Overview

The Fastrax Replacement 1/16" Tip for Interchangeable Hex Wrench is an essential accessory for any serious RC enthusiast in the UK who works on their RC cars, buggies, trucks and crawlers regularly. This precision-engineered replacement tip is designed specifically to work with Fastrax's interchangeable hex wrench system, allowing you to quickly swap between different hex sizes without needing to carry multiple tools in your RC toolkit. Whether you're a weekend basher maintaining your brushless RC monster truck, or a dedicated competitor fine-tuning your 1/10 scale RC buggy before a race day, having replacement hex tips on hand ensures you're never caught without the right tool size when you need it most.

RC model building and maintenance demands precision tools that can handle the demands of regular use. The 1/16" tip size is a common requirement across many popular RC platforms, from Traxxas and ARRMA models to custom-built machines. This replacement tip lets you keep your interchangeable hex wrench system fully functional by replacing worn, damaged or lost tips without purchasing an entirely new wrench tool. For UK RC hobbyists who take their models seriously, investing in quality replacement parts like this demonstrates a commitment to proper maintenance and longevity of your RC equipment.

Manufactured by Fastrax, a recognised brand in the RC accessory market, this replacement tip represents excellent value for money at just £2.99. It's the kind of small but important accessory that separates casual RC owners from dedicated enthusiasts who understand that proper maintenance tools are just as important as the models themselves. Stock up on spare tips so you always have the right size available when working on your RC collection.

Key Features

  • 1/16" Hex Tip Size — This replacement tip provides the 1/16" hex measurement, which is one of the most commonly used sizes across the RC hobby for adjusting screws, fasteners and components on everything from small scale crawlers to full-sized RC trucks and buggies.
  • Interchangeable Design — The tip is engineered to work seamlessly with Fastrax's interchangeable hex wrench system, allowing you to build a complete toolkit by collecting different tip sizes and swapping them as needed for your current project or maintenance task.
  • Replacement Tip Format — Rather than replacing your entire wrench tool, this allows you to simply swap out the worn or damaged tip, saving money and reducing waste by keeping your existing handle and tool system intact.
  • Quality Construction — Manufactured by Fastrax to precise specifications, ensuring accurate fit and reliable performance across thousands of RC models and maintenance applications.
  • Compact and Portable — The replacement tip format keeps your tool kit lightweight and portable, perfect for carrying to the track, to a mate's house for maintenance sessions, or keeping in your RC car bag alongside your brushless motor tools and charging equipment.
  • Universal Compatibility — Works with the Fastrax interchangeable hex wrench system, making it an essential spare for anyone who has already invested in this tool system and wants to maintain full functionality across all required hex sizes.

Technical Performance

This replacement hex tip delivers the precision engineering you'd expect from a specialist RC tool manufacturer. The 1/16" measurement provides exact compatibility with the fasteners found on countless RC platforms, from entry-level ready to run models right through to competition-grade machines. The tip is designed to minimise wobble and provide a positive, secure engagement with hex-headed bolts and screws, which is critical when you're working on expensive RC equipment like brushless motor assemblies, ESC connections, servo mounts, and suspension components. By replacing just the tip rather than the entire tool, you maintain consistency in your toolkit and reduce unnecessary costs. The interchangeable design means you can build a comprehensive toolkit covering all the hex sizes you regularly need without cluttering your workspace or RC pit bag. Whether you're performing routine maintenance on your latest 1/10 scale RC buggy, adjusting suspension geometry on your rock crawler, or fine-tuning your RC monster truck before a weekend bash, having quality replacement tips ensures you can always perform the work properly and safely.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a 1/16" hex tip and what fasteners does it fit? — A 1/16" hex tip (also called 1.6mm) is one of the most commonly used hex sizes in RC hobby work. It fits the small hex-headed bolts and screws found on servo mounts, motor plates, suspension components, body posts, and various fasteners across RC cars, buggies, trucks and crawlers from brands like Traxxas, ARRMA, Losi and many others.
  • How do I know if I need a replacement 1/16" tip? — If your Fastrax interchangeable hex wrench system's 1/16" tip is worn, stripped, bent, or lost, a replacement tip allows you to continue using your existing wrench handle without purchasing an entirely new tool. This is far more economical than replacing the complete wrench.
  • Can I use this tip with other brand hex wrench handles? — This tip is specifically designed for the Fastrax interchangeable hex wrench system. For compatibility with other brands, you would need to check their specifications, though the standardised nature of interchangeable hex tips means many are compatible across different manufacturers.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Beginners working on their first RC car or maintaining a ready to run model will find this tip essential. Learning proper maintenance techniques with quality tools is one of the best habits you can develop as an RC enthusiast in the UK.
  • What is the difference between buying a replacement tip versus a complete new wrench? — A replacement tip costs significantly less than a complete new wrench (just £2.99), and it lets you keep using your existing handle and tool system. This is more economical and makes sense if your wrench handle is still in good condition.
  • Why should I stock spare hex tips? — Tips can wear out, break, or get lost, especially if you're an active RC enthusiast who regularly maintains your models. Having spares means you're never caught without the right tool size when you need to adjust something on your RC buggy, truck, or crawler.
