These Fastrax rear knuckle arms are specifically engineered for compatibility with Traxxas Slash and Stampede VXL models, ensuring perfect fit and optimal performance. The VXL designation refers to Traxxas's brushless electric power system, and vehicles equipped with this drivetrain deliver impressive speed and acceleration that demands equally impressive suspension components. RC hobbyists in the UK looking to upgrade their Slash or Stampede VXL will find these parts deliver the quality and reliability they've come to expect from established aftermarket manufacturers. Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC maintenance experience, and the upgrade will be immediately noticeable in terms of truck handling and durability.
Key Features
- Blue Anodised Aluminium Construction — The rear knuckle arms are manufactured from high-grade aluminium that has been anodised for superior corrosion resistance and a striking blue colour finish. Anodising creates a protective oxide layer that significantly extends the lifespan of the component while the lightweight material reduces unsprung weight, which improves suspension response and handling characteristics compared to plastic equivalents.
- Direct Compatibility with Slash/Stampede VXL — These knuckle arms are engineered specifically for Traxxas Slash and Stampede VXL models, ensuring they fit perfectly without modification or adjustment. This precision engineering means installation is quick and hassle-free, and performance gains are immediate and measurable.
- Enhanced Durability and Rigidity — Aluminium components are inherently stronger than the plastic parts they replace, offering superior resistance to impact damage, stress fractures and deformation under aggressive driving conditions. This increased rigidity translates to more consistent steering response and better overall suspension performance, particularly during high-speed runs or when navigating rough terrain.
- Improved Aesthetic Appeal — The blue anodised finish adds genuine visual impact to your short course truck, transforming the appearance of the rear suspension and giving your vehicle a more professional, race-ready look. Many RC enthusiasts view suspension upgrades not just as functional improvements but as essential visual enhancements that reflect their investment in quality.
- Suspension Performance Upgrade — As a critical suspension component, the knuckle arms directly influence wheel alignment, camber settings and steering geometry. Upgrading to rigid aluminium versions improves these characteristics, resulting in better traction, more predictable handling and enhanced control during cornering.
- Long-Term Value Proposition — While these components represent an investment beyond the cost of standard replacements, the durability of aluminium and the superior performance characteristics they deliver make them a sensible long-term purchase for serious RC hobbyists who want their Slash or Stampede VXL to perform reliably and maintain its resale value.
Technical Performance
The Fastrax TRX rear knuckle arms exemplify the engineering principles that differentiate premium aftermarket RC components from budget alternatives. Aluminium selected for this application offers the ideal balance between weight and strength, a principle well understood by RC engineers who recognise that reducing unsprung weight – components that are not supported by the suspension – directly improves suspension responsiveness and vehicle handling dynamics. The anodising process applied to these arms creates an oxide surface that resists oxidation, corrosion and general wear far more effectively than painted or bare aluminium finishes, particularly in the damp UK climate where salt spray from winter roads and moisture can degrade lesser components. These rear knuckle arms integrate seamlessly into the suspension geometry of Traxxas Slash and Stampede VXL vehicles, maintaining proper camber, castor and toe-in angles that have been optimised for the brushless electric powertrain and chassis design of these models. The knuckle arm serves as the pivot point for the steering linkage and the mounting point for the wheel bearing assembly; upgrading this component to aluminium ensures that suspension movements remain precise and repeatable, eliminating the flex and compliance issues that can develop in plastic parts subjected to repeated impacts and high-frequency vibration. For drivers who regularly bash their RC short course truck or compete in timed events, the performance consistency delivered by rigid aluminium knuckle arms represents a measurable advantage over time-worn plastic components that gradually degrade through normal use.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will these rear knuckle arms fit my Traxxas Slash or Stampede? — These Fastrax rear knuckle arms are specifically engineered for Traxxas Slash and Stampede VXL models. The VXL designation refers to vehicles equipped with Traxxas's brushless electric motor system. Before purchasing, confirm that your vehicle matches one of the compatible models listed in the specifications. If you own a different Slash variant (such as a 2WD model or earlier generation), you may need different components. These arms will not fit non-Traxxas vehicles or Traxxas models outside the Slash/Stampede family.
- What is the advantage of aluminium over the plastic factory parts? — Aluminium offers multiple advantages over plastic knuckle arms. First, it is significantly stronger and more resistant to impact damage, which means the components will tolerate hard crashes and aggressive driving without cracking or deforming. Second, aluminium is more rigid, which improves suspension precision and steering response – plastic parts gradually flex and lose their original geometry, degrading handling characteristics. Third, anodised aluminium resists corrosion far more effectively than painted or bare alternatives, meaning these parts will maintain their appearance and functional properties for years of use. Finally, the lighter weight of aluminium compared to reinforced plastic reduces unsprung weight, which improves suspension action and overall vehicle responsiveness. For serious RC hobbyists in the UK who regularly use their vehicles, upgrading to quality aluminium suspension components represents a measurable performance investment.
- Are these rear knuckle arms difficult to install? — Installation of these Fastrax rear knuckle arms requires only basic RC maintenance skills and standard RC tools such as hex wrenches and screwdrivers. The components are designed to mount directly in place of the factory plastic knuckle arms using the same fastening points. Most hobbyists can complete the installation in under 30 minutes. If you are unfamiliar with RC suspension maintenance, we recommend consulting the Traxxas Slash or Stampede assembly documentation or watching online installation guides specific to your model. Installation is within the capabilities of anyone with basic mechanical aptitude.
- How will these parts affect my Slash or Stampede's performance? — Upgrading to aluminium rear knuckle arms will improve several aspects of your vehicle's performance. You will notice more responsive steering, particularly when cornering at speed. The suspension will feel more composed during hard acceleration and deceleration, and the vehicle will maintain better consistency over repeated runs – important for drivers who like to time their best laps or compete in organised events. The increased rigidity means the suspension geometry remains stable and predictable, whereas worn plastic parts gradually flex and change the vehicle's handling characteristics. Over time, these improvements become more noticeable as factory plastic parts degrade through normal use.
- Why choose Fastrax over other aftermarket brands? — Fastrax is a recognised manufacturer with an established reputation for producing high-quality RC upgrade parts. The blue anodised finish on these rear knuckle arms is applied using proper industrial anodising techniques that create a durable, corrosion-resistant surface. Fastrax components are engineered to strict tolerances, ensuring precise fit and compatibility. Customer reviews specifically highlight that these parts fit fantastically and deliver performance comparable to more expensive branded alternatives. For UK RC hobbyists seeking good value and proven quality, Fastrax represents an excellent choice.
- Are these parts compatible with both Slash and Stampede models? — These Fastrax rear knuckle arms are compatible with both Traxxas Slash and Stampede VXL models. The VXL designation confirms compatibility with brushless-equipped variants of these vehicles. If you own multiple models in this family, these arms can upgrade both vehicles. However, always verify your specific model number matches one of the compatible variants listed in the product specifications before purchasing.
