Overview
The Hobbywing Xerun Axe Extended Wire Set 150mm (R2) is an essential spare part for RC enthusiasts who are upgrading or customising their brushless RC power systems. This sensor extension wire has been specifically engineered to solve a common problem faced by RC car UK owners: when you mount the Axe R2 or R3 power system combo onto your chassis, the original sensor wire connecting the motor to the ESC may simply not be long enough to reach properly. This extension wire eliminates that frustration, allowing you to achieve the optimal cable routing you need for a clean, professional installation without stress or strain on your connectors.
Whether you're building a ready to run RC vehicle, setting up a competition-grade brushless RC car, or simply upgrading your existing setup, having the correct wire length is critical for both reliability and performance. The Hobbywing Xerun Axe Extended Wire Set 150mm provides the extra length you need in a quality product from one of the world's most trusted names in brushless motor and ESC technology. This is genuine OEM Hobbywing stock, ensuring perfect compatibility with your Axe R2 and R3 brushless power systems.
As a UK RC retailer with deep expertise in brushless systems, we recognise that proper cable management is not just about aesthetics—it's about durability and performance. This extension wire is manufactured to the same high standards as the original Hobbywing components, guaranteeing that you're investing in a product built to last and perform reliably in competitive and casual RC driving scenarios alike.
Key Features
- 150mm Extension Length — The wire is precisely 150mm in length (excluding the two connectors), giving you enough additional cable routing flexibility to accommodate larger chassis designs, custom mounting positions, or more complex power system layouts where the stock sensor wire simply doesn't reach far enough.
- OEM Hobbywing Quality — This is an official Hobbywing stock spare part manufactured to the exact same standards as the components included in genuine Axe R2 and R3 power system combos, guaranteeing perfect electrical compatibility and long-term reliability in your brushless RC setup.
- Sensor Wire Specifically Designed — This is not a generic extension cable; it is a special extension wire purposefully designed for sensor communication between the brushless motor and ESC in the Axe system, ensuring proper signal transmission and motor telemetry data.
- Compatible with Axe R2 and R3 Systems — Engineered to work seamlessly with Hobbywing's Axe R2 and R3 brushless power system combinations, making it an ideal spare part or upgrade component for owners of these systems across the UK and internationally.
- Professional Connector Configuration — The wire terminates with two connectors at either end, allowing you to integrate it cleanly into your existing motor and ESC without any adapters, modifications, or workarounds.
Technical Performance
The Hobbywing Xerun Axe Extended Wire Set 150mm represents premium engineering from a manufacturer with decades of experience in brushless motor and ESC development. This sensor extension wire is constructed using high-quality copper conductors and shielding designed to minimise electrical noise and interference, ensuring clean signal transmission between your brushless motor and electronic speed controller. The 150mm length provides substantial extra reach beyond the standard sensor wire included in Axe R2 and R3 power system combos, making it essential for RC car enthusiasts who are building custom layouts, using larger chassis platforms, or installing their brushless power systems in non-standard positions. The connectors are precision-moulded and contact-rated for reliable electrical connection under all driving conditions. Whether you're competing in time trials, enjoying weekend bashing sessions, or running your brushless RC vehicle in challenging terrain, this extension wire maintains signal integrity and reliability. Hobbywing's attention to detail in every component—from the conductor gauge to the insulation thickness—reflects their commitment to quality that has made them the choice of serious RC racers and hobbyists worldwide. This is a genuine stock spare part, not an aftermarket alternative, meaning it carries the same durability expectations as the original equipment it extends.

What You Need to Complete
This is a replacement spare part and extension wire. You will need an existing Axe R2 or R3 brushless power system (motor and ESC combo) to use this extension wire. The wire is designed to extend the sensor cable length between your motor and ESC, so you should only purchase this if you require additional cable length for your specific installation.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need this extension wire for my Axe R2 brushless power system? — You only need this extension wire if the standard sensor cable that comes with your Axe R2 or R3 power system is too short to reach from your motor to your ESC in your chosen chassis. If your current cable reaches comfortably without strain, you don't need it. However, if you're experiencing cable tension, poor routing, or simply running a larger chassis, this 150mm extension is the perfect solution.
- What is the difference between the 150mm and 300mm versions? — Hobbywing offers this extension wire in two sizes: the 150mm version provides a moderate extension suitable for most custom setups and larger chassis designs, whilst the 300mm version (part number HW30850307) offers significantly more length for very large platforms or complex custom installations. Choose based on your specific cable run length requirements.
- Is this compatible with all Axe power systems? — This extension wire is designed specifically for the Axe R2 and Axe R3 brushless power system combinations. It is a sensor extension wire for the motor-to-ESC communication cable, so compatibility is limited to these two generations of Axe systems.
- Will this improve the performance of my brushless RC car? — This extension wire itself doesn't improve raw speed or acceleration; rather, it solves installation problems that could negatively impact performance. By allowing you to run the sensor cable properly without strain or poor routing, you ensure optimal signal transmission and system reliability, which indirectly supports consistent performance during racing or bashing sessions.
- Can I use this with other Hobbywing ESCs or motors? — This is a specialist sensor extension wire designed specifically for the Axe R2 and R3 power system ecosystems. It is not a universal extension cable and should only be used with compatible Axe systems to ensure proper electrical compatibility and connector matching.
