Key Features

  • 75 Tooth Count — The 75T specification provides a precise gear ratio option that balances acceleration and top speed, allowing drivers to fine-tune their RC drivetrain setup to match their specific performance requirements and track conditions.
  • 48 Pitch Profile — This pitch specification ensures compatibility with 48 pitch systems and guarantees smooth, precise meshing with compatible pinion gears, reducing backlash and improving drivetrain efficiency during acceleration and deceleration.
  • Kimbrough Pattern Design — Built to the recognised Kimbrough standard, this spur gear ensures compatibility with a wide range of 48 pitch RC setups, and the standardised tooth profile delivers reliable engagement with your existing drivetrain components.
  • Team Associated Quality — Manufactured by Team Associated, a brand with an outstanding reputation for precision engineering and RC excellence, this component meets the high standards expected by competitive and recreational RC drivers throughout the UK.
  • Direct Replacement Part — The AS3923 serves as a direct alternative to HPI-113705, making it simple to upgrade or replace a worn or damaged spur gear without requiring modifications to your existing RC car setup.
  • Smooth Mesh Performance — Precision manufacturing ensures consistent tooth geometry across the entire gear, delivering smooth engagement with your pinion gear and minimising noise, vibration and wear during acceleration cycles.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated TC3 75 Tooth Spur Gear AS3923 is engineered to deliver reliable, consistent performance in RC drivetrain applications where precision gearing is essential. With its 75 tooth count and 48 pitch profile, this spur gear represents a mid-range gearing option that prioritises balanced performance across acceleration and top speed characteristics. The Kimbrough pattern tooth design ensures consistent meshing geometry, which is critical for minimising backlash and maximising power transfer efficiency from your motor and ESC to the wheels of your RC vehicle. Team Associated's manufacturing expertise ensures that tooth profiles are cut to exacting tolerances, meaning every tooth engages smoothly with your compatible pinion gear, reducing noise and wear whilst improving overall drivetrain responsiveness. The gear material and construction have been selected to withstand the demands of both casual bashing and more competitive RC driving, making this component suitable for a wide range of driving styles. For drivers in the UK running 48 pitch drivetrain systems on their RC cars, selecting the correct spur gear tooth count is essential to achieving your desired performance balance, and the 75T specification offers a proven ratio for many Team Associated TC3 builds and similar compatible vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a spur gear and why does tooth count matter in RC cars? — The spur gear is the main gear on your RC car's drivetrain that engages with the pinion gear on your motor shaft. The tooth count directly affects your vehicle's gear ratio; more teeth (like the 75T in this gear) typically favour acceleration and lower top speed, whilst fewer teeth favour higher top speed with less acceleration. By choosing the right tooth count, you can fine-tune your RC car's performance to match your driving style, track layout and power system.
  • Is the AS3923 compatible with my Team Associated RC car? — The Team Associated TC3 75 Tooth Spur Gear AS3923 is specifically designed for Team Associated TC3 models. It is presented as a direct alternative to HPI-113705, so if your RC vehicle used that part, the AS3923 should be compatible. Always verify compatibility with your specific model before purchasing, as different RC cars use different pitch and tooth count specifications.
  • What does 48 pitch mean and why is it important? — Pitch refers to the tooth spacing on a gear and is expressed as the number of teeth per inch of diameter. A 48 pitch spur gear has teeth spaced specifically for 48 pitch systems, ensuring precise meshing with 48 pitch pinion gears. Using the correct pitch is essential for smooth drivetrain operation; mixing pitches can result in poor mesh, excess backlash, noise and premature wear.
  • How often should I replace my spur gear? — Spur gear lifespan depends on driving intensity, maintenance and gear mesh quality. Regular inspection during maintenance will reveal signs of wear such as chipped or flattened teeth. If you notice noise, vibration or loss of drivetrain responsiveness, it may be time to replace your spur gear. The AS3923 is an excellent replacement option for maintaining your RC car's performance.
  • Can I use this gear to change my RC car's performance characteristics? — Yes, choosing different spur gear tooth counts is one of the most effective ways to tune your RC car's performance without upgrading your motor or ESC. The 75 tooth specification of the AS3923 provides a particular gear ratio; experimenting with different tooth counts (within your compatible system) allows you to optimise acceleration, top speed and overall handling to suit your preferences and track conditions.
  • Is this a genuine Team Associated product? — Yes, the Team Associated TC3 75 Tooth Spur Gear AS3923 is a genuine Team Associated component, manufactured to their exacting standards. Purchasing from an authorised RC retailer ensures you receive an authentic, quality product with warranty support and expert backing.
