This axle is ideal for bashers, racers, and hobby enthusiasts who understand the importance of quality drivetrain components in achieving consistent handling and longevity in their RC cars.
MIP components are trusted by RC competitors and weekend enthusiasts alike across the UK and beyond. The X-Duty range represents years of engineering expertise, and this CVD axle exemplifies that commitment to quality. Use it as a maintenance replacement when your existing axle shows wear, or install it as a performance upgrade in assemblies that call for this specific offset and bearing configuration. For best results, verify the required dimensions and specification of your existing assembly before installation to ensure compatibility.
Key Features
- 11mm Offset Design — The 11mm offset is a critical dimension that affects your RC car's handling geometry and suspension tuning. This specific offset is engineered to work with CVD assemblies designed around these exact specifications, ensuring proper alignment and eliminating binding or play in your drivetrain.
- CVD (Constant Velocity Drivetrain) Technology — CVD axles deliver smooth, consistent power delivery across a wider range of angles compared to traditional solid axles, which is particularly valuable when running through challenging terrain or during aggressive cornering in competitive RC racing UK environments.
- Supplied with 10x5mm Bearing — Each axle comes complete with a quality 10x5mm bearing (size #18), eliminating the need to source this component separately and ensuring you have everything required for installation in compatible CVD assemblies.
- Genuine MIP Quality — As a product from MIP's X-Duty range, this axle undergoes rigorous quality control and engineering standards. MIP components are engineered to handle the demands of both high-speed bashing and competitive RC racing, providing reliability that won't let you down when it matters.
- High-Load Performance — The X-Duty range is specifically designed for robust, high-load universal drive applications, making this axle suitable for powerful RC cars running aggressive driving styles or challenging terrain without compromising drivetrain integrity.
- Maintenance Replacement Specialist — This component is purpose-built as a replacement spare, making it straightforward to maintain your RC car's drivetrain without requiring a complete CVD assembly overhaul. Keep spares on hand for track days or weekend bashing sessions.
Technical Performance
The MIP X-Duty CVD Axle (MIP18151) represents precision engineering in drivetrain component design. The 11mm offset specification is a critical dimension in RC car geometry, directly affecting suspension alignment, handling characteristics, and overall drivetrain efficiency. When paired with the included 10x5mm bearing, this axle delivers smooth, consistent power delivery with minimal friction loss. The CVD design inherent in this component provides superior angular flexibility compared to solid axles, which becomes increasingly important in high-performance RC cars operating across varying terrain and driving conditions. The bearing specification (#18 size, 10mm inner diameter by 5mm width) is engineered to handle the rotational speeds and side loads typical of modern brushless RC cars whilst maintaining smooth operation and minimising wear. MIP's manufacturing standards ensure tight tolerances and consistent quality across every unit, which is why serious RC enthusiasts and competition racers specify MIP components for their builds. Whether you're replacing a worn axle or upgrading your drivetrain geometry, this component integrates seamlessly into CVD assemblies designed around 11mm offset specifications, providing reliable performance in both casual bashers and competition-grade RC cars.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What vehicles is the MIP X-Duty CVD Axle compatible with? — This axle is designed as a replacement component for CVD assemblies that specifically require an 11mm offset axle with a 10x5mm bearing. Compatibility varies depending on your vehicle's original configuration. Before ordering, verify that your RC car's drivetrain assembly specifies these exact dimensions. If you're unsure, contact our expert team at RC Model Shop on 01543 577278 or WhatsApp us for guidance.
- Is this a complete replacement solution or just a spare part? — This is a component-level spare part designed for use within existing CVD assemblies. It is not a complete CVD unit but rather the axle shaft itself, supplied with the required bearing. It's perfect for maintaining your RC car when wear occurs, or for upgrading the geometry of compatible assemblies. You'll need the rest of your CVD assembly to be already installed in your vehicle.
- What does the 11mm offset mean? — The offset refers to the distance between the bearing centres and affects how the axle positions the wheels relative to the chassis. This 11mm specification is critical for maintaining proper suspension geometry and handling balance in RC cars designed around this dimension. Using the wrong offset can result in poor handling, excessive tire wear, or drivetrain binding.
- Why choose MIP components for my RC car UK setup? — MIP is recognised throughout the RC hobby as a manufacturer of premium drivetrain components engineered for both high-speed bashing and competitive racing. MIP components are trusted by serious enthusiasts because they deliver consistent performance, maintain tight tolerances, and are built to handle the demands of modern brushless RC cars. Investing in genuine MIP parts means investing in reliability and longevity for your RC vehicle.
- How often should I replace my CVD axle? — CVD axles typically last for significant running time, but replacement frequency depends on your driving style, terrain, and maintenance habits. Aggressive bashing or competition use may require more frequent replacement than casual hobby driving. Inspect your axle regularly for bending or wear, and replace it if you notice binding, vibration, or play in the drivetrain.
- Can I use this axle as a performance upgrade? — Yes, if your RC car's assembly is designed to accept an 11mm offset axle, installing this genuine MIP component can enhance drivetrain smoothness and reliability compared to lower-quality alternatives. However, compatibility with your specific vehicle is essential, so verify specifications before purchase.
