Key Features
- Updated Design Based on Original AS92136 — These outdrives build upon Team Associated's proven AS92136 design, incorporating refinements and improvements gained from extensive real-world testing and competitive racing feedback. This heritage ensures you're getting a component that's been proven to work reliably in demanding conditions.
- Reduced Machining for Increased Durability — The manufacturing process has been optimised to reduce unnecessary machining whilst maintaining structural integrity. This approach actually improves durability by reducing stress points and weak zones that can develop from over-machining, meaning your outdrives will last longer under normal use and racing conditions.
- More Economical Construction — The streamlined production process makes these outdrives more affordable without compromising on quality or performance. This economy passes directly to you as the consumer, making it easier and more cost-effective to maintain your RC10B74 with replacement parts.
- 1mm Shorter Length — A seemingly small change that delivers real benefits—the 1mm reduction in length specifically addresses edge chipping, a common failure mode in the original design. This design refinement means your outdrives will resist damage from impacts and contact with track obstacles, extending their service life significantly.
- Front or Rear Differential Compatibility — These outdrives are engineered to work in either the front or rear differential position on your RC10B74, providing complete flexibility in how you maintain and upgrade your vehicle. This versatility means you only need one part number to service either end of your buggy.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated B74 Diff. Outdrives represent a refined approach to differential engineering for competitive 1/10 scale RC buggies. At 16mm, these outdrives are precision-engineered components that transmit power from the differential to the drive shafts whilst allowing controlled speed differentiation between the left and right wheels during cornering. The reduction in machining doesn't compromise performance—instead, it reflects a smarter engineering approach that maintains strength whilst improving reliability. The 1mm reduction in overall length is a critical detail for UK RC enthusiasts who understand that component fit and durability are paramount in competitive racing. Whether you're running these on a freshly built RC10B74 or replacing worn originals, you're investing in components that have been tested and proven on some of the most competitive tracks across Europe and beyond. Team Associated's commitment to manufacturing excellence ensures these outdrives meet precise tolerances and quality standards expected by serious RC racers.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the AS92262 and the original AS92136 outdrives? — The AS92262 represents an updated version of the original AS92136. The key improvements include reduced machining for better durability and economy, and a 1mm shorter length that specifically reduces edge chipping—a common wear point on the original design. If you've had issues with chipping or wear on the AS92136, the AS92262 directly addresses these concerns whilst maintaining compatibility with your RC10B74.
- Can I fit these outdrives to the front and rear of my RC10B74? — Yes, one of the main advantages of the AS92262 is that they're designed to work in either the front or rear differential position. This gives you flexibility in your maintenance and upgrade approach, and means you only need to stock one part number for maintaining both ends of your vehicle.
- Why would I need replacement outdrives for my RC buggy? — Differential outdrives are wear items in any RC vehicle, particularly if you race competitively or drive regularly on abrasive surfaces. Over time, they can develop edge chipping, wear marks from repeated differential action, or damage from impacts. Upgrading to the latest AS92262 version ensures you have the most durable and reliable components available for your RC10B74, which is especially important if you're preparing for competition or want to minimise downtime due to parts replacement.
- Are these suitable for beginners? — These are replacement parts designed for maintaining an existing RC10B74 rather than a standalone product for beginners. If you already own an RC10B74 and need replacement or upgraded outdrives, they're absolutely suitable and represent a sensible maintenance upgrade. They're not something a complete beginner would purchase unless they already have a B74 platform vehicle.
- What makes the 1mm shorter length beneficial? — Edge chipping was a known wear point on the original AS92136 outdrives. By reducing the overall length by just 1mm, Team Associated has eliminated the protruding edges that were prone to damage during normal racing and bashing. This small change significantly extends the working life of the component and reduces the frequency with which you'll need replacements, making it more economical over time.
