This extension wire joins a comprehensive range of servo leads and cables designed to keep your wiring neat, organised and the right length for your specific installation requirements. Whether you're a seasoned competitor fine-tuning your race setup, a weekend basher building your dream machine, or just discovering the world of RC for the first time, having the correct extension leads on hand is essential for professional results.
Key Features
- Twisted-pair construction — The twisted wire design actively reduces electromagnetic and radio frequency interference, ensuring clean signal transmission to your servo even on longer cable runs, which is especially important when precision steering and control response are critical to your RC performance.
- 22AWG wire gauge — This wire size offers the optimal balance between flexibility for routing through tight spaces and sufficient current capacity for standard servo applications, making it versatile across cars, crawlers, planes, helicopters and boats without voltage drop concerns.
- Futaba-style connector with keyed housing — The industry-standard Futaba connector design features a keyed housing that prevents accidental reversed connections, protecting your servo from polarity-related damage and ensuring reliable, stress-free connections every time.
- Clear polarity markings — Both the connector and wire are clearly marked for correct polarity, taking the guesswork out of installation and allowing you to work confidently knowing your connections are correct from the start.
- 7cm compact length — Perfect for installations where space is limited, this 70mm extension lead fits neatly into tight servo bays without excess cable creating bulk or routing challenges in your RC model.
- Male-to-female configuration — Standard servo extension lead design allows you to extend existing servo leads by connecting the female end to your receiver servo output and plugging your servo into the male end, offering complete flexibility in your setup.
- Universal compatibility — Works with any Futaba-compatible receiver and servo combination, making it an invaluable addition to your RC toolkit regardless of the specific models you run.
Technical Performance
The Etronix 7cm 22AWG Futaba Twisted Extension Wire represents professional-quality engineering in a compact format. The twisted-pair construction is the key to its superior performance, as the intertwined copper conductors actively cancel out electromagnetic noise that can cause servo jitter, signal dropout or unpredictable control response—particularly important when you're running high-current motor wires in close proximity to your signal lines. The 22AWG wire gauge has been specifically selected for servo applications, providing adequate current capacity for typical servo loads whilst maintaining the flexibility needed for routing through confined spaces within your RC chassis. The Futaba-style connector with its keyed housing is the industry standard across countless RC vehicles, ensuring compatibility with your existing receiver and servo equipment. The male-to-female configuration allows seamless extension of your servo signal path, and the clear polarity markings prevent the installation errors that could otherwise result in servo damage or loss of control. At just 7cm in length, this lead is ideal for vehicles where receiver mounting locations demand shorter extension paths, such as compact crawlers, tight helicopter frames, or minimalist racing setups where every millimetre of internal space counts. The twisted-pair design makes this lead particularly valuable on longer runs where signal integrity becomes compromised, though its compact size makes it equally useful in standard installations where noise reduction is simply good practice.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between twisted-pair and straight servo extension leads? — Twisted-pair leads like the Etronix ET0730 feature wires that are intertwined together, which actively cancels out electromagnetic interference and reduces signal noise, making them ideal for longer runs or installations where motor wires run close to servo signal lines. Straight extension leads are simpler and adequate for short runs or less electrically noisy environments. For best results, the source recommends routing signal leads away from high-current motor wires, securing with cable ties, and considering this twisted-pair design as part of a complete noise-reduction strategy.
- What length extension lead do I need for my RC model? — The choice depends on your specific installation. The 7cm Etronix ET0730 is perfect for compact setups with tight servo bays, such as small crawlers, racing buggies with centrally mounted receivers, or any installation where space is limited. The same manufacturer also produces longer twisted-pair extension leads in 10cm, 15cm, 30cm, 45cm, 60cm, 90cm and 120cm lengths, allowing you to choose the exact length your setup requires.
- Is this compatible with my RC receiver and servo? — Yes, provided your receiver and servo use standard Futaba-style connectors, which are the most common connector type across RC cars, crawlers, planes, helicopters and boats. The keyed housing on the Futaba connector prevents accidental reversed connections. If your equipment uses JR-style connectors instead, Etronix also manufactures equivalent twisted-pair extension leads with JR connectors.
- Will this reduce servo jitter and signal noise? — The twisted-pair construction is specifically designed to reduce electromagnetic interference and signal noise, which can manifest as servo jitter or unpredictable movement. For best results, route your signal leads away from high-current motor wires, secure everything with cable ties, and consider using locking clips or tab retainers on your connectors for hard-running models where vibration might otherwise loosen connections.
- What applications is this suitable for? — This extension lead is ideal for cars, crawlers, planes, helicopters and boats—essentially any RC vehicle type that uses standard servo connections. Its 7cm length makes it particularly suited to compact installations or situations where receiver mounting location demands minimal extension length.
