These tyres are not simply a rubber product—they represent the culmination of Louise RC's decades of tyre development expertise, combining advanced materials science with meticulous manufacturing processes. The soft compound is specifically formulated to deliver maximum grip when your tyres reach racing temperature, which is why experienced drivers always recommend warming up your tyres with a few practice laps before pushing for competitive times. The thoughtful engineering extends to every detail, from the carefully selected foam inserts that provide perfect dampening and form stability, to the advanced adhesive bonding process that ensures your tyres stay firmly attached during the extreme forces of high-speed racing, cornering and jumping.
If you're serious about RC buggy racing or want to upgrade your basher with competition-grade equipment, this Louise RC tyre set belongs on your 1/8 off-road buggy. Backed by years of proven track success and manufactured to the highest standards, it's the tyre choice of champions and dedicated hobbyists alike across the UK RC community.
Key Features
- Pre-Mounted and Glued — The tyres arrive ready to use, already professionally glued to the black spoke wheels using Louise RC's proprietary rubber cyanoacrylate adhesive. This saves you hours of preparation time and eliminates the risk of improper bonding, ensuring the tyres will withstand the extreme forces of racing without separating from the rims.
- Soft Competition Compound — The racing-grade soft rubber compound is engineered to provide exceptional grip whilst managing wear and tear across multiple driving sessions. This compound generates significantly more traction as it reaches operating temperature, rewarding drivers who dedicate time to proper warm-up procedures.
- Universal 17mm Hex Fitment — With the standard 17mm wheel hex adapter, these tyres fit the vast majority of 1/8 scale buggies including popular models from Associated, Losi, Arrma, Team Corally, Mugen, Sworkz, Carson, Hobao, X-Ray and many others. Check the manufacturer's compatibility chart to confirm fitment with your specific model.
- Precision Foam Inserts Included — The molded foam inserts are specifically selected for density and size to guarantee perfect dampening and form stability. These inserts work together with the soft tyre compound to absorb impacts whilst maintaining consistent contact patch geometry, which is essential for predictable handling during competitive driving.
- Advanced Materials and Engineering — The black spoke wheels are manufactured from high-quality nylon composite materials developed specifically for Louise RC by DuPont. These composites provide the critical balance of flexibility and strength required to withstand extreme cornering forces, landing impacts from high jumps, and the cumulative stresses of intensive racing.
- Professional Manufacturing Standards — Every tyre undergoes rigorous quality control including spinning tests and pulling tests to verify perfect bonding. The manufacturing process involves grinding and degreasing both the tyre rings and wheel surfaces, precise cyanoacrylate adhesive application via special dosing machines, and compression curing to guarantee that each tyre will perform reliably under race conditions.
- Race-Proven Performance — The B-Uphill designation reflects a tyre design that has been proven across competitive RC racing platforms. This isn't a budget tyre—it's equipment used by serious racers who demand consistent performance and reliability lap after lap.
Technical Performance
The Louise RC B-Uphill tyre set delivers technical specifications engineered specifically for 1/8 scale off-road buggy competition. With a tyre diameter of 118mm and width of 44mm, these tyres provide optimal contact patch dimensions for the 1/8 buggy class. The total wheel and tyre weight of 131 grams per tyre represents a carefully balanced combination of material selection and construction design—heavy enough to provide stable dampening through the molded foam inserts, yet optimised to minimise unsprung weight. The 3.3-inch (83mm) rim bead diameter accommodates the standard sizing for 1/8 buggy platforms. The zero offset rim design contributes to predictable handling characteristics and even tyre wear patterns. All of this engineering work comes together in a tyre system that behaves consistently across a wide range of track conditions, temperatures and driving techniques. The soft compound performs best once properly warmed up, after which it delivers the grip necessary to extract maximum corner speed and maintain control during aggressive acceleration and braking events. For drivers running modern brushless 4WD 1/8 buggies with LiPo battery systems, these tyres provide the grip level needed to fully utilise the high power output of contemporary racing platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What 1/8 buggy models are compatible with these Louise RC B-Uphill tyres? — These tyres feature universal 17mm hex fitment and are compatible with all 1/8 scale buggies using standard 17mm wheel adapters. This includes popular models such as the Associated RC8, Associated DB8, Arrma Typhon, Losi 8ight, Mugen MBX Series, Team Corally Python XP, X-Ray XB8, Sworkz S35, Carson Virus, Carson Specter, Hobao Hyper VS, Absima Stoke, and many others. Louise RC provides a comprehensive tyre and wheel compatibility chart on their website that you should consult to confirm fitment with your specific RC buggy model before purchasing.
- Are these tyres suitable for racing or just casual bashing? — The B-Uphill soft compound is specifically formulated as a competition-level racing tyre, making it ideally suited for drivers who want to compete seriously with their 1/8 buggy or extract maximum performance during driving sessions. The soft compound requires proper warm-up to reach peak grip levels, which is standard practice in organised RC racing. That said, the durability and grip of these tyres make them equally suitable for dedicated enthusiasts doing high-performance recreational bashing, though casual drivers might find the performance characteristics more forgiving with harder compound options.
- Why are these tyres pre-mounted and glued? — Pre-mounted and glued tyres eliminate the time-consuming and skill-dependent process of mounting and bonding tyres yourself. Louise RC's proprietary rubber cyanoacrylate adhesive, applied with precision dosing machines and validated through spinning and pulling tests, provides a bond that will withstand the extreme forces of racing without failure. For competitive drivers, this means more time driving and less time in the workshop, plus the assurance that your tyres are bonded using professional manufacturing standards rather than home workshop methods.
- What is the difference between soft and super soft compounds? — Louise RC offers both soft and super soft racing compounds in the B-Uphill range. The soft compound (this product) provides an excellent balance of grip and durability, making it suitable for a wide range of track conditions and driving styles. Super soft compounds offer slightly more maximum grip but typically wear faster and may be more prone to overheating in warm conditions. Many drivers choose soft compound as the better all-around option for most racing scenarios, and then experiment with super soft only on specific track conditions where maximum grip is required despite faster wear rates.
- Do I need to prepare these tyres when they arrive? — No, the tyres arrive pre-mounted on black spoke wheels and already glued, with foam inserts installed. You can fit them to your 1/8 buggy immediately. The only preparation recommended is warming up the tyres with several practice laps before competitive driving, which allows the soft compound to reach its optimal operating temperature and deliver maximum grip.
- What foam inserts are included? — The B-Uphill soft tyre set includes molded foam inserts that have been specifically selected for density and size to provide perfect dampening and form stability when paired with the soft rubber compound. These inserts absorb impacts and help maintain consistent tyre shape during cornering and jumps, which is essential for predictable vehicle handling and optimal grip delivery throughout a race run.
- Are these tyres suitable for beginners? — These are competition-level tyres best suited for drivers with some experience in RC racing. Beginners would benefit from their superior grip and durability, but may struggle initially with the soft compound characteristics that reward proper driving technique and warm-up procedures. Many beginners start with slightly harder compound options that are more forgiving, then progress to soft compounds like the B-Uphill as their skills develop.
