Overview

The Traxxas Ring Differential, 35-tooth heavy-duty differential ring gear (TRX7792) is an essential drivetrain component for serious RC enthusiasts running Traxxas X-Maxx and other compatible models. Whether you're a competitive racer pushing your RC car UK setup to the limit, or a weekend basher who demands reliability and durability, this heavy-duty metal ring gear is engineered to handle the demands of high-performance RC driving. The 35-tooth configuration works in harmony with the 11-tooth heavy-duty differential pinion gears to deliver smooth, efficient power delivery to both front and rear differentials, making it an ideal upgrade or replacement component for any dedicated RC hobbyist.

As a dedicated spare part, the Traxxas 35-tooth ring gear represents genuine OEM engineering and precision manufacturing. It's built to withstand the rigours of intense RC bashing, racing, and competitive driving without compromising performance or longevity. For owners of brushless RC monster trucks like the X-Maxx, having quality differential components in your spares box is essential maintenance practice, ensuring you can get back on the track or trail quickly if wear or damage occurs.

RC Model Shop stocks this component as part of our comprehensive Traxxas spares and tuning range, making it easy for UK-based RC enthusiasts to source genuine parts with confidence. Whether you're upgrading for improved durability, replacing worn components, or building a competition-grade setup, the TRX7792 is a trusted choice backed by Traxxas's reputation for quality and performance in the ready-to-run RC and race kit market.

Key Features

  • Heavy-duty metal construction — Manufactured from robust steel material, this ring gear is engineered to withstand the extreme forces generated by high-powered brushless RC systems, ensuring it maintains its integrity during aggressive acceleration, hard cornering, and demanding terrain.
  • 35-tooth specification — The 35-tooth count provides an optimal balance between torque delivery and top-end performance when paired with the 11-tooth heavy-duty differential pinion gears, allowing your RC car to accelerate smoothly whilst maintaining control and stability.
  • Genuine Traxxas part — As an OEM Traxxas component, this ring gear meets the manufacturer's exacting quality standards and fits perfectly with Traxxas differentials, eliminating compatibility issues and ensuring reliable operation.
  • Front or rear differential compatibility — This versatile ring gear works equally well in front or rear differential assemblies, giving you flexibility in your maintenance and upgrade strategy for your RC setup.
  • Works with multiple pinion gears — Compatible with both the #7790 and #7791 11-tooth heavy-duty differential pinion gears, providing options when assembling or repairing your differential system.
  • Easy installation — As a direct replacement part for compatible Traxxas models, installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC maintenance knowledge, making it an ideal spare to keep on hand.

Technical Performance

The Traxxas TRX7792 represents precision engineering in drivetrain component design. Built from heavy-duty steel, this 35-tooth ring gear is specifically engineered to work within Traxxas's differential systems, which are known for their durability and performance in both brushless and high-torque applications. The gear ratio created by the combination of this 35-tooth ring gear with the 11-tooth pinion gears (whether #7790 or #7791) provides a 3.18:1 reduction ratio, delivering balanced performance characteristics suitable for aggressive driving conditions.

In real-world RC applications, particularly with high-performance models like the X-Maxx 8S brushless monster truck, differential ring gears experience continuous stress from torque transfer, sudden acceleration changes, and impact loads during off-road driving. The heavy-duty steel construction of the TRX7792 is specifically formulated to resist stripping, tooth wear, and deformation under these demanding conditions. The precision manufacturing ensures that gear mesh remains consistent throughout the component's service life, maintaining smooth power delivery and minimising vibration or noise during operation. For UK RC enthusiasts who demand reliability from their equipment, whether running track racing, off-road bashing, or competitive RC events, this component provides the durability required for extended service life.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What Traxxas models is the TRX7792 compatible with? — The TRX7792 is compatible with a wide range of Traxxas models including the X-Maxx Belted 4WD Brushless RTR (in various colours including Red, Blue, Orange, and Green), the X-Maxx Ultimate (Blue X and Green X versions), the X-Monster Chassis, the Traxxas Funco Motorsports Pro Scale 8S 2WD Electric Sand Car (available in Red, Blue, Orange, and Green), the XRT VXL-8S (Green, Black, Blue, and Orange versions), and the XRT Ultimate (Blue X and Green X versions). If your model isn't listed, consult your vehicle manual or contact us to confirm compatibility.
  • Do I need to replace my ring gear regularly? — Ring gears typically last a considerable time with proper maintenance and careful driving. However, they should be replaced if you notice clicking sounds in the differential, feel vibration during acceleration, observe tooth damage or stripping, or experience performance degradation. Having a spare TRX7792 in your spares box is smart maintenance practice for serious RC enthusiasts.
  • What pinion gears work with this ring gear? — The TRX7792 35-tooth ring gear is specifically designed to work with either the Traxxas #7790 or #7791 11-tooth heavy-duty differential pinion gears. Do not mix with non-heavy-duty pinions or incompatible gear counts, as this will affect performance and may cause premature wear.
  • Can I use this in both front and rear differentials? — Yes, the TRX7792 is suitable for use in both front and rear differential positions, providing flexibility when maintaining or upgrading your differential system across both axles.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Whilst the TRX7792 is a genuine OEM component with excellent quality, differential assembly and maintenance requires intermediate-level RC knowledge. Beginners are advised to seek assistance from experienced RC technicians or visit our Walsall store where our team can offer guidance on installation and maintenance.
  • What is the gear ratio with the 11-tooth pinion? — The combination of the 35-tooth ring gear with the 11-tooth pinion gear creates a 3.18:1 reduction ratio, which balances acceleration and top speed effectively for aggressive driving whilst maintaining control and stability.
  • Why would my ring gear fail? — Ring gear failure typically results from excessive shock loads (such as hard impacts), incorrect assembly, incompatible gear pairings, lack of lubrication, or simply wear over extended use in high-performance driving. The TRX7792's heavy-duty construction provides excellent resistance to these failure modes compared to standard components.
