Overview
The Louise RC T-Apollo 1/8 Truggy tyre and wheel set represents the pinnacle of off-road RC performance, engineered specifically for competitive 1/8 scale truggy racing across the UK and beyond. These pre-mounted and factory-glued tyres arrive ready to bolt straight onto your RC truggy, eliminating the need for time-consuming tyre mounting and preparation. Whether you're piloting an Associated RC8T, ARRMA Talion, HPI Trophy Truggy, Team Corally Shogun, Mugen MBX-T, or S-Workz S35-T, the Louise RC T-Apollo delivers the grip and durability demanded by serious RC enthusiasts and weekend bashers alike.
Louise RC has spent years perfecting the art of tyre and wheel manufacturing for high-performance RC vehicles. The T-Apollo range is the result of extensive racing experience and engineering expertise, creating products that perform at the highest levels of competitive RC truggy racing. These aren't entry-level tyres—they're competition-grade components designed to withstand the extreme forces generated during cornering, acceleration, braking, and massive jumps that are part of the truggy racing experience.
The 0-offset configuration means these wheels will provide your RC car with the standard width, making them the perfect choice for drivers looking for a balanced setup without widening their chassis. If you prefer a wider stance, Louise RC also offers 1/2 offset alternatives that add approximately 25mm to your total width. Check the comprehensive Louise RC tyre-wheel compatibility chart to ensure these tyres are suitable for your specific model before purchasing.
Key Features
- Competition-Grade Soft Rubber Compound — The T-Apollo tyres are manufactured from a specialist racing rubber compound engineered specifically for maximum grip and performance. The soft compound formulation delivers exceptional traction on race tracks and off-road circuits, whilst also providing controlled wear characteristics essential for competitive events. These racing tyres require a brief warm-up period to reach their ideal operating temperature, after which grip levels increase noticeably—always run a few laps to bring the tyres up to temperature before pushing hard.
- Factory-Mounted and Permanently Glued — These tyres arrive completely mounted and glued to the wheels, ready to install on your RC truggy immediately. Louise RC employs a meticulous multi-step bonding process that ensures absolutely perfect adhesion between tyre and wheel. The rubber tyre surfaces are carefully ground and degreased, the wheel surfaces are prepared identically, and the tyres are bonded using a specially formulated cyanoacrylate adhesive applied with precision dosing machinery. Each bonded tyre is then pressed for a specific duration and passes rigorous spinning and pulling tests before leaving the factory, guaranteeing that the tyre will remain firmly attached even under extreme racing conditions.
- High-Quality Nylon Composite Wheels — The wheels are manufactured from premium nylon composite materials specifically developed by Dupont® for Louise RC. These specially engineered granulates, charged with reinforcing fibres, deliver the perfect combination of flexibility and strength needed to absorb the massive forces encountered during jumps and hard cornering without cracking or failing. The material selection ensures your investment in quality tyres and wheels will deliver consistent performance lap after lap.
- Precision Foam Inserts for Perfect Dampening — The tyres incorporate specially selected foam cut inserts, chosen for their specific density to guarantee perfect dampening and form stability. These inserts maintain tyre shape during aggressive driving and provide the ideal suspension response between the tyre and wheel, ensuring predictable handling and reduced tyre degradation during extended racing sessions.
- 17mm Hex Compatibility — These wheels feature standard 17mm hex adapters, making them compatible with the vast majority of 1/8 scale truggy platforms currently available. This includes dedicated truggy models from all major manufacturers, ensuring you can upgrade your existing vehicle without requiring adapters or modifications.
- 0-Offset Rim Design — The 0-offset configuration provides standard chassis width, making these tyres the perfect bolt-on replacement for stock wheels on most vehicles. The 97mm bead diameter and 3.8-inch rim specification ensure precise fitment and optimal performance across the entire range of compatible truggy models.
- Stunning Black Chrome Finish — The wheels feature an eye-catching black chrome spoke design that looks aggressive and professional on any RC truggy. The finish not only enhances visual appeal but also provides a durable coating that resists dirt and mud accumulation during off-road driving.
