Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 50 WT is an essential maintenance fluid for RC enthusiasts who demand the best performance from their shock absorbers. Whether you're running a high-performance RC buggy, RC monster truck, or any competitive RC car UK setup, having the correct shock oil viscosity is critical to achieving optimal suspension tuning and consistent handling characteristics. This 150ml bottle of premium ultra pure silicone shock oil represents professional-grade quality that serious RC racers and weekend bashers alike depend on to keep their vehicles performing at their peak.

Shock oil selection is one of the most overlooked yet important aspects of RC car setup and maintenance. The viscosity grade you choose directly affects how your suspension responds to bumps, jumps, and cornering forces. Too thin and your shocks won't provide enough damping; too thick and your suspension becomes sluggish and unresponsive. The 50 WT grade in this bottle sits perfectly in the middle of the viscosity spectrum, making it ideal for a wide range of RC applications and driving conditions. Whether you're tuning a ready to run RC car or fine-tuning a competition-grade racing platform, this shock oil gives you the precision fluid you need.

Corally has built a reputation for delivering high-quality RC components and fluids that match the demands of serious hobbyists. This ultra pure silicone formulation ensures consistency, reliability, and compatibility with all standard RC shock absorber designs. The 150ml size provides excellent value and enough fluid for multiple shock services or to keep as backup stock in your pit box.

Key Features

  • Ultra Pure Silicone Formulation — The shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, which ensures consistent viscosity characteristics, minimal degradation over time, and reliable performance across a wide range of operating temperatures. Pure silicone oils do not break down as quickly as mineral-based alternatives, meaning your shocks will maintain their damping characteristics lap after lap and session after session.
  • 50 WT Viscosity Grade — The 50 WT specification indicates the oil's resistance to flow at standard temperature conditions. This mid-range viscosity is versatile enough to work effectively in most RC suspension setups, from off-road buggies to on-road touring cars, making it an excellent general-purpose choice for hobbyists with multiple vehicles or those still dialling in their suspension geometry.
  • 150ml Generous Bottle Size — The 150ml capacity provides ample fluid for servicing multiple shock absorbers or maintaining a well-stocked spare parts collection. This size strikes a perfect balance between having sufficient quantities whilst remaining portable enough to carry to track days, races, or casual driving sessions.
  • Professional Grade Quality — Corally's shock oils are formulated to professional standards, ensuring they meet the exacting demands of competitive RC racing where suspension performance directly influences lap times and overall vehicle handling. The consistency and purity of this product make it suitable for everything from casual basher setups to serious competition vehicles.
  • Easy Application and Handling — The liquid form makes application straightforward; simply pour the required amount into your shock bodies according to your vehicle's specifications and suspension tuning requirements. The bottle design allows for controlled pouring to minimise spillage and waste.

Technical Performance

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 50 WT represents a precisely engineered fluid designed to deliver consistent damping performance in RC shock absorbers across a comprehensive range of driving conditions and environmental temperatures. The ultra pure silicone base ensures molecular stability, which is essential because shock oil must maintain consistent viscosity whether you're driving on a hot summer's day or during cooler autumn sessions. The 50 WT grade provides optimal flow characteristics that allow shock pistons to move smoothly through their travel whilst still providing adequate resistance to damping forces. This viscosity is particularly well-suited for general-purpose RC applications, serving as a reliable middle ground that works effectively in saloon cars, buggies, trucks, and crawlers without requiring constant switching between different grades. The 150ml bottle capacity ensures you have sufficient fluid for multiple shock servicing operations, with typical RC shock absorbers holding between 3-8ml of oil depending on design and length. The formulation's resistance to thermal breakdown means your shocks will perform consistently whether you're running quick afternoon sessions or all-day racing events, maintaining the suspension geometry and handling characteristics you've carefully tuned into your vehicle. For RC car UK enthusiasts engaged in competitive or recreational driving, this shock oil delivers the technical foundation necessary for predictable, responsive suspension behaviour that translates directly into better vehicle control and improved lap consistency.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What viscosity grade shock oil do I need for my RC car? — The correct viscosity depends on your vehicle type, track conditions, and personal driving style, but 50 WT is an excellent starting point for most hobbyists. Lighter grades like 30 WT provide less damping resistance and suit high-speed tracks or drivers preferring a more responsive suspension, whilst heavier grades like 100 WT and above offer more resistance and suit bumpy terrain or slower technical courses. If you're new to suspension tuning, 50 WT offers a balanced middle ground that works well across diverse applications.
  • Is this shock oil compatible with all RC vehicles? — Yes, this ultra pure silicone formulation is compatible with all standard RC shock absorber designs including those found in ready to run RC cars, competition buggies, monster trucks, and crawlers. The 100% pure silicone composition ensures it won't react negatively with standard shock seals and internal components, making it universally suitable across the RC hobby.
  • How often should I change my shock oil? — For casual bashers, shock oil can be serviced every few months or whenever you notice damping performance degrading. Competitive racers typically service shocks more frequently, often multiple times per season or before important races. Regular maintenance ensures consistent performance, so checking your shock damping feel regularly and servicing when performance declines is the best approach.
  • What makes Corally shock oil different from other brands? — Corally's shock oils are formulated to professional standards and manufactured as 100% pure silicone, which provides superior consistency and thermal stability compared to many budget alternatives. This purity ensures reliable performance across temperature ranges and extended service life, meaning your shocks maintain their tuned characteristics for longer periods between services.
  • Can I mix different shock oil brands or viscosity grades? — Mixing shock oils is not recommended as different formulations may have varying viscosity characteristics that could affect damping consistency. Stick to a single brand and grade for reliable, predictable suspension behaviour. If you need to change viscosity grades, fully drain and flush the old oil before filling with the new grade.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. While shock oil selection might seem technical, 50 WT is the most versatile grade for newcomers to the hobby, working effectively across most vehicle types and driving styles. Beginners should focus on learning proper shock servicing techniques and can confidently use this grade whilst developing their suspension tuning knowledge.
