This sensorless and sensored-compatible ESC handles continuous currents of 45 amps with peak burst capability reaching 200 amps, delivering the consistent, reliable power delivery that modern brushless motors demand. The unit accepts 2-cell through 3-cell lithium polymer (LiPo) battery configurations, with a maximum input voltage rating of 11.1 volts (3S nominal). The integrated BEC system outputs switchable 6-volt or 7.4-volt power rails, each capable of sustaining 4 amps continuous draw with 7-amp peak output, providing sufficient capacity for multiple servos and electronic accessories. Construction dimensions measure a compact 39.2 millimetres in length by 29.2 millimetres in width by 25.6 millimetres in height, with the entire assembly weighing just 57 grams including all factory-installed wiring harnesses and connectors. The housing utilises premium materials and sealed construction techniques to achieve IP67 protection, rendering the ESC resistant to water ingress and dust contamination during normal recreational use. The intelligent freewheeling algorithm continuously optimises power distribution pathways, reducing resistive heating and extending runtime whilst maintaining exceptional throttle response and precise motor control. When paired with sensorless brushless motors — or sensored motors running in sensorless mode — the QuicRun 12BL45 G2 delivers smooth, predictable acceleration characteristics and stable top-end performance across the full throttle range. The independent programming port accepts standard Hobbywing LCD G2 and LED programming boxes, enabling comprehensive parameter customisation including throttle curves, brake strength, timing advance, and voltage cutoff thresholds without requiring dedicated computer software or OTA wireless connectivity.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Hobbywing QuicRun 12BL45 G2 suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. The QuicRun 12BL45 G2 is specifically designed for entry-level users who are new to brushless RC driving. Hobbywing engineered this ESC to inherit the company's outstanding quality whilst maintaining an easy-to-operate interface that doesn't require complicated debugging or advanced technical knowledge. The straightforward SET button programming method allows beginners to adjust basic parameters directly on the ESC without purchasing expensive additional equipment. The predictable, smooth performance characteristics make it ideal for learning proper RC driving techniques.
- What battery does the Hobbywing QuicRun 12BL45 G2 require? — This ESC accepts 2-cell or 3-cell lithium polymer (LiPo) battery packs, with a maximum input voltage rating of 11.1 volts (3S nominal). Most UK RC enthusiasts running 1/12th and 1/14th scale vehicles use 3S LiPo batteries (11.1V nominal) for optimal performance, though 2S configurations (7.4V nominal) are also supported if you prefer lower speed or extended runtime. The factory-installed XT60 connector can be upgraded to Deans, IC2, or XT30 formats if your existing batteries use different connectors.
- Can this ESC work with sensored motors? — The QuicRun 12BL45 G2 is compatible with both sensorless brushless motors and sensored brushless motors. However, when using sensored motors, the ESC operates in sensorless mode only — it does not utilise the motor's built-in position sensors. For optimal performance, pairing with Hobbywing's QuicRun 2840 or 2850 G2 sensorless brushless motors is recommended, as these motors are engineered specifically for this ESC and deliver the smoothest power output and best control performance.
