Overview
The Team Associated AS9695 Buggy Rear Wheel Hex in white represents a premium upgrade option for 1/10 scale RC buggy enthusiasts across the UK. These 2.2-inch rear wheels are engineered with precision and built to exacting standards by Team Associated, one of the world's most respected RC manufacturers. Whether you're piloting an Associated RC10B4, B44 series buggy, or running compatible platforms from Losi, Kyosho or other leading brands, these hex wheels deliver the performance and durability expected from a genuine factory component. For RC car UK enthusiasts looking to upgrade their stock wheels or replace worn units, the AS9695 offers exceptional value and genuine quality that ready to run RC buggies and race kits alike can benefit from.
Designed specifically for buggies equipped with 12mm rear hexes, these wheels have become a trusted choice for both casual weekend bashers and serious competition drivers. The white finish provides excellent visibility during high-speed runs and offers a clean aesthetic that complements most body colours. As an option part from Team Associated, the AS9695 wheels unlock additional performance possibilities for popular buggy platforms, allowing drivers to fine-tune their setup and achieve optimal handling characteristics on various track surfaces and terrain types.
RC buggy racing demands precision components that can withstand intense cornering forces, repeated impacts and the stresses of competitive driving. The AS9695 rear wheels are engineered to meet these demands with clever design features that set them apart from basic alternatives. If you're serious about getting the best performance from your 1/10 scale RC buggy, genuine Team Associated components like these wheels are an investment in reliability, consistency and performance that will keep your buggy running at its best.
Key Features
- 2.2-inch Rear Wheel Size — The 2.2-inch diameter is the standard specification for 1/10 scale RC buggy rear wheels, providing the optimal balance between grip, acceleration and top speed for competitive and recreational buggy racing across UK tracks and outdoor courses.
- 12mm Hex Drive — These wheels feature a 12mm hexagonal drive, which is the optional rear hex specification found on many modern 1/10 buggies including the Team Associated B4 and B44 series, Losi 22 and 22 2.0, and Kyosho Ultima RB5 and RB6 buggies, making them a true universal option part.
- Concentric Ring Rib Design — An additional concentric ring rib runs around the wheel structure to increase overall stiffness and reduce deflection under hard cornering, ensuring the wheel maintains its shape and continues to spin true even during aggressive manoeuvres and high-G turns.
- Glue-Catch Step — A moulded glue-catch step is integrated around the rim perimeter, which prevents tyre adhesive from running onto the wheel face during tyre mounting, keeping the wheel clean, whilst also providing a larger bonding surface area for a stronger and more durable tyre bead connection.
- White Colour Finish — The white finish provides excellent contrast and visibility during driving sessions, making it easier to judge wheel spin and rotation speed, whilst also offering a clean, professional appearance that suits most RC buggy body colours and liveries.
- Genuine Team Associated Component — As an official Team Associated part number, these wheels are manufactured to factory specifications and quality standards, ensuring perfect compatibility and reliable performance with all recommended platforms.
Technical Performance
The AS9695 rear wheels are manufactured with meticulous attention to detail using modern engineering principles that optimise both performance and durability. The concentric ring rib feature represents an intelligent approach to material distribution, where strategically positioned ribs increase wheel stiffness without adding excessive weight. This engineering directly translates to reduced wheel deflection during cornering, which is critical for maintaining consistent handling and predictable performance throughout a race or driving session. The larger bonding surface created by the glue-catch step feature allows for a stronger mechanical connection between the wheel and tyre, reducing the risk of tyre movement or slippage under acceleration, braking and cornering loads. The 12mm hex interface ensures a positive mechanical lock with compatible buggy hubs, eliminating the possibility of axle slop or play. With an MSRP of £8.99 (approximately equivalent to the US pricing), these wheels represent excellent value for genuine factory Team Associated components. The wheel design has been proven in both recreational and competitive environments, making them a trusted choice for RC buggy enthusiasts throughout the UK and beyond. Built from durable materials engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of modern 1/10 scale buggy racing, the AS9695 wheels deliver consistent performance lap after lap.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these wheels compatible with my Associated RC buggy? — The AS9695 rear wheels are compatible with any Team Associated 1/10 scale buggy equipped with the optional 12mm rear hex specification. This includes the entire B4, B5, B6 and B7 series, as well as the B44 and B74 series buggies. Before purchasing, verify that your buggy has 12mm rear hexes fitted; if your buggy uses the standard drive system, these wheels will not fit.
- Can I use these wheels with non-Associated buggies? — Yes, the AS9695 wheels are a true universal option part compatible with any 1/10 scale RC buggy featuring a 12mm rear hex drive, including Losi 22 and 22 2.0 buggies, Kyosho Ultima RB5 and RB6 models, and virtually any other 1/10 buggy platform using this standard. The 12mm hex is a widely adopted specification across competitive 1/10 buggy racing.
- What is the difference between the concentric ring rib and standard wheels? — The concentric ring rib design found on these AS9695 wheels uses material more efficiently than traditional solid wheels, concentrating material in strategic locations to increase overall stiffness whilst keeping weight minimal. This reduces wheel deflection during hard cornering, ensuring the wheel maintains its shape and spins true. Standard wheels without this feature may flex or deform under extreme cornering loads, affecting handling consistency and tyre contact patch.
- Do I need to glue tyres onto these wheels? — Yes, RC buggy tyres require adhesive to bond to the wheel rim. The glue-catch step feature on the AS9695 wheels helps manage adhesive application by creating a defined step that prevents glue from running onto the visible wheel face, allowing for cleaner assembly and a stronger tyre bead connection. Use medium-viscosity tyre adhesive applied to the tyre bead and the wheel's glue-catch step area.
- Are these wheels suitable for high-speed racing? — Absolutely. These wheels have been engineered specifically to withstand the demands of competitive 1/10 scale buggy racing, where high speeds, aggressive cornering and intense stresses are commonplace. The reinforced design with concentric ring ribs ensures consistent performance even during extended racing sessions.
- Can I use these wheels on the front of my buggy? — These are specifically engineered as rear wheels. Team Associated also manufactures 2.2-inch front wheels with 12mm hex (part number 92095 or 92096), which are optimised for front suspension geometry and handling characteristics. Using rear wheels on the front may negatively affect handling.
- How long do these wheels last? — Wheel lifespan depends on driving intensity, surface conditions and maintenance. With proper care and occasional inspection for damage, these Team Associated wheels should provide many seasons of reliable service for both recreational and competitive drivers.
