Key Features
- Precision Ball Bearing Design — The 5 x 10 x 4mm dimensions are engineered to exact tolerances, ensuring smooth rotation with minimal radial play and friction loss, which directly translates to better acceleration, higher top speed, and more responsive handling characteristics in your RC car.
- Pack of Four Bearings — This set includes four individual ball bearings, providing sufficient components for multiple repair jobs, bearing rotations across different RC vehicles, or complete bearing replacements on a single model with redundant spares for future use.
- Genuine HOBAO Manufacturing — These are authentic HOBAO-branded bearings, manufactured to the same exacting standards as the original equipment fitted to HOBAO RC cars, guaranteeing compatibility and performance that matches factory specifications exactly.
- Wide Application Compatibility — The 5 x 10 x 4mm size is a standard metric bearing specification used across numerous HOBAO models and many compatible RC platforms, making this a versatile spare part for multi-vehicle RC enthusiasts.
- Affordable Maintenance Solution — Regular bearing replacement is one of the most cost-effective ways to maintain RC car performance, prevent mechanical wear spreading to other components, and extend the overall lifespan of your prized models.
- Essential for Competition Performance — Whether racing in organised RC clubs or running timed practice sessions, worn bearings create drag and unpredictability; fresh bearings restore that crisp, predictable handling that competitive driving demands.
Technical Performance
Ball bearings are fundamental to RC car performance, and understanding their role helps explain why regular replacement or upgrading matters. The HOBAO Ball Bearing 5 x 10 x 4mm specification indicates an inner bore diameter of 5mm, an outer diameter of 10mm, and a width of 4mm—dimensions that fit precisely into specific mounting points across HOBAO RC vehicles and compatible models. When bearings wear, the rolling elements develop flat spots or microscopic damage, friction increases significantly, and rotational efficiency drops. This manifests as reduced top speed, slower acceleration, heavier steering feel, and increased power consumption from batteries or fuel tanks. Fresh bearings restore the original rolling efficiency, reducing drag across wheel hubs, drivetrain components, and suspension pivot points. HOBAO's engineering ensures these bearings maintain consistent internal geometry and preload characteristics throughout their service life, and when they do eventually wear, replacement is straightforward—simply remove the worn bearing and press in a new one using standard RC tools or a bearing puller. For serious RC enthusiasts in the UK running high-performance electric and nitro RC cars, keeping spare bearings on hand is standard practice, ensuring you're never sidelined by worn components during important driving sessions or race meetings.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What size RC cars use 5 x 10 x 4mm ball bearings? — The 5 x 10 x 4mm bearing size is used on many HOBAO RC models including Hyper series vehicles and similar platforms. Check your RC car's instruction manual or parts diagram to confirm the bearing specifications for your specific model before ordering.
- How often should I replace my RC car bearings? — This depends on usage intensity. Casual weekend RC enthusiasts might replace bearings annually or every 20-30 hours of operation, while competition drivers or heavy-use bashers should inspect bearings monthly and replace them every 10-15 hours of driving. Signs of wear include grinding noises, increased friction, or visible damage to the rolling surfaces.
- Are these bearings suitable for wet or dusty conditions? — Standard ball bearings like these work best in relatively clean, dry conditions. If you frequently run your RC car in muddy, sandy, or wet environments, consider using sealed or shielded bearing variants that offer better protection against contamination, though these are not the specification being offered here.
- How do I install 5 x 10 x 4mm ball bearings? — Installation typically involves using a bearing press, puller tool, or socket set to carefully remove the old bearing and seat the new one into place. The bearing should slide into its mounting point with firm, even pressure—never hammer or force a bearing as this can damage it. Always support the component properly during installation to avoid bending suspension arms or drivetrain parts.
- Will new bearings improve my RC car's performance? — Yes, noticeably. Fresh bearings reduce friction loss in wheels and drivetrain, resulting in improved acceleration, slightly higher top speed, more responsive steering, and reduced current draw from batteries. The difference is especially noticeable if your previous bearings were worn or damaged.
- Are these compatible with non-HOBAO RC cars? — The 5 x 10 x 4mm size is a standard metric bearing dimension used by many RC manufacturers. However, always verify that your specific RC car uses this bearing size before purchasing. Check your car's parts manual or contact the manufacturer to confirm compatibility.
