Overview

The Team Associated AS6217 Inline Steering Block is an essential replacement component for owners and restorers of the classic RC10 model. This genuine Associated spare part is specifically designed to maintain precise inline steering geometry on compatible RC10 Classic builds, making it the perfect choice for anyone looking to keep their vintage RC car UK collection in top working condition. Whether you're performing routine maintenance on a cherished project or refreshing worn components during a full restoration, the AS6217 delivers the period-correct authenticity and performance that serious RC enthusiasts demand.

Steering blocks are critical components in any RC car's front end assembly, as they directly influence how your vehicle responds to steering inputs and maintains directional control. Over time, even the finest RC components can wear through regular use and vibration, which is why having access to genuine replacement parts like the AS6217 is invaluable for maintaining your RC10's handling characteristics. This graphite steering block represents Team Associated's commitment to quality and longevity, ensuring that your classic RC car continues to perform as the designers originally intended.

For RC hobbyists in the UK who value authenticity and precision engineering, the AS6217 is the logical choice when your RC10 Classic requires steering block replacement. It's not just a generic aftermarket part—it's the factory-approved component that ensures your restoration stays true to the original specification. At RC Model Shop, we stock this genuine Team Associated spare as part of our comprehensive range of RC car UK spares and upgrades, ensuring you can get exactly what you need to keep your beloved RC10 running smoothly.

Key Features

  • Genuine Team Associated Component — This is the factory-approved steering block specifically identified by Team Associated for the RC10 Classic, guaranteeing perfect fitment and authentic restoration credentials that aftermarket alternatives simply cannot match.
  • Inline Steering Geometry — The AS6217 maintains the precise inline steering alignment that the RC10 Classic was engineered for, ensuring your RC car responds predictably to steering inputs and maintains stability through corners and high-speed runs.
  • Graphite Construction — Manufactured from durable graphite material, this steering block combines lightweight properties with excellent strength and durability, allowing it to withstand the stresses of regular RC driving whilst resisting impact damage better than some alternative materials.
  • Direct Replacement Part — Designed as a direct swap for worn or damaged steering blocks on RC10 Classic models, the AS6217 eliminates guesswork and ensures compatibility without modification or additional adjustments to your RC setup.
  • Ideal for Restoration Projects — Whether you're restoring a vintage RC10 to showroom condition or simply refreshing an ageing project car, this genuine part helps maintain the period-correct authenticity that serious collectors and enthusiasts value in classic RC vehicles.
  • Routine Maintenance Essential — Even well-maintained RC cars eventually require steering block replacement due to normal wear from suspension movement and steering articulation, making the AS6217 a practical spare to have on hand for any serious RC10 owner.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated AS6217 Inline Steering Block represents decades of RC engineering refinement, utilising graphite construction to deliver the optimal balance of weight savings and durability. Graphite is a proven material choice in RC car design, offering superior stiffness compared to certain plastic alternatives whilst maintaining the lightweight characteristics essential for responsive steering feel. The inline steering geometry maintained by this component ensures that your RC10 Classic preserves the exact steering characteristics engineered during the model's original development, a critical factor in maintaining both handling predictability and the ability to dial in precise steering response through adjustment of your RC radio transmitter. The AS6217's design eliminates binding and ensures smooth, linear steering input translation from your transmitter to the wheels, allowing for the precise car control that RC enthusiasts expect when running their RC car in the UK, whether on track, off-road, or in dedicated RC racing environments. This component has been validated for the RC10 Classic platform, confirming its suitability as a standard part replacement that maintains factory performance specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the Team Associated AS6217 Inline Steering Block suitable for all RC10 models? — The AS6217 is specifically identified by Team Associated as compatible with the RC10 Classic. If you own a different variant of the RC10, we recommend checking your model documentation or contacting our team to confirm compatibility before purchasing. The inline steering block design may vary across different RC10 generations, making this confirmation important for ensuring correct fitment.
  • How do I know if my RC10 Classic needs new steering blocks? — Signs that your steering blocks require replacement include notchy or unresponsive steering, visible cracks or wear on the existing blocks, grinding sensations when turning the wheels, or if you're restoring a vehicle that has been in storage. Regular inspection during maintenance sessions is recommended, as steering blocks are consumable parts that naturally wear over time with normal use.
  • What is the difference between genuine Team Associated steering blocks and aftermarket alternatives? — The AS6217 is the factory-approved component engineered specifically for the RC10 Classic, guaranteeing exact fitment, proven durability characteristics, and preservation of the original steering geometry. Aftermarket alternatives may vary in tolerances, material quality, or steering geometry specifications, potentially affecting your RC car's handling characteristics and longevity.
  • Can I install the AS6217 myself? — The AS6217 is a replacement steering block component that requires removal of your front end assembly and is best replaced by users with RC car maintenance experience. If you're unsure about the installation process, our knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance, and we recommend consulting your RC10 Classic build manual for detailed step-by-step instructions.
  • Is this part suitable for beginners? — The AS6217 is a replacement spare part rather than a complete RC car or ready-to-run system, so it's best suited to RC enthusiasts who already own an RC10 Classic and have basic RC car maintenance knowledge. If you're new to RC hobbies, we'd recommend starting with a ready-to-run RC car UK starter package from our range, then exploring spares and upgrades like the AS6217 as you develop your skills and knowledge.
  • How often should I replace the steering blocks on my RC10 Classic? — Steering block lifespan depends entirely on how frequently and intensively you use your RC car. Regular bashers and racers may need replacements more frequently than casual users. Keeping spare steering blocks like the AS6217 on hand ensures you can quickly get back to running your RC car without downtime waiting for parts to arrive.
