The M0.6 module specification indicates this gear is compatible with a wide range of RC vehicles and motor setups, making it a versatile choice for hobbyists building or upgrading their electric RC car collections. If you're shopping for RC car parts UK that offer genuine quality without compromise, this Fastrax pinion gear stands out as a trusted choice from a manufacturer known for precision engineering and reliability in the RC community.
Key Features
- 7075 Aluminium Construction — This premium aluminium alloy offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, meaning the gear is incredibly durable for high-stress RC driving whilst remaining as light as possible, which directly improves your vehicle's acceleration and handling characteristics.
- 26-Tooth Configuration — The 26-tooth count provides a specific gear ratio suited to a wide range of RC vehicles and motor combinations, giving you fine-tuned control over your model's speed and torque delivery.
- M0.6 Module Standard — This metric module specification ensures precise compatibility with matching spur gears and differentials, guaranteeing smooth, quiet operation and minimising drivetrain losses during acceleration and cornering.
- Precision Engineering — Manufactured to tight tolerances, this pinion gear ensures consistent mesh engagement with your spur gear, which means smoother power delivery, reduced vibration and longer component lifespan across your entire RC drivetrain.
- Lightweight Design — The aluminium construction significantly reduces unsprung weight compared to steel alternatives, improving your RC car's responsiveness and allowing for quicker acceleration and deceleration during competitive racing.
- Reliable Performance — Fastrax is a recognised manufacturer of RC spare parts and upgrades, and this pinion gear reflects their commitment to quality that RC hobbyists can trust for both weekend bashing and serious competition use.
Technical Performance
The Fastrax M0.6 26T Aluminium 7075 Pinion Gear represents a crucial component in your RC car's drivetrain system. Constructed from aerospace-grade 7075 aluminium, this material is renowned for its superior strength characteristics whilst maintaining minimal weight, making it ideal for high-performance RC applications where every gram matters. The 26-tooth count combined with the M0.6 module specification ensures this gear will mesh perfectly with standard spur gears used in most contemporary electric RC cars, providing smooth power transmission with minimal backlash. The precision manufacturing means tooth profiles are cut to exacting standards, ensuring each tooth engages uniformly with the spur gear, which reduces stress concentrations and extends the service life of both components. For users running brushless RC motors of various KV ratings and power outputs, this pinion gear's robust construction means it can handle the instant torque delivery that brushless systems provide. Whether you're running a high-speed 4WD buggy, a crawler tackling technical terrain, or any ready to run RC car UK that you've upgraded with performance components, this gear delivers consistent, reliable power transfer with minimal noise and maximum efficiency. The material choice of 7075 aluminium means you benefit from better heat dissipation compared to plastic alternatives, which is particularly important during extended driving sessions or competitive racing where sustained performance is essential.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Fastrax M0.6 26T Pinion Gear suitable for my RC car? — This pinion gear features the M0.6 module standard, which is widely used across many RC vehicles including buggies, trucks, crawlers and off-road racers. Check your vehicle's specifications to confirm it uses M0.6 gearing; if your RC car currently has a pinion gear installed, this will be a direct replacement or upgrade option. The 26-tooth count is a popular configuration that works with standard spur gears found on most contemporary electric RC cars.
- What are the advantages of 7075 aluminium over other materials? — 7075 aluminium is an aerospace-grade alloy that combines exceptional strength with minimal weight, making it significantly stronger than plastic gears and considerably lighter than steel alternatives. This means better durability for high-performance RC driving whilst maintaining the weight savings that improve acceleration and handling. For competitive RC racing and aggressive bashing, 7075 aluminium delivers the best of both worlds.
- Will this pinion gear work with brushless motors? — Yes, absolutely. This pinion gear is fully compatible with brushless RC motors of any KV rating. The robust 7075 aluminium construction is specifically engineered to handle the instant, high-torque output that brushless systems deliver, making it an excellent choice for upgraded or competition-spec brushless RC cars.
- How do I know if my RC car needs a new pinion gear? — Signs that your pinion gear may need replacement include visible tooth damage or wear, grinding noises during acceleration, hesitation in power delivery, or difficulty meshing smoothly with the spur gear. If you're upgrading your RC car's performance, replacing the pinion gear with a premium component like this Fastrax unit is a worthwhile investment that improves overall drivetrain efficiency.
- Is installation difficult? — Pinion gear installation is generally straightforward for anyone with basic RC maintenance knowledge. You'll typically need to remove the motor/gearbox assembly and slide off the old gear before pressing the new one onto the motor shaft. However, if you're unfamiliar with RC car maintenance, RC Model Shop's team of experienced technicians can advise you on installation if needed.
