Overview
The FMS BAE HAWK CONTROL HORNS (FMSRD109) are precision flight control components designed for RC aircraft enthusiasts building or maintaining their FMS BAE Hawk models. These control horns are essential replacement or upgrade parts for anyone operating scale RC planes, whether you're an experienced pilot looking to maintain your aircraft or a hobbyist seeking reliable control linkage components. Control horns are fundamental to any RC aircraft's control surface system, serving as the connection point between your servo mechanism and the aircraft's control surfaces such as ailerons, elevators, and rudders.
Built to the exact specifications required for the BAE Hawk airframe, these 80mm control horns ensure precise and responsive flight control authority. Whether you're flying in the UK or anywhere else, having quality replacement control horns on hand is essential for keeping your RC aircraft in peak flying condition. The BAE Hawk is a popular choice among RC pilots who appreciate scale military aircraft, and maintaining proper control horn quality directly impacts your aircraft's flight performance and safety. These components represent the kind of precision engineering that separates a well-maintained RC model from one prone to control issues and unpredictable flight characteristics.
At RC Model Shop, we understand the importance of having genuine, high-quality components for your RC aircraft. The FMS BAE HAWK CONTROL HORNS represent the original manufacturer's solution for this critical component, ensuring perfect fitment and reliable operation with your model.
Key Features
- 80mm Size Configuration — These control horns are sized specifically at 80mm to provide the correct geometry and mechanical advantage for the BAE Hawk airframe, ensuring optimal servo response and control surface deflection without binding or excessive play in the control linkage.
- Genuine FMS Manufacturing — Produced by FMS Hobby, the manufacturer of the BAE Hawk airframe itself, these control horns are engineered to exact specifications and guaranteed to fit perfectly with no compatibility issues or fitment problems that might occur with generic aftermarket alternatives.
- Precision Flight Control — Control horns are critical components in your aircraft's control chain, transmitting servo movement directly to control surfaces, and these parts ensure smooth, responsive flight control input without mechanical slack or binding that could compromise handling characteristics.
- Replacement and Upgrade Solution — Whether you need to replace damaged or worn control horns from an existing model or want to upgrade your existing setup with genuine manufacturer parts, these components provide the reliability and precision required for consistent flight performance.
- Affordable Pricing — At just £6.99, these control horns represent excellent value for a critical flight control component, making it economical to keep spares on hand for maintenance and repair projects.
Technical Performance
Control horns are mechanical components that form the essential connection between your aircraft's servo motors and its control surfaces. The 80mm dimension specified for the BAE Hawk control horns determines the mechanical advantage and deflection characteristics of your aircraft's control surfaces. These precision parts are manufactured to exacting tolerances to eliminate play and binding in the control linkage system. The quality of your control horns directly affects how responsively your RC aircraft responds to servo input, with poorly made or damaged horns resulting in sluggish or unpredictable control response. FMS has engineered these control horns specifically for their BAE Hawk airframe, ensuring perfect compatibility with the airframe's servo mounting points, linkage holes, and overall control architecture. The materials and construction techniques used ensure durability through regular flying operations whilst maintaining dimensional stability across temperature variations typical of outdoor RC flying in the UK and beyond.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these control horns suitable for replacing damaged parts on my existing BAE Hawk model? — Yes, these are genuine FMS replacement parts designed specifically for the BAE Hawk airframe. If your existing control horns are cracked, bent, or showing wear, these replacements will restore your aircraft's control response to original factory specifications.
- What makes control horns important for RC aircraft performance? — Control horns are the mechanical link between your servo motors and control surfaces. Quality control horns ensure precise, responsive control without play or binding in the linkage system. Poor quality or damaged horns can result in sluggish control response, deadband, and unpredictable flight characteristics that make your aircraft difficult or unsafe to fly.
- Will these control horns work with other RC aircraft models? — These control horns are specifically engineered for the FMS BAE Hawk airframe. Whilst the 80mm size might be compatible with other aircraft, we recommend using components designed for your specific model to ensure proper fitment, correct control geometry, and optimal flight performance.
- How often do I need to replace control horns? — With proper care, control horns can last for many flights. However, they should be inspected regularly for cracks, bending, or looseness at mounting points. If you notice sluggish control response, binding, or visible damage, replacement is recommended to maintain flight safety and responsiveness.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — These are replacement components rather than a complete system, so they're best suited for pilots who already have a BAE Hawk model and understand basic RC aircraft maintenance. Beginners should start with a ready-to-fly BAE Hawk model and only need these parts when performing maintenance or repairs.
- What tools do I need to install these control horns? — Installation typically requires basic hand tools such as screwdrivers and potentially a drill to secure the horns to servo arms and linkage points. Refer to your BAE Hawk assembly manual for specific installation procedures and recommended fastening methods.
