Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the MIP X-Duty Male Bone used for? — The male bone is a critical component within MIP's X-Duty driveline system. It serves as a connector element that transmits power from the motor through the drivetrain to the wheels, and is designed to mate with corresponding female components in the assembly. When wear occurs or damage happens, replacing the male bone keeps your driveline functioning at optimal efficiency.
  • Is the 102mm size universal, or is it specific to certain RC cars? — The 102mm length is the exact specification for MIP X-Duty builds. It is designed specifically for vehicles and assemblies that use MIP's X-Duty driveline system. Always verify that your RC car uses X-Duty components before purchasing to ensure compatibility.
  • When should I replace the male bone in my X-Duty driveline? — You should consider replacement when you notice excessive play in the driveline, if the male bone shows visible wear or damage, or as part of routine maintenance after extended use. Keeping a spare on hand allows you to address issues immediately without waiting for delivery.
  • Will this male bone work with other driveline systems? — No, this component is engineered specifically for the MIP X-Duty system. Using it with incompatible systems may result in poor fit, excessive play, or component failure. Always use MIP-specified parts for your X-Duty assembly.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Whilst this is a spare component rather than a complete assembly, beginners can certainly use it for maintenance once they're familiar with driveline work. It's primarily of interest to those who already run X-Duty equipped RC cars and need reliable replacement parts. If you're new to RC and unsure about your vehicle's drivetrain system, our team at RC Model Shop in Walsall is happy to help identify what you have.
  • How do I know if I need a male bone or female bone replacement? — The X-Duty system uses both male and female components that work together. A male bone features a protruding end designed to insert into a female socket. If you're unsure which component needs replacement, inspect your driveline or contact our expert team for guidance.
