for your specific model.
- Is installation difficult? — Ball bearing replacement typically requires basic RC maintenance skills and simple hand tools. Bearings are generally pressed onto axle shafts or seated within bearing blocks. If you're unfamiliar with bearing replacement, RC Model Shop's experienced team can provide guidance or installation support.
