Overview
The Associated HD TiN Ballstuds 6mm (AS91751) are genuine replacement ballstuds designed for enthusiasts and competitors who demand quality spare parts for their RC cars. Whether you're maintaining your current setup or preparing spare components for competition days, these ballstuds deliver the reliability and durability that Associated is renowned for throughout the RC hobby community. These are essential consumables for anyone serious about keeping their RC buggy, truck or short course vehicle in peak condition, and they represent the perfect addition to any RC spares box for UK hobbyists.
Ballstuds are critical suspension and steering components that endure constant stress during racing and bashing. The 6mm size makes these ballstuds compatible with a wide range of Associated RC models, from the legendary B-series buggies to their modern short course trucks and rock crawlers. By choosing genuine Associated parts, you ensure perfect fitment and consistent performance across multiple vehicles in your collection. Whether you're replacing worn components or building up spare suspension geometry options, these HD TiN ballstuds are the smart choice for maintaining your RC car UK setup.
These ballstuds feature the HD (Heavy Duty) designation combined with TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating, making them significantly more durable than standard ballstuds. The TiN finish provides enhanced wear resistance and extends the service life of these critical components, reducing the frequency of replacements and saving money over time. This is why serious RC car racers across the UK specify Associated HD TiN ballstuds when setting up competition vehicles or maintaining their everyday bashers.
Key Features
- 6mm Ballstud Size — These ballstuds are manufactured to the 6mm specification, ensuring they fit the threaded holes and suspension components found on a comprehensive range of Associated RC models, from buggies to short course trucks, without requiring modifications or adaptations.
- TiN (Titanium Nitride) Finish — The Titanium Nitride coating dramatically improves hardness and wear resistance compared to standard steel ballstuds, meaning they maintain their geometry longer under the stresses of racing and bashing, reducing the need for frequent replacement.
- HD (Heavy Duty) Designation — The HD marking indicates these ballstuds are engineered to a higher standard than basic components, featuring improved material quality and construction that withstands intense use during competition and recreational driving.
- Genuine Associated Part — These are authentic factory parts manufactured to exact Associated specifications, guaranteeing compatibility with your RC vehicle and providing the same quality control standards as new vehicles, something that counterfeit or generic ballstuds cannot match.
- Routine Maintenance Solution — Perfect for keeping your RC spares box stocked with replacements for wear items, allowing you to perform setup changes and maintenance without waiting for parts to arrive, keeping your vehicles ready to run whenever you are.
- Setup Flexibility — By having genuine spare ballstuds on hand, you can experiment with different suspension geometries and configurations, storing multiple pre-assembled suspension arms with different ballstud angles for instant setup changes at the track or field.
- Broad Model Compatibility — These ballstuds are listed as compatible with numerous Associated platforms including the B6.1, B6.2, B6.3, B6.4, B64, B6D, B64D, B6.1D, B6.1DL, B6.2D, B6.4D, B7, B7D, B74, B74.1, B74.2, B74.2D, T6.1, T6.2, T6.4, RC10SC6.1, RC10SC6.2, SC6.4, RC10 4WD, RC10DR, DR10, DR10M, RB10, RB10 Retro, SR10, Reflex 14B, Pro2 LT10SW, and Pro2 DK10 Dakar models, covering both off-road racing and short course platforms.
Technical Performance
The Associated HD TiN Ballstuds 6mm represent a precision-engineered replacement component manufactured to exacting tolerances that ensure perfect fitment within the suspension pivot points and steering linkages of your RC vehicle. The 6mm specification is a standard dimension across much of Associated's product range, from their iconic B-series buggies through to contemporary short course and rock crawling platforms. The TiN coating is achieved through physical vapour deposition (PVD), a process that bonds an extremely hard Titanium Nitride layer to the steel substrate, increasing surface hardness to approximately 2500-3000 HV (Vickers hardness). This translates to significantly reduced wear rates during operation, meaning the ballstuds maintain their precise dimensions longer, which is crucial for maintaining consistent suspension geometry and steering response throughout a racing season. The HD designation confirms these are not basic grade components but rather manufactured from premium materials with tighter tolerances than standard ballstuds. For competitive racers in the UK running tight qualifying sessions or endurance events, maintaining consistent suspension geometry is absolutely critical to performance, and these genuine Associated parts deliver the durability required. The ballstuds work in conjunction with the suspension arms, turnbuckles, and servo linkages to transmit steering and suspension forces, so using quality components like these HD TiN ballstuds ensures no weak links in your drivetrain. Whether you're using these on a B6.4 buggy, T6.4 truggy, or one of the short course platforms, they provide the foundation for reliable performance.

- What models are Associated HD TiN Ballstuds 6mm compatible with? — These ballstuds are compatible with a comprehensive range of Associated RC models including the B6.1, B6.2, B6.3, B6.4, B64, B6D, B64D, B6.1D, B6.1DL, B6.2D, B6.4D, B7, B7D, B74, B74.1, B74.2, B74.2D series buggies, the T6.1, T6.2, T6.4 truggy range, the RC10 4WD and RC10DR buggies, the RC10SC6.1, RC10SC6.2, and SC6.4 short course trucks, plus the DR10, DR10M, RB10, RB10 Retro, SR10, Reflex 14B, Pro2 LT10SW, and Pro2 DK10 Dakar models. Always refer to your specific kit manual or manual to confirm fitment before purchase.
- Why should I choose TiN coated ballstuds over standard ballstuds? — TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating provides significantly enhanced wear resistance compared to bare steel, maintaining precise dimensions longer during use. This means your suspension geometry stays consistent throughout a racing season, your steering response remains predictable, and you'll replace ballstuds less frequently, saving money over time. For serious competitors, this consistency is essential for performance.
- Are these genuine Associated parts? — Yes, these are genuine factory parts manufactured by Associated and identified by the authentic part number AS91751. Purchasing genuine parts guarantees compatibility, quality control, and reliability that aftermarket or counterfeit components cannot match.
- How often should I replace my ballstuds? — The frequency depends on your usage intensity. Competitive racers running multiple qualifying sessions and races may need replacements every few weeks, whilst recreational bashers might extend intervals to several months. Always inspect ballstuds for visible wear, pitting, or bent shanks before each session, and replace if you notice any damage or excessive wear that could affect handling.
- What is the difference between HD and standard ballstuds? — HD (Heavy Duty) ballstuds feature improved material quality and construction standards compared to basic components, designed to withstand more intense use. Combined with TiN coating, these represent Associated's premium ballstud offering, ensuring maximum durability and longevity for serious racers and bashers.
- Can I use these as a routine maintenance item? — Absolutely. These ballstuds are perfect for keeping spare components on hand for setup changes, maintenance, and replacements. Many RC enthusiasts maintain a well-stocked spares box with genuine Associated parts, allowing them to keep vehicles ready to run without waiting for delivery times.
