Technical Performance
The Team Associated B74 Steering Block represents decades of engineering refinement from one of the most respected names in RC buggy manufacturing. This component is machined to precise tolerances to ensure that the steering linkage geometry remains perfectly aligned, which is absolutely critical for maintaining consistent steering response across varying track conditions and driving styles. The block interfaces with multiple steering components within the B74 assembly, including the steering servo, push rods and wheel hub carriers, so any wear in this part directly impacts the entire steering system's performance. The materials used in this OEM part are selected for durability and resistance to the stresses generated during aggressive cornering, high-speed transitions and competitive racing. Team Associated's engineering means that this steering block maintains its dimensional accuracy even after months or years of heavy use, ensuring your RC buggy continues to respond predictably whether you're competing at organised RC events around the UK or enjoying weekend bashing sessions at your local RC track. The B74 platform itself is renowned for its handling characteristics, and maintaining components like this steering block is how competitive RC car enthusiasts keep their buggies performing at their best.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the Team Associated B74 Steering Block used for? — The steering block is a critical component in your B74's front-end steering assembly. It connects the steering servo to the wheel hubs and maintains the precise angles needed for responsive steering. When this part wears or becomes damaged, your steering response becomes loose and unpredictable, which is why keeping it in good condition matters for any RC car UK owner.
- Is this a genuine Team Associated part? — Yes, the AS92171 is an authentic OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) part produced by Team Associated. As an authorised retailer, RC Model Shop stocks only genuine factory components, not aftermarket substitutes. This guarantees correct fit and performance with your B74 buggy.
- How do I know if my B74 steering block needs replacing? — Signs that your steering block may need replacement include loose or unresponsive steering, visible cracks or damage to the plastic component, or noticeably different steering feel compared to when your RC car was new. If you're unsure, our experienced team at RC Model Shop can advise you based on your specific situation.
- Is this suitable for both recreational and competitive RC racing? — Absolutely. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying your RC buggy casually or a competitive racer entering events at UK RC tracks, this genuine steering block is essential. Competitive racers especially rely on OEM parts to ensure their buggies handle predictably during important competitions.
- What other B74 models will this part fit? — This steering block is designed for the Team Associated B74 platform. According to RC Model Shop's compatibility information, related models such as the B74.1, B74.2, B74.2D, and some B84 variants may also use compatible steering components, though we always recommend confirming with our team before ordering spares for specific models.
- How often should I replace my steering block? — This depends on how frequently you use your RC car and how aggressively you drive. Regular inspection is part of good RC maintenance; replace the steering block if you notice damage or worn performance. For competitive racers using their buggies multiple times per week, inspecting steering components monthly is sensible practice.
