Overview
The RC4WD 750 Crawler Brushed Motor (Z-E0074) is a purpose-built motor designed specifically for demanding RC crawler applications and scale driving enthusiasts. This larger 750-can brushed motor combines robust engineering with precision performance, making it an ideal choice for rock climbing, scale crawling, and technical terrain work. Whether you're building a custom RC crawler in the UK or upgrading an existing setup, this motor delivers the high-torque characteristics that serious RC off-road drivers demand.
Engineered by RC4WD, a recognised leader in scale RC products, the 750 motor features a custom-made steel case with chrome plating, ensuring durability and longevity in demanding conditions. This motor is tuned specifically for rock climbing and scale driving applications, meaning it has been optimised for the low-speed, high-torque characteristics essential for navigating obstacles rather than chasing top speed. It's perfect for anyone looking to upgrade their RC car UK build with a professional-grade motor that can handle the rigours of scale crawling.
With a wide voltage range of 2.4–30V, this brushed motor offers exceptional versatility. It can be integrated into various RC crawler setups, including systems using Killer Krawler II axles, and works seamlessly in multiple applications. The built-in capacitor minimises electrical glitching, ensuring smoother, more reliable operation during complex manoeuvres on technical terrain.
Key Features
- Custom-made 750 Steel Case — The larger can size provides greater internal volume for motor windings, allowing for higher torque output and better heat dissipation during extended crawling sessions. This construction is heavier and more durable than smaller motor sizes, making it suitable for serious scale work.
- Chrome-plated Case — The chrome plating protects the steel case from corrosion and adds a professional, finished appearance to your RC crawler build. This is especially important if you're using your RC car outdoors in UK weather conditions where moisture exposure is common.
- High-torque Magnet and Rotor — The premium magnet and rotor assembly delivers impressive torque output, essential for crawling over rocks and obstacles at low speeds without bogging down. This means your RC crawler can maintain momentum through challenging terrain where weaker motors would struggle.
- Built-in Capacitor for Glitch Minimisation — The integrated capacitor reduces electrical noise and interference, preventing the jerky, unpredictable behaviour that can occur with brushed motors in systems with electrical spikes. This results in smoother, more controlled power delivery during delicate scale movements.
- Tuned for Rock Climbing and Scale Driving — Unlike high-speed competition motors, this unit has been specifically tuned by RC4WD engineers to prioritise torque and control over raw RPM. This makes it far better suited to technical crawling than general-purpose motors, allowing you to conquer obstacles that demand precision.
- Wide Voltage Compatibility (2.4–30V) — This exceptional voltage range means the motor can be used with various battery configurations, from 1S LiPo packs up to 10S multi-cell setups. This flexibility makes it compatible with many existing RC crawler builds and gives you options for customisation.
Technical Performance
The RC4WD 750 Crawler Brushed Motor delivers impressive performance characteristics engineered specifically for scale crawling rather than racing. At no load, the motor spins at 15,050 RPM whilst drawing only 1.88 amps, demonstrating its efficiency at low power. The motor's stall torque reaches an impressive 2,100 mN·m (extrapolated), with a stall current of 30.8 amps—figures that showcase the tremendous pulling power available when the motor is under load. At maximum efficiency, the motor delivers 56.41% efficiency, producing 416.0 mN·m of torque at 12,067 RPM whilst consuming just 7.61 amps and outputting 51.5 watts. When maximum power is demanded, the motor can produce an impressive 81.8 watts of output, delivering 1,049.5 mN·m of torque at 7,525 RPM with a current draw of 16.34 amps. The physical construction measures 1.65 inches (42 mm) in outside diameter and 2.36 inches (60 mm) in length, with an output shaft measuring 0.67 inches (17 mm) in length and 0.2 inches (5 mm) in outside diameter. The motor weighs a substantial 270 grams (9.52 oz), reflecting its robust construction and internal components designed for sustained high-torque operation. This performance profile makes the 750 ideal for crawlers that need controlled, powerful torque delivery rather than speed.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What voltage battery does the RC4WD 750 Crawler Brushed Motor need? — The motor operates across an exceptional voltage range of 2.4–30V, meaning it can be used with 1S, 2S, 3S, 4S, 5S LiPo batteries and even higher-cell configurations. This makes it incredibly versatile—you can match the motor to your existing RC crawler battery setup or choose a battery that delivers the power characteristics you want for your specific terrain.
- Is this motor suitable for beginners building their first RC crawler? — Yes, this motor is suitable for beginners because it prioritises control and torque over complexity. However, you'll need to understand basic motor installation and have soldering skills (or access to a soldering service) to integrate it into your RC car. The straightforward brushed design is more forgiving than brushless alternatives, making it a good learning option for those upgrading an existing crawler.
- What makes the 750 size better than smaller motors? — The 750-can size offers a larger internal volume, allowing for bigger permanent magnets and more copper windings. This translates to significantly higher torque output, which is crucial for rock climbing and scale driving where you need pulling power to conquer obstacles rather than raw speed.
- Will this motor fit my RC crawler? — The RC4WD 750 is confirmed compatible with Killer Krawler II axles, making it an excellent choice if you're building around that axle platform. Before purchasing, confirm that your motor can, or your RC chassis has a motor mounting plate designed for motors with a 42 mm diameter case and 17 mm output shaft length.
- How does a 750 brushed motor compare to brushless alternatives? — Brushed motors like this are simpler to control with a basic ESC, more affordable than brushless options, and produce smooth, predictable torque curves ideal for technical crawling. Brushless motors typically offer higher efficiency and less maintenance, but for scale rock crawling specifically, a brushed motor's characteristics are often preferred by dedicated enthusiasts.
