Overview
The Radient EC5 Male (ESC End) connectors represent an essential component for RC hobbyists in the UK who work with electric RC cars, boats, and aircraft. Whether you're building a custom RC vehicle, upgrading your existing fleet, or maintaining your workshop setup, these connectors provide a straightforward and reliable solution for creating or maintaining ESC-end connections using the industry-standard EC5 connector format. This pack of five male EC5 connectors from Radient (part number RDNAC010067) ensures you have spare connectors available for routine maintenance, repairs, or building new power lead assemblies across your models.
EC5 connectors have become the gold standard in the RC hobby for high-current applications, particularly in brushless RC setups where power delivery is critical. The Radient EC5 Male connectors supplied here are specifically designed for the ESC end of your power leads, meaning they mate with the female receptacles on your Electronic Speed Controller. This simple, reliable interface helps keep power leads consistent across your RC car collection, RC helicopter fleet, or any other electric RC model you operate. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying RC off-road buggies and monster trucks or a dedicated enthusiast managing multiple vehicles, having a multi-pack of quality EC5 connectors in your workshop is invaluable for minimising downtime.
Supplied as a convenient pack of five pieces, these connectors are ideal for workshop use and routine maintenance. The compact, lightweight design means you can keep them stocked in your toolbox or spares drawer without taking up valuable space. With a recommended age of 14+, these connectors are suitable for young enthusiasts and adults alike who are ready to take their RC hobby to the next level with proper component management and maintenance.

- Male (ESC End) Configuration — Specifically designed as male connectors for the ESC end of your power leads, meaning they connect directly to the female receptacles on your speed controller, providing secure and reliable current transfer.
- Pack of Five Pieces — The multi-pack format gives you five connectors in one purchase, ideal for building multiple power lead assemblies, maintaining spare connectors for your fleet, or ensuring you always have backup connectors available for repairs and maintenance.
- Straightforward Design — These connectors feature a simple, reliable design that requires no special tools or complex assembly, making them accessible to RC hobbyists of all experience levels who need quick maintenance or repairs.
- Workshop Essential — Perfect for routine maintenance and spares management, allowing you to create consistent power connections across all your RC models and keep your hobby setup organised and ready to go.
- Lightweight and Compact — With an approximate shipping weight of just 0.04 kg, these connectors are extremely portable and perfect for keeping in your RC toolkit or workshop without adding significant bulk.
- Age-Appropriate Design — Recommended for hobbyists aged 14 and above, reflecting the fact that proper connector handling and power lead assembly requires some maturity and electrical awareness.
Technical Performance
The Radient EC5 Male (ESC End) connectors represent a critical component in your RC electrical system architecture. These connectors are engineered to handle the high current demands of modern brushless RC setups, whether you're running a high-performance 1/10-scale RC car, a 1/8-scale off-road buggy, or any other electric-powered RC model. The EC5 standard itself has become the benchmark for RC connectors because of its ability to minimise electrical resistance and safely transfer substantial amounts of current without overheating or voltage drop. The male configuration supplied in this pack is specifically engineered for connection to the ESC (Electronic Speed Controller), which is the brain of your RC vehicle's electrical system, regulating power from your LiPo battery to your brushless motor. The quality of your connectors directly impacts the performance, efficiency, and safety of your RC setup — poor connections can lead to voltage sag, reduced acceleration, and potential component damage. These Radient connectors are built to maintain consistent, low-resistance connections that preserve the full potential of your brushless power system. The materials and construction have been selected to ensure durability through repeated connect-disconnect cycles, which is essential if you regularly maintain, repair, or reconfigure your RC models. With five connectors in each pack, you can build multiple power leads or maintain an inventory of spares, ensuring you're never caught without the correct connector when you need to perform roadside repairs or swap configurations during a track day or basking session.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is an EC5 connector and why do I need it for my RC car? — The EC5 connector is an industry-standard high-current connector widely used in the RC hobby, particularly for brushless systems. It provides a secure, low-resistance connection between your battery and ESC, or between your ESC and motor connections. EC5 connectors are essential for reliable power delivery in high-performance RC vehicles, and having spare connectors allows you to create custom power lead assemblies or replace damaged connectors without purchasing entire new cables.
- Is this the male or female end, and which do I need? — These are male EC5 connectors specifically configured for the ESC end of your power lead. Male connectors have protruding pins, while female connectors have recessed sockets. The ESC end typically uses male connectors that insert into female receptacles on the speed controller. If you need female connectors or connectors for the battery end, you would need a different product.
- Can I use these connectors with any RC vehicle? — EC5 connectors are compatible with most modern brushless RC setups, including 1/10-scale RC cars, 1/8-scale buggies, RC trucks, and other electric-powered RC vehicles that feature EC5-compatible ESC units. However, you should verify that your specific ESC has female EC5 receptacles before purchasing. Some older or entry-level RC systems may use different connector types such as JST or XT60.
- Do I need soldering skills to use these connectors? — To connect these male EC5 plugs to power lead wires, you will need to solder the internal pins to your wire. This requires basic soldering equipment and skills. If you don't have soldering experience, you may want to ask a friend with electrical knowledge to help, or consider purchasing pre-assembled power leads instead.
- Why would I need a pack of five connectors? — Having multiple connectors allows you to build several power lead assemblies, maintain spare connectors for repairs, or swap configurations between different RC models. If you run multiple brushless RC vehicles or work as a mechanic for a club, having extra connectors in your workshop ensures you can always complete repairs and maintenance without ordering new parts.
- Are these suitable for 3S, 4S, or 6S LiPo batteries? — EC5 connectors are rated for high-current applications across a wide voltage range, making them suitable for 3S, 4S, 6S, and even higher-capacity LiPo batteries commonly used in RC vehicles. The limiting factor is typically the wire gauge used with the connector, not the voltage of the battery.
- What is the difference between EC5 and other connectors like XT60? — EC5 connectors are larger and generally handle higher currents more efficiently than XT60 connectors, making them the preferred choice for high-performance RC vehicles. XT60 connectors are smaller and commonly found on smaller-scale RC models and batteries.
