Overview
The Element RC Shock Springs in grey represent a precision-engineered suspension upgrade component designed specifically for the discerning RC enthusiast who demands the very best handling characteristics from their trail truck or rock crawler. These shock springs are manufactured by Element RC, a brand recognised for producing high-quality suspension components that transform the driving experience of compatible RC vehicles across the UK and beyond. Whether you're piloting your RC car UK through demanding terrain or seeking to fine-tune your vehicle's suspension geometry, these shock springs offer the performance and reliability that serious RC hobbyists demand.
Shock springs are one of the most critical tuning elements in any RC suspension system, directly influencing how your vehicle responds to terrain, maintains traction, and absorbs impacts. The Element RC Shock Springs with a spring rate of 1.49 lb/in provide a carefully calibrated suspension response that balances compliance with control. This particular specification makes these springs ideal for drivers who want a responsive yet forgiving setup that performs well across varied terrain types. As an essential suspension component, these shock springs represent a cost-effective way to optimise your ready to run RC vehicle's handling without requiring extensive mechanical modifications.
For those operating ready to run RC vehicles in the UK, upgrading your shock springs is one of the most direct paths to improved performance. The grey colour variant denotes the specific spring rate, making identification and setup simple. RC car UK buyers will appreciate that these springs are available as standalone components, allowing you to maintain spares or experiment with different suspension tuning options without committing to complete shock replacements.
Key Features
- Precise Spring Rate of 1.49 lb/in — This spring constant has been carefully engineered to provide the optimal balance between suspension compliance and control, allowing your RC vehicle to absorb terrain impacts whilst maintaining consistent traction and predictable handling characteristics that drivers can rely on lap after lap.
- Extended 63mm Length — The L63 mm dimension specifies the compressed length of these shock springs, ensuring perfect compatibility with Element RC suspension systems and delivering the correct ride height and suspension geometry that these vehicles are engineered to achieve.
- Grey Colour Designation — The grey finish serves as a visual identifier of the specific spring rate, eliminating confusion when managing multiple suspension setups or comparing different tuning options for your RC collection.
- Element RC Engineering — Manufactured by Element RC, a brand dedicated to producing authentic, high-quality suspension components that meet the exacting standards of RC enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on performance or durability.
- Direct Compatibility — These shock springs are engineered to fit seamlessly with a comprehensive range of Element RC trail trucks and crawler vehicles, ensuring straightforward installation and immediate performance benefits without modification.
- Standalone Component — Purchase these springs individually to maintain spares, experiment with suspension tuning, or replace worn springs without unnecessary expense, maximising the flexibility of your RC suspension setup.
Technical Performance
The Element RC Shock Springs represent the precise engineering approach that has made Element RC a trusted name amongst UK RC enthusiasts. The 1.49 lb/in spring rate has been scientifically selected to provide optimal suspension compliance whilst maintaining structural integrity under demanding use. With a length specification of 63 millimetres, these springs deliver the correct suspension geometry and ride height that Element RC trail trucks and rock crawlers are engineered to achieve. The quality of the materials and manufacturing processes ensures consistent performance characteristics, meaning your vehicle will respond predictably whether you're tackling boulder fields or navigating rocky trails. Spring rate selection is absolutely critical to RC vehicle performance; springs that are too soft will allow excessive chassis squat and unpredictable handling, whilst springs that are too stiff will transmit excessive impacts directly to the chassis and reduce traction. The 1.49 lb/in specification represents a middle ground that performs admirably across varied terrain conditions, making these springs an excellent choice for drivers who demand versatile, responsive handling without specialising their vehicle for a single driving style.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What Element RC vehicles are these shock springs compatible with? — These shock springs are directly compatible with a comprehensive range of Element RC trail trucks and crawlers, including the Element RC Enduro Ecto Trail Truck RTR in Green (EL40117), the Element RC Enduro Trail Truck in Zuul Tan RTR (EL40124), the Element RC Enduro Ecto Trail Truck RTR in Black (EL40122), the Element RC Enduro Ecto Trail Truck RTR in Grey with Portal Axles (EL40130), the Element RC Enduro Sendero HD Titanium RTR (EL40120), the Element RC Enduro Trailwalker RTR in Black (EL40119), and the Element RC Enduro Trail Truck Sendero HD RTR in Black (EL40123). Before ordering, verify your specific vehicle model to confirm compatibility.
- What is a spring rate and why does 1.49 lb/in matter? — Spring rate, measured in pounds per inch (lb/in), indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A lower spring rate means the spring compresses more easily, providing a softer, more compliant ride that absorbs impacts and maintains traction on rough terrain. The 1.49 lb/in specification represents a moderate spring rate suitable for general-purpose trail and rock crawling, balancing suspension comfort with control. If you find your vehicle too stiff or too soft, alternative spring rates from Element RC, such as the blue 2.09 lb/in option, allow you to dial in your perfect setup.
- How do shock springs affect RC vehicle performance? — Shock springs are absolutely fundamental to how your RC vehicle handles and performs. They control how quickly your suspension compresses and extends, which directly influences traction, stability, and responsiveness. Softer springs (lower lb/in ratings) suit rough terrain and drivers preferring a forgiving, compliant feel, whilst stiffer springs (higher lb/in ratings) provide more direct feedback and work better on smoother surfaces. The 1.49 lb/in springs offer a versatile middle ground that performs admirably across mixed terrain conditions, making them an excellent choice for drivers exploring different driving styles.
- Can I use these springs to replace worn shock springs? — Absolutely. These Element RC Shock Springs are designed as direct replacement components for compatible vehicles. If you've noticed your vehicle not maintaining proper ride height or the suspension feeling less responsive than it should, replacing worn springs will restore factory handling characteristics and performance. Many RC enthusiasts maintain spare sets of springs to always have fresh components available.
- What colour options are available and what do they mean? — Element RC uses colour coding to denote different spring rates, making identification simple. These grey springs represent the 1.49 lb/in specification. A blue variant with 2.09 lb/in is also available, offering a stiffer spring rate for drivers preferring more direct suspension response. Selecting the correct colour ensures you receive the precise spring rate intended for your setup.
- Are these shock springs difficult to install? — These shock springs are simple suspension components that require no special tools or technical knowledge to install. They slot directly into compatible Element RC shock absorbers as part of routine maintenance or tuning. Most RC enthusiasts can manage the installation in minutes without specialist assistance.
