Overview

The Team Associated Silicone Diff Fluid 8000cSt AS5445 is a genuine silicone differential fluid designed specifically for RC cars and buggies that require precise differential tuning. Whether you're running a competitive RC buggy on the track, bashing an RC monster truck off-road, or fine-tuning your RC car's handling characteristics, selecting the correct differential fluid viscosity is crucial for optimal performance. This 8000cSt silicone fluid from Team Associated, a recognised leader in the RC hobby industry, offers the exact viscosity rating needed for many popular RC vehicles and competition setups throughout the UK RC community.

Differential fluid plays a vital role in controlling how your RC car's differential operates during cornering, acceleration and deceleration. The viscosity rating – in this case 8000cSt – determines how thick the fluid is and how quickly it flows through the differential internals. Team Associated's silicone diff fluid is formulated to provide consistent performance across a wide range of ambient temperatures, making it suitable for both indoor track racing and outdoor RC car use. For anyone serious about RC performance, whether you're a weekend basher enjoying RC off-road trucks or a competitive racer demanding precision handling, having the correct differential fluid is non-negotiable.

This straightforward choice delivers genuine Team Associated quality when you need 8000cSt silicone diff fluid from a trusted brand with a solid reputation throughout the UK RC hobby scene. The bottle size and formulation ensure you have sufficient fluid for multiple differential fills and adjustments, allowing you to experiment with tuning to find the perfect setup for your specific RC vehicle and driving style.

Key Features

  • Genuine Team Associated Product — This is an official Team Associated part (AS5445), ensuring you receive authentic fluid formulated to Team Associated's exact specifications rather than a generic alternative, which guarantees compatibility and performance with Team Associated RC cars and buggies.
  • 8000cSt Viscosity Rating — The 8000cSt viscosity specification makes this fluid suitable for a wide range of RC vehicles and differential setups, providing the exact thickness needed for many popular competition and recreational RC cars, buggies, and trucks available in the UK RC market.
  • Silicone-Based Formula — Silicone differential fluids like this offer superior temperature stability compared to standard oils, meaning your differential will perform consistently whether you're racing indoors in heated halls or bashing outdoors in variable UK weather conditions.
  • Precise Tuning Control — By using the correct viscosity differential fluid, you can fine-tune how your RC car behaves during cornering and acceleration, allowing competitive drivers to dial in their handling characteristics for specific track conditions or racing styles.
  • Quality Assurance — As a genuine Team Associated part, this fluid meets the manufacturer's quality standards and has been tested to work reliably with Team Associated RC vehicles, giving you confidence in the product's performance and longevity.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated Silicone Diff Fluid 8000cSt delivers the specific viscosity required for sophisticated differential tuning on competition and recreational RC vehicles. With an 8000cSt rating under the standard cSt (centistoke) viscosity measurement system, this fluid provides the right balance of thickness and flow characteristics for RC cars that have been set up or tuned to use this particular viscosity. Silicone-based formulations like this offer superior performance across temperature variations, which is essential when you're racing at different times of year or in different UK locations where ambient temperatures can vary significantly. The engineering behind Team Associated's fluid formulation ensures it remains stable and performs predictably, whether you're running your RC buggy in a warm indoor arena or taking your RC off-road truck out for an outdoor bashing session on a cold winter day. The fluid's performance characteristics mean it will maintain its viscosity properties throughout extended use, allowing you to maintain consistent differential behaviour across multiple runs and racing sessions without degradation or separation.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is differential fluid and why do I need it for my RC car? — Differential fluid is the lubricant and control medium inside your RC car's differential, the component that allows the rear wheels to turn at different speeds during cornering. The viscosity (thickness) of the fluid directly affects how your RC vehicle handles – thicker fluid (higher cSt rating) provides more locking effect and stability, whilst thinner fluid allows more differentiation between the wheels. Choosing the correct viscosity like this 8000cSt fluid is essential for tuning your RC car's handling to match your driving style and track conditions.
  • Is Team Associated Silicone Diff Fluid 8000cSt suitable for beginners? — Whilst this is a genuine Team Associated product with excellent quality, choosing the correct differential fluid viscosity is more relevant to intermediate and advanced RC car drivers who are actively tuning their vehicles for performance. Beginners should first determine what viscosity their specific RC car requires from the manufacturer's manual or documentation. Once you know your car needs 8000cSt fluid, this Team Associated product is an excellent choice regardless of experience level.
  • How much fluid do I need and how long does one bottle last? — The amount of differential fluid required depends on your specific RC vehicle model and differential design. A single bottle typically provides sufficient fluid for several differential fills or for experimentation with different viscosities. Many RC drivers keep multiple viscosity ratings on hand to fine-tune performance for different conditions, so this bottle represents good value as part of a tuning kit.
  • What is the difference between 8000cSt and other viscosity ratings? — Differential fluids come in various viscosity ratings, typically ranging from light (3000cSt) to heavy (15000cSt or higher). Lower viscosity fluids (thinner) allow more wheel slip and differentiation, whilst higher viscosity fluids (thicker) provide more locking effect. The 8000cSt rating sits in the mid-to-heavy range, making it suitable for vehicles that need a balance between differentiation and locking characteristics, or for drivers preferring slightly more aggressive handling during cornering.
  • Why should I choose Team Associated differential fluid over generic alternatives? — Team Associated's formulation is engineered specifically for their RC vehicles and has been tested to deliver consistent performance and reliability. Generic oils may vary in their actual viscosity, additives, or stability, potentially causing inconsistent handling or differential wear. Using genuine Team Associated fluid ensures you're getting exactly what the manufacturer specifies, which is particularly important for competitive racing where small handling differences matter significantly.
  • Can I use this fluid in any RC car or only Team Associated vehicles? — Whilst the 8000cSt viscosity rating is a standard measurement used across the entire RC hobby, the fluid itself is formulated by Team Associated. It will work in any RC vehicle that specifies 8000cSt differential fluid, though it was originally engineered for Team Associated products. Always check your specific RC car's manual to confirm the recommended viscosity before purchasing.
