Overview
The Fastrax 'Enduro' Silicone Manifold Seal is an essential replacement part for nitro-powered RC cars and trucks. Whether you're running a high-performance competition rig or enjoying weekend bashing with your RC model, this component plays a crucial role in maintaining proper engine sealing and performance. Designed specifically for Enduro and related nitro engine platforms, this pack contains two silicone seals to keep your RC car UK-legal and running smoothly on the track or in the field.
Silicone manifold seals are critical engine components that prevent fuel and air leaks at the manifold interface. Over time, these seals can degrade due to heat exposure, fuel chemical exposure, and general wear and tear from thousands of combustion cycles. If you're experiencing poor engine performance, fuel leaks, or inconsistent running characteristics in your nitro RC model, replacing the manifold seals should be one of your first troubleshooting steps. The Fastrax 'Enduro' seals offer a reliable, original-specification replacement that restores your engine to peak performance.
As a trusted RC hobby retailer serving the UK, RC Model Shop stocks genuine Fastrax components because we know that quality spare parts are essential for keeping your RC cars running reliably. This product is ideal for competitive racers, serious hobbyists, and anyone who wants to maintain their nitro-powered RC investment in perfect condition.
Key Features
- Silicone Construction — These seals are manufactured from high-quality silicone material that withstands the extreme heat and chemical exposure inside a running nitro engine, ensuring long service life and reliable performance between replacement cycles.
- Pack of Two — Two seals are included in each pack, giving you a spare ready for immediate use if needed, which is particularly valuable during race seasons or intensive bashing sessions when you want to minimise downtime.
- Enduro Specification — Designed specifically for Fastrax Enduro engines and compatible platforms, these seals meet the original equipment specifications to ensure perfect fit and optimal engine sealing performance.
- Original Equipment Quality — By using genuine Fastrax replacement seals rather than generic alternatives, you're ensuring that your engine maintains its original performance characteristics and reliability standards.
- Essential Maintenance Part — Regular replacement of manifold seals is part of proper nitro engine maintenance, and keeping a supply of genuine seals on hand prevents unexpected breakdowns during important races or events.
Technical Performance
Manifold seals are precision-engineered components that might seem small but have an outsized impact on engine performance. The seal creates an airtight, fuel-tight interface between the engine's manifold and the cylinder head, critical areas where combustion pressures are at their peak. A worn or degraded seal allows air to be drawn into the engine, disrupting the precise fuel-to-air ratio that nitro engines require for optimal performance. This results in lean running conditions, which can cause the engine to run hot, lose power, and in extreme cases, suffer cylinder damage. Silicone is the material of choice for these seals because it maintains its elasticity and sealing properties even when exposed to temperatures exceeding 100°C and to the aggressive solvents present in nitro fuel. The Fastrax 'Enduro' seals maintain the exact thickness, diameter, and material properties of the original equipment seals, ensuring that when installed, they restore your engine's performance to like-new condition. For RC enthusiasts in the UK running Enduro-platform engines, whether in 1/10 buggy, truck, or truggy formats, these seals are an affordable way to extend engine life and maintain competitive performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How often should I replace my RC nitro engine manifold seals? — Manifold seals typically require replacement every 8-12 hours of running time, or whenever you notice signs of fuel or air leaks at the manifold joint, changes in idle characteristics, or difficulty maintaining consistent engine performance. Racing competitively means checking seals more frequently.
- What are the signs that my manifold seals need replacing? — Common symptoms include visible fuel leaking from the manifold area, the engine running lean or excessively hot, loss of power, difficulty achieving a stable idle, or erratic RPM behaviour. If you suspect seal failure, replacement is quick and inexpensive compared to potential engine damage.
- Are these seals compatible with my RC car or truck? — These seals are specifically designed for Fastrax Enduro engines. Ensure your nitro RC car or truck uses an Enduro-platform engine before purchasing. Consult your vehicle's manual or contact our team at RC Model Shop if you're uncertain about compatibility.
- Why choose genuine Fastrax seals over generic alternatives? — Genuine Fastrax seals are engineered to exact specifications matching your original equipment, ensuring perfect fit and reliable sealing. Generic or counterfeit seals may have inconsistent material properties, incorrect dimensions, or poor durability, potentially leading to leaks and engine damage.
- How difficult is it to replace manifold seals? — Replacing manifold seals is a straightforward job that most RC hobbyists can do with basic tools in 15-30 minutes. You'll need a hex wrench set and possibly a small screwdriver. Detailed instructions are available in most Enduro engine manuals, and our team at RC Model Shop is happy to provide guidance.
- Can I prevent premature seal degradation? — Yes. Use quality nitro fuel from reputable suppliers, avoid leaving your engine sitting for extended periods with fuel inside, run your engine at appropriate temperatures (not excessively hot), and allow the engine to cool properly before storage. Proper maintenance extends seal life and overall engine reliability.
