Overview
The RC4WD Knuckle Bushings for Yota II Axle (Z-S1784) represent an essential upgrade and maintenance solution for RC enthusiasts across the UK who are serious about keeping their scale crawlers in peak condition. These precision-engineered bushings are specifically designed to service and rebuild the steering knuckles on RC4WD's highly respected Yota II axle systems, ensuring your RC car maintains responsive steering geometry and smooth articulation on the trail. Whether you're a dedicated scale crawler builder, a weekend basher pushing your rig to its limits, or a hobbyist who demands factory-fresh performance from every component, this matched set of eight CNC machined steel bushings delivers the quality and precision that RC4WD is renowned for throughout the global RC community.
Steering knuckle bushings are critical suspension components that can wear over time through regular use, causing play in the steering arms and reducing the accuracy of your vehicle's handling. The Yota II steering system is a cornerstone of modern scale RC crawling, and maintaining its integrity requires genuine replacement parts manufactured to exacting standards. This comprehensive bushing set provides everything you need to refresh your steering knuckles without hunting through multiple suppliers or compromising on quality. For UK-based RC car enthusiasts building or maintaining a Yota II axle setup, these bushings represent an affordable yet essential investment in reliability and performance.
RC4WD has engineered these bushings with a two-width configuration that perfectly matches the geometry of Yota II steering knuckles, offering a factory-style restoration that maintains the integrity of your scale axle build. The attention to detail and precision manufacturing that goes into every RC4WD product is evident in these bushings, making them the go-to choice for anyone serious about maintaining their RC crawler or building a new Yota II setup from the ground up.
Key Features
- Matched Set of Eight Bushings — This package includes four wide knuckle bushings and four narrow knuckle bushings, providing a complete matched set that covers all steering knuckle positions on your Yota II axle, eliminating the need to source components from multiple suppliers.
- CNC Machined Steel Construction — Each bushing is precision-manufactured from high-quality steel using advanced CNC machinery, ensuring consistent tolerances, perfect dimensional accuracy, and durability through countless hours of crawling, bashing and competition use.
- Dual-Width Configuration — The set features two different widths (3.7mm narrow and 5.7mm wide) specifically designed to fit different positions within the steering knuckle assembly, mirroring the factory engineering of the genuine Yota II system.
- Minimal Total Weight — At just 4 grams total, this bushing set adds negligible mass to your suspension system, maintaining the lightweight characteristics essential for scale crawling performance and battery efficiency.
- Factory-Style Aesthetic — The black finish and precision engineering deliver a factory-fresh appearance that complements quality scale builds, ensuring your internal components look as good as they perform.
- 3mm Bushing Hole Diameter — The precisely dimensioned 3mm outer diameter bushing hole ensures perfect fit compatibility with genuine RC4WD Yota II axle components and maintains strict engineering tolerances.
Technical Performance
These RC4WD Knuckle Bushings represent the gold standard in replacement steering components for scale RC crawlers. Manufactured from high-grade steel through CNC precision machining, every bushing maintains exact dimensional consistency with a 3mm outer diameter and your choice of two widths: 3.7mm for narrow positions and 5.7mm for wide positions. The engineering precision ensures zero play in your steering knuckle assembly, which directly translates to sharper turn-in, more predictable handling on technical terrain, and better feedback through your transmitter. The minimalist weight of just 4 grams across all eight bushings means you're adding virtually no unsprung mass to your suspension system, critical for maintaining the responsive, articulate performance that makes RC crawling so rewarding. Whether you're running a Yota II Ultimate Scale Cast Axle in the front position (Z-A0080) or the centre-front position (Z-A0086), these bushings provide the wear resistance and dimensional stability that high-quality scale RC requires. The black finish is durable and resistant to the dirt, mud and washout conditions that are part of authentic RC trail driving, whilst maintaining the factory aesthetic that serious builders appreciate. Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC mechanical knowledge, and the replaceable nature of these components means your Yota II axle can maintain showroom condition indefinitely through planned maintenance and component refresh cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are steering knuckle bushings and why do I need them? — Steering knuckle bushings are small cylindrical components that provide low-friction pivot points within your RC car's steering knuckles, allowing the steering arms to articulate smoothly whilst maintaining precision geometry. Over time with regular use, these bushings can wear, creating unwanted play in the steering system that reduces handling accuracy and responsiveness. Replacing worn bushings with this RC4WD genuine replacement set restores your steering to factory specifications and ensures your Yota II axle performs at its best.
- Will these bushings fit my existing Yota II axle? — Yes, these bushings are engineered specifically for RC4WD Yota II Ultimate Scale Cast Axles in both Front (Z-A0080) and Centre Front (Z-A0086) configurations. If you own either of these genuine RC4WD axles, these bushings will fit perfectly. If you have a different Yota II variant from another manufacturer, compatibility may not be guaranteed, so check with the axle manufacturer before ordering.
- How difficult is it to replace the bushings? — Replacing steering knuckle bushings requires basic RC mechanical skills and tools typically found in any RC builder's toolkit, including small screwdrivers and potentially a small ball-end wrench depending on your knuckle design. The process involves disassembling the steering knuckle, removing worn bushings, and installing the new ones in the correct positions. Most experienced RC hobbyists can complete the job in 20-30 minutes per knuckle pair, though first-timers may take longer. If you're uncertain about the process, RC Model Shop staff are happy to provide guidance or advice via telephone on 01543 577278.
- What is the difference between the wide and narrow bushings? — The Yota II steering knuckle design features mounting positions with different widths to accommodate the steering arm pivot geometry. The wide bushings (5.7mm) are installed in positions that require additional bearing surface area, whilst the narrow bushings (3.7mm) fit positions with tighter spacing. This RC4WD set includes both widths so you have the correct component for every position, ensuring proper fit and optimal steering performance.
- How often should I replace my steering knuckle bushings? — The lifespan depends on use intensity, driving conditions and maintenance. Casual weekend drivers may only need replacement every 12-24 months, whilst competition crawlers or heavy bashers running daily might replace them every 3-6 months. Regular maintenance inspections of your steering system will alert you when bushings show signs of wear or play.
- Are these bushings compatible with older Yota axle designs? — No, these bushings are specifically engineered for Yota II axles and are not compatible with the original Yota generation or other manufacturer's axles. Attempting to force them into incompatible knuckles risks damaging both the bushings and your steering components. Always verify your axle model before ordering.