Technical Performance
The Louise RC T-Apollo represents serious engineering for 1/8 scale truggy racing. Each tyre measures 145mm in diameter with a 64mm width, providing optimal ground contact and traction characteristics for competitive driving. At 248 grams per wheel-and-tyre assembly, the weight is precisely calculated to deliver responsive handling whilst maintaining momentum through corners and over jumps. The soft rubber compound is specifically formulated for racing applications where maximum grip is paramount, though drivers should note that building tyre temperature through several warm-up laps will unlock the full potential of the compound. The foam inserts are cut to size and selected for specific density characteristics, ensuring they absorb the extreme impacts from jumps and aggressive cornering whilst maintaining consistent tyre shape and contact patch throughout your driving session. The cyanoacrylate bonding process employed by Louise RC is considered industry-leading for its reliability and strength, with each assembly individually tested before dispatch to ensure zero risk of tyre separation during competition. The wheels themselves are manufactured from reinforced nylon composite materials that flex under load without permanent deformation, allowing them to absorb shocks that would crack rigid plastic wheels whilst still maintaining precise geometry for consistent handling characteristics. This is professional-grade equipment designed for demanding RC drivers who won't compromise on quality or performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which RC truggies do these Louise RC T-Apollo tyres fit? — These tyres are designed for 1/8 scale truggies with 17mm wheel hex adapters and 0-offset wheel configuration. Compatible models include the Associated RC8T, ARRMA Talion, HPI Trophy Truggy, Team Corally Shogun, Mugen MBX-T, and S-Workz S35-T, among many others. Louise RC provides a comprehensive tyre-wheel compatibility chart on their website that you should consult to confirm fitment for your specific model before purchase.
- Are these tyres suitable for racing or just recreational bashing? — These are genuinely competition-grade racing tyres featuring a soft rubber compound specifically engineered for maximum grip and competitive performance. Whilst recreational RC drivers can certainly use them, they're designed with serious racers in mind. The soft compound will wear faster than harder compounds used on recreational or off-road tyres, but it will deliver noticeably superior traction and lap times during competitive events.
- Do I need to glue these tyres to the wheels myself? — No, that's the main convenience benefit of purchasing these pre-mounted tyres. Louise RC has already permanently glued the tyres to the wheels using their professional-grade cyanoacrylate bonding process and quality control testing. You simply install the wheel-and-tyre assemblies onto your RC truggy and you're ready to drive.
- Why do the tyres need warm-up laps before racing? — Louise RC racing tyres are formulated with a soft rubber compound that builds grip as temperature increases. The compound reaches its ideal operating temperature after several laps of driving, at which point grip levels increase noticeably. Always run a few warm-up laps before pushing hard during competitive racing to allow the tyres to reach optimal temperature and deliver maximum performance.
- What's the difference between 0-offset and 1/2 offset wheels? — The 0-offset wheels (these tyres) provide standard chassis width, making them the default choice for most RC truggies. The 1/2 offset alternative from Louise RC adds approximately 25mm to your total vehicle width, which some drivers prefer for improved cornering stability or aesthetic reasons. Check your vehicle's specifications and Louise RC's compatibility chart to determine which offset is correct for your model.
- How long will these racing tyres last? — The soft racing compound will wear faster than harder recreational compounds, especially during competitive racing where maximum grip is being exploited. Tyre lifespan depends entirely on driving intensity, track surface, and driver skill. Racing drivers typically rotate and replace tyres regularly to maintain peak performance, whilst recreational drivers may see longer tyre life. The quality of the construction and Louise RC's rigorous manufacturing process ensure these tyres will deliver consistent performance throughout their lifespan.
- Are the foam inserts replaceable if they deteriorate? — The inserts are glued inside the mounted tyres, making them integral to the assembly. If inserts deteriorate significantly, you would need to replace the entire tyre-wheel assembly. However, the selection of foam density and cut-to-size fitting means these inserts are designed to withstand extended use without degradation.
