Technical Performance
The FTX Carnage NT One Way Bearing is a precision-manufactured drivetrain component specifically engineered for the FTX Carnage NT nitro-powered RC buggy platform. As a one-way bearing, this component functions as a critical element within the transmission and drivetrain assembly, allowing rotational movement in one direction whilst preventing reverse motion. This directional control is essential in RC buggy applications where maintaining traction during acceleration and preventing wheel slip during deceleration are paramount to achieving consistent lap times and reliable performance. The bearing operates under high loads and at significant rotational speeds during normal Carnage NT operation, making durability and precision engineering non-negotiable design requirements. The component is manufactured to exact OEM specifications by FTX, guaranteeing that it meets the demanding performance standards expected from this renowned nitro buggy platform. Regular replacement of worn drivetrain components like this bearing is part of responsible maintenance for any competitive or recreational nitro-powered RC car owner, as worn bearings can lead to power loss, inconsistent handling characteristics, and potential damage to connected drivetrain components. This spare part integrates seamlessly with other FTX Carnage NT transmission components including the centre transmission unit, clutch systems, and shaft components, all of which work in concert to deliver the responsive, powerful performance that makes the Carnage NT a favourite among UK RC enthusiasts and international competitors alike.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a one-way bearing and why does my FTX Carnage NT need one? — A one-way bearing, also called a one-way clutch or sprag clutch, is a mechanical component that allows rotation in one direction whilst preventing reverse rotation. In your FTX Carnage NT nitro buggy, this bearing is essential for the transmission and drivetrain system, managing torque transfer between engine and wheels and ensuring consistent power delivery during acceleration, coasting, and braking. The bearing prevents wheel slip and maintains traction by controlling how rotational forces are transmitted through the drivetrain, making it a critical component for both on-track performance and reliability during regular driving.
- How often should I replace the one-way bearing on my FTX Carnage NT? — The frequency of replacement depends on how heavily you use your RC buggy. High-competition drivers who run their Carnage NT frequently may need to replace bearings more often than casual weekend bashers. Signs that your one-way bearing may need replacement include loss of power transmission, inconsistent traction, unusual grinding or clicking noises from the drivetrain, or visible wear during routine maintenance inspection. Regular inspection during normal maintenance routines will help you identify when replacement becomes necessary.
- Is this genuine FTX OEM or an aftermarket part? — This is a genuine, authentic FTX factory spare part manufactured to exact original equipment manufacturer specifications. It is not a generic aftermarket bearing but a purpose-designed component engineered specifically for the FTX Carnage NT platform, guaranteeing perfect compatibility and reliable performance.
- Will this bearing fit my FTX Zorro NT? — Whilst the FTX product range includes both Carnage NT and Zorro NT models, you should verify compatibility with your specific vehicle before purchasing. Consult your RC vehicle's documentation or contact our expert team at RC Model Shop for guidance on part compatibility with your particular model.
- What other Carnage NT spares does RC Model Shop stock? — RC Model Shop carries a comprehensive selection of FTX Carnage NT replacement spares and upgrade components, including transmission units, clutch bells, clutch assemblies, gears, shafts, dogbones, chassis parts, and tuned pipe components. Browse our complete FTX Carnage NT spares category to find all the replacement parts and upgrades you need to maintain and optimise your RC buggy.
- What tools do I need to install this bearing? — Installation requirements depend on your specific Carnage NT configuration and where the bearing sits within your drivetrain assembly. Generally, basic RC maintenance tools including various screwdrivers and possibly tweezers or small hex keys may be needed. Consult your FTX Carnage NT instruction manual for detailed installation guidance, or contact our expert team for technical support.
