Overview
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 22.5 WT is an essential maintenance fluid for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision tuning and optimal shock absorber performance in their RC cars. Whether you're a competitive racer fine-tuning your 1/10 scale buggy or a weekend basher looking to maintain your RC monster truck, this high-quality silicone shock oil delivers the consistency and purity required for smooth suspension action and predictable handling characteristics. At 22.5 WT viscosity, this fluid strikes an ideal balance for most RC applications, providing the right damping properties without being too thick or too thin.
Team Corally's Ultra Pure Silicone formulation is engineered specifically for shock absorbers used in modern RC vehicles. The 150ml bottle provides ample volume for multiple shock services, making it an economical choice for serious RC hobbyists who understand the importance of regular maintenance. Pure silicone oils offer superior stability compared to cheaper alternatives, resisting temperature fluctuations and maintaining consistent viscosity across extended driving sessions. This reliability is crucial whether you're running your RC car in summer heat or cool UK winter conditions.
Shock oil selection is one of the most overlooked aspects of RC setup, yet it directly influences how your vehicle's suspension responds to terrain, corners and jumps. Using the correct viscosity grade allows you to dial in your suspension response precisely, improving traction, stability and overall handling. This 22.5 WT formulation from Team Corally is trusted by RC enthusiasts across the UK who appreciate the performance benefits of genuine, high-quality maintenance products.
Key Features
- Ultra Pure Silicone Formula — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, which provides superior consistency, thermal stability and resistance to degradation compared to inferior blended oils, ensuring your suspension performs reliably lap after lap.
- 22.5 WT Viscosity Grade — The WT marking indicates the viscosity rating is specifically optimised for shock absorbers, with 22.5 WT offering the ideal balance between fluid flow and damping force for most RC car applications and suspension setups.
- 150ml Bottle Size — The practical 150ml capacity provides enough shock oil to service multiple shocks multiple times, making this an economical choice for regular maintenance and experimentation with different viscosity grades.
- Team Corally Quality Assurance — As a product from Team Corally, a recognised manufacturer of premium RC components, this shock oil meets strict quality standards and is formulated to work harmoniously with Corally vehicles and other major RC brands.
- Temperature Stable Performance — Pure silicone oils maintain consistent viscosity across a wide temperature range, meaning your shock absorber response remains predictable whether you're racing in summer heat or during cooler UK weather conditions.
- Professional Grade Composition — Designed for serious RC enthusiasts and competitors who understand that suspension tuning is critical to vehicle performance, this fluid allows for precise viscosity-based suspension adjustments.
Technical Performance
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 22.5 WT represents professional-grade suspension maintenance fluid engineering. At 22.5 WT, this viscosity grade is specifically formulated for shock absorber applications, providing the optimal balance between damping force and fluid flow characteristics. The 100% pure silicone composition ensures superior thermal stability, meaning the oil won't thin excessively in hot conditions or thicken unpredictably in cold weather, maintaining consistent suspension response throughout your driving session. This is particularly important for RC enthusiasts in the UK who may encounter varying weather conditions throughout the year. The 150ml bottle is sized for practical use, allowing multiple shock services whilst remaining compact and convenient to store in your RC garage or pit box. Pure silicone formulations are preferred by competitive RC drivers because they resist viscosity breakdown under the stress of repeated compression and extension cycles, unlike cheaper mineral or blended alternatives. The oil's purity also prevents residue buildup within shock cylinders, extending the lifespan of your suspension components and maintaining smooth, predictable damping characteristics over time.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What viscosity grade should I choose for my RC shock absorbers? — Shock oil viscosity selection depends on your specific suspension setup, vehicle type and driving style. The 22.5 WT grade from Corally is a versatile mid-range option suitable for most RC cars including buggies, trucks and stadium vehicles. Lower viscosity (thinner) oils provide softer damping, whilst higher viscosity (thicker) oils provide firmer damping. Many RC enthusiasts keep multiple viscosity grades available for fine-tuning performance on different tracks or in different weather conditions.
- Is this pure silicone oil better than other shock oils? — Yes, 100% pure silicone formulations offer significant advantages over cheaper mineral oils or blended alternatives. Pure silicone maintains consistent viscosity across temperature extremes, resists breakdown under compression cycles, and prevents residue buildup inside your shock absorbers. This results in longer-lasting components and more predictable, consistent suspension performance across multiple driving sessions.
- How often should I change my shock oil? — The frequency depends on your usage intensity, but many serious RC competitors change shock oil every 5-10 hours of driving, or whenever they notice damping becoming inconsistent. Casual weekend bashers might only service shocks annually or when performance deteriorates. Regular maintenance extends shock life and ensures your suspension performs predictably.
- Can I use this oil in shocks from other RC brands? — Yes, this Team Corally shock oil is compatible with shock absorbers from most major RC manufacturers. However, always verify your specific vehicle's manual to confirm shock compatibility and recommended viscosity grades, as some specialist vehicles may require specific oil properties.
- What is the difference between this 22.5 WT and other viscosity grades? — WT ratings indicate shock oil viscosity for damping applications. Lower numbers like 15 WT provide lighter, softer damping suitable for high-speed tracks or loose terrain. Higher numbers like 30 WT or 40 WT provide stiffer damping for technical courses or when maximum suspension control is needed. The 22.5 WT offers a middle-ground versatility suitable for most general RC driving.
