Overview
The ROC HOBBY 1:6 1941 MB SCALER SPUR GEAR 42T 0.6 (ROC-C1068) is an essential replacement drivetrain component for enthusiasts of the popular ROC HOBBY 1:6 1941 MB Scaler scale crawler. This precision-engineered spur gear is a critical part of your RC car's transmission system, designed to deliver reliable performance during intense off-road scaling and rock crawling adventures. Whether you're a dedicated RC hobbyist in the UK looking to maintain your scaler in peak condition, or you're building a complete drivetrain setup, this genuine ROC HOBBY spare part ensures authentic compatibility and superior durability compared to aftermarket alternatives.
The 1:6 scale MB Scaler has established itself as one of the most capable and beloved rock crawlers in the RC community, and keeping it running at its best requires quality replacement parts. The spur gear is one of the most frequently replaced components in any RC transmission, as it endures constant stress during acceleration, deceleration and gear engagement. By choosing genuine ROC HOBBY parts, you're investing in longevity and consistent performance that will keep your crawler competitive whether you're tackling technical trails, competing in organised events, or simply enjoying weekend bashing sessions with fellow RC enthusiasts across the UK.
This spur gear is compatible with the broader ROC HOBBY ecosystem, making it an excellent choice for anyone running the 1:6 1941 MB Scaler, 1:6 JIMNY, 1:10 Mashigan, 1:10 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40, or 1:10 Atlas 4x4. Having spare drivetrain components on hand is essential for serious RC car UK owners, as gears can wear or break during demanding driving conditions. The 42-tooth count and 0.6 module specification are engineered to work seamlessly with your scaler's powertrain, ensuring smooth engagement and reliable power delivery every time you take your rig out.
Key Features
- 42-tooth spur gear design — The 42T tooth count is specifically calibrated for the 1:6 scale ROC HOBBY platform, providing the optimal balance between acceleration and top-end speed whilst maintaining consistent torque delivery during demanding climbing and scaling manoeuvres.
- 0.6 module specification — This gear module ensures precise tooth engagement with compatible pinion gears in your transmission, critical for reducing slippage, minimising wear and maximising efficiency during those intense rock crawling sessions.
- Cross-platform compatibility — Beyond the flagship 1941 MB Scaler, this spur gear works with multiple ROC HOBBY and FMS models including the 1:6 JIMNY, 1:10 Mashigan, 1:10 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 and 1:10 Atlas 4x4, making it a versatile component for collectors with multiple rigs.
- Genuine manufacturer part — Supplied as an authentic ROC HOBBY component, you're getting OEM quality and assured compatibility, avoiding the uncertainty and potential fitment issues that sometimes accompany third-party alternatives.
- Essential drivetrain spare — As a core transmission component, having replacement spur gears readily available ensures minimal downtime and keeps your scaler ready for action whenever the mood strikes.
- Durable construction — ROC HOBBY components are engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of scale crawling and rock hopping, with robust tooth design that resists stripping and premature wear even during aggressive driving.
Technical Performance
The spur gear represents a critical engineering component within your RC scaler's transmission assembly. With 42 teeth and a 0.6 module specification, this gear works in concert with your model's pinion gear to convert motor output into usable wheel torque and rotational speed. The 0.6 module is a standard specification across the ROC HOBBY 1:6 and compatible 1:10 platforms, ensuring that replacement gears will integrate perfectly with your existing drivetrain without requiring modification or shimming adjustments. The tooth profile is precisely machined to maintain consistent engagement throughout the driving experience, minimising backlash and vibration whilst distributing stress evenly across all tooth contact points. This engineering approach extends component lifespan and contributes to the responsive handling characteristics for which ROC HOBBY scalers are recognised among UK RC enthusiasts. The 42-tooth configuration provides a suitable gear ratio when paired with standard pinion gears, balancing the low-end torque required for technical climbing with sufficient top-end capability for navigating varied terrain types. Regular inspection and timely replacement of worn spur gears is essential maintenance for any serious RC crawler owner, as damaged gear teeth can quickly damage mating components and degrade overall drivetrain performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this spur gear compatible with my ROC HOBBY 1941 MB Scaler? — Yes, this is a genuine OEM part specifically designed for the ROC HOBBY 1:6 1941 MB Scaler. It is also compatible with the 1:6 JIMNY, 1:10 Mashigan, 1:10 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 and 1:10 Atlas 4x4 models, provided they use the same 0.6 module transmission assembly.
- How do I know when my spur gear needs replacing? — Signs of a worn or damaged spur gear include grinding noises during acceleration, visible tooth damage when you inspect the gear, reduced responsiveness when driving, or difficulty engaging the transmission smoothly. If you notice any of these symptoms, it's time to fit a replacement.
- What is the 42T specification and why does it matter? — The 42T refers to the number of teeth on the gear. This tooth count determines the gear ratio when combined with your pinion gear, directly affecting your scaler's acceleration and top speed characteristics. The 42T configuration is optimised for the 1:6 scale crawling platform, delivering the low-end torque needed for technical terrain whilst maintaining useful top-end speed.
- What is 0.6 module and does it matter for compatibility? — Module is a measurement of gear tooth size and spacing. The 0.6 module specification ensures that the spur gear will mesh correctly with compatible pinion gears in your transmission. Using gears with mismatched modules can result in poor engagement, excessive wear and potential damage, so always verify module compatibility when purchasing replacement drivetrain parts.
- Should I keep spare spur gears on hand? — Absolutely. Spur gears are consumable parts that experience constant wear during driving. Having one or two spare gears in your pit box means you can quickly swap damaged or worn components and get back to action without lengthy downtime, which is especially valuable during competitive events or weekend club days.
- Is this an OEM part or aftermarket? — This is a genuine ROC HOBBY OEM part, manufactured to the original specification and quality standards. This ensures perfect compatibility and performance consistency compared to aftermarket alternatives that may not meet the same engineering tolerances.
