Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Hobbywing ESC models is this capacitor module compatible with? — The Capacitor Module 'A' is specifically designed for use with Hobbywing's Xerun 160A V-series XR10 Series, Ezrun range, and Quicrun controllers used in 1/10th scale RC cars. You should verify your specific ESC model is listed among these compatible controllers before purchasing.
- Do I need a capacitor module for my RC car? — Capacitor modules are highly recommended for any serious RC racer running brushless motors and modern ESCs, particularly if you experience any issues with electrical noise, voltage spikes, or radio interference. They are considered essential upgrades by competitive RC racers in the UK who demand maximum reliability and performance from their equipment.
- Will a capacitor module make my RC car faster? — While a capacitor module doesn't directly increase top speed, it optimises power delivery and electrical stability, which translates to more responsive acceleration, smoother throttle control, and better overall handling characteristics. In practical terms, this means more consistent lap times and better performance in competitive racing situations.
- Is installation difficult for someone new to RC cars? — Installation should be performed by someone with intermediate electronics experience. If you're unfamiliar with soldering and RC car electronics assembly, we recommend seeking guidance from experienced RC enthusiasts or visiting our store in Walsall where our team can provide expert advice.
- What is the difference between capacitor modules and battery packs? — Capacitor modules and batteries serve different purposes in RC car electrical systems. Batteries provide sustained power throughout your run, whilst capacitor modules smooth electrical current delivery and protect components from voltage spikes. Many advanced RC setups use both components together for optimal performance.
- Can I use this capacitor module with other ESC brands? — This module is specifically engineered for Hobbywing ESC models as listed. Using it with non-compatible ESC brands may not provide the intended benefits and could potentially cause compatibility issues. Always verify compatibility before purchasing.
