Technical Performance
The Skywalker 2312SL 2450KV motor delivers outstanding technical specifications tailored for high-performance fixed-wing aircraft. With a KV rating of 2450, this motor spins at approximately 2,450 revolutions per minute per volt applied, making it ideal for 3S LiPo battery systems that typically provide 11.1 volts nominal. The motor achieves a maximum continuous current of 47 amps over a 10-minute period, with maximum continuous power output of 520 watts at 10 minutes, giving you sustained high-performance flying without the motor overheating. The internal resistance is exceptionally low at just 19.3 milliohms, which means minimal voltage drop and maximum efficiency in power delivery. The 12-slot, 14-pole (12N14P) stator and rotor configuration provides excellent torque characteristics and smooth power delivery across the entire RPM range. The motor features high-quality 684ZZ ball bearings (9mm outer diameter, 4mm inner diameter, 4mm width) that ensure smooth, low-friction rotation and long operational life. The 4mm shaft diameter is perfectly sized to accommodate standard aircraft propeller adapters whilst providing robust power transmission without flex or play. With a no-load current draw of just 4.1 amps at 11.1 volts, the motor is extremely efficient even when running without a propeller load. The 18AWG phase cable at 100mm length provides ample lead length for routing through your aircraft fuselage whilst the gauge is substantial enough to handle the 47-amp continuous current without voltage drop. Mounting is straightforward with M2.5 threaded mounting holes on a 12mm diameter pitch circle, and the motor accepts both 16mm and 19mm diameter propeller adapters with M3 mounting threads. This is a brushless, sensorless motor design, meaning it requires an electronic speed controller to operate and provides maximum efficiency with modern lithium polymer battery systems used by RC pilots throughout the UK.
