The FS-CEV04 represents FlySky's commitment to delivering practical, space-saving solutions for RC builders and hobbyists across the UK and beyond.
This is an ideal solution if you're looking to streamline your RC setup, whether you run ready-to-run models, custom builds, or competition-grade vehicles. The FS-CEV04 fits naturally into existing FlySky ecosystems and provides the reliability and precision that serious RC enthusiasts demand from their control systems.
Key Features
- 4-Channel iBUS Serial Bus Design — The FS-CEV04 utilises FlySky's iBUS serial protocol, which transmits all channel information through a single data line instead of requiring individual servo cables for each channel, dramatically reducing wiring complexity and clutter in your RC model.
- Compatible with i6X Radio and iA6B Receiver — Designed with suggested compatibility with the FlySky i6X radio transmitter and iA6B receiver, ensuring smooth integration into existing FlySky-based RC setups without requiring additional adapters or modifications.
- Dual Data Port Options — The i.bus/servo data port provides flexibility, allowing connection to both iBUS-equipped devices and traditional servo connectors, making this module adaptable to various RC configurations and installation requirements.
- Compact and Lightweight Construction — Measuring just 30 × 25.6 × 13 millimetres and weighing only 8.1 grams, the FS-CEV04 fits seamlessly into confined spaces within RC cars, boats, and other surface models, keeping your vehicle as lightweight as possible without sacrificing control functionality.
- Wide Operating Voltage Range — Supporting 4.0 to 6.5 volts DC, the FS-CEV04 works with most standard RC battery configurations, giving you flexibility in power supply choices across different models and setups.
- Reliable Environmental Performance — Engineered to operate across a temperature range of 0 to +60 degrees Celsius and humidity levels between 20 and 95 percent, this receiver maintains consistent performance in UK weather conditions and during extended outdoor RC sessions.
- Surface Model Optimisation — Purpose-built for car and boat applications, the FS-CEV04 brings dedicated surface model engineering to your RC hobby, with no unnecessary features adding weight or complexity.
Technical Performance
The FS-CEV04 represents solid engineering focused on simplifying RC control systems without compromising reliability. Built around FlySky's proven iBUS serial bus architecture, this receiver concentrates on doing one job exceptionally well: managing channel information through a single, efficient data connection. The compact dimensions of 30 × 25.6 × 13 millimetres make this module one of the most space-efficient receiver solutions available for UK RC car and boat builders, whilst the 8.1-gram weight ensures it has minimal impact on your model's overall mass and handling characteristics. The operating voltage range of 4.0 to 6.5 volts DC accommodates standard battery configurations used across most RC surface models, from budget-friendly brushed setups to high-performance brushless installations. Environmental specifications indicate robust performance across the temperature range most UK hobbyists will encounter, from cool winter operations to warm summer sessions, with humidity tolerance extending to 95 percent—important for outdoor RC activities in the British climate. The iBUS/servo data port architecture means you can reduce wiring complexity significantly compared to traditional multi-cable receiver setups, which translates to easier installation, better cable management, and reduced potential for connection failures in your RC model.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the FlySky FS-CEV04 suitable for RC car and boat beginners in the UK? — Yes, the FS-CEV04 is well-suited for beginners who already own or plan to use compatible FlySky radio equipment like the i6X transmitter. If you're new to RC and building your first car or boat, the simplicity of iBUS wiring actually makes installation easier than traditional multi-channel receiver setups, as you only need to manage a single data connection rather than multiple servo cables. However, ensure your radio system and receiver are iBUS-compatible before purchasing.
- What battery voltage does the FS-CEV04 need? — The FS-CEV04 operates on 4.0 to 6.5 volts DC, which covers most standard RC battery configurations used in surface models across the UK, including 2-cell LiPo batteries (7.4V nominal, operating around 6.0-6.5V when fresh) and various NiMH configurations. Always check your battery voltage to ensure it falls within this range before connecting the receiver.
- Can I use the FS-CEV04 with non-FlySky radio systems? — The FS-CEV04 is specifically designed for FlySky iBUS systems with suggested compatibility for the i6X radio and iA6B receiver. Using it with non-FlySky radios is not recommended, as the iBUS protocol is proprietary to FlySky and incompatible with other brands' systems.
- How many channels does the FS-CEV04 provide? — The FS-CEV04 is a 4-channel receiver, providing control for four independent functions in your RC model. This is suitable for basic RC cars (steering and throttle) or boats (rudder and throttle) with additional channels for auxiliary functions like lights, winches, or camera control if your transmitter supports them.
- What are the exact dimensions and weight of this receiver? — The FS-CEV04 measures 30 × 25.6 × 13 millimetres in size and weighs just 8.1 grams, making it one of the most compact receiver options available for UK RC surface models where space and weight are critical considerations.
- Does the FS-CEV04 support online updates? — No, the FS-CEV04 does not support online firmware updates. This means the software is fixed at manufacture and will not change throughout the product's life, which provides stability but also means you cannot access future improvements or fixes via updates.
- What humidity and temperature conditions can the FS-CEV04 handle? — The receiver operates reliably between 0 and +60 degrees Celsius and can handle humidity levels from 20 to 95 percent, making it suitable for UK outdoor RC activities throughout the year, including damp conditions and temperature variations common in British weather.
