Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 800 CPS is a professional-grade suspension fluid designed for RC enthusiasts who demand precision and consistency in their shock absorber performance. Whether you're running a high-speed RC buggy, an off-road crawler, or a competitive race car, selecting the correct shock oil viscosity is absolutely critical to achieving optimal suspension response and handling characteristics. This 60ml bottle of 800 cSt silicone oil represents the mid-range viscosity option within Corally's comprehensive shock oil lineup, making it suitable for a wide variety of RC applications across different track conditions and driving styles. Team Corally has built a reputation for manufacturing premium RC components, and their shock oils are no exception — they are manufactured and bottled in Europe to the highest standards, ensuring every bottle you purchase meets exacting quality control specifications.

For RC car enthusiasts across the UK seeking reliable, consistent shock fluid for their RC models, Corally's Ultra Pure Silicone oils offer professional-grade performance at accessible prices. The 800 CPS viscosity sits perfectly in the middle of Corally's range, which spans from thin 100 cPs oils for softer suspension feel through to thick 1000 cPs oils for maximum suspension stiffness. This versatility means that whether you're tuning a 1/10 buggy for track racing or fine-tuning a 1/8 scale truck for off-road bashing, you'll find the exact viscosity you need within the Corally range. The ultra-pure silicone formulation ensures temperature stability, meaning your suspension characteristics remain consistent whether you're racing on a cold winter morning or during a summer track session in the UK.

What truly sets this product apart is Corally's commitment to quality control and batch consistency. Each production batch is rheometer calibrated — a professional laboratory measurement technique — to ensure the highest possible consistency from one bottle to the next. This means when you purchase replacement shock oil, you can be confident that you're getting fluid with identical viscosity characteristics to your previous bottle, eliminating variables when fine-tuning your RC suspension setup.

Key Features

  • Ultra Pure Silicone Formulation — The 800 CPS shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, which provides superior performance consistency and temperature stability compared to mineral oils or synthetic blends, ensuring your suspension performs reliably across varying weather conditions.
  • Rheometer Calibrated Batches — Each production batch undergoes professional rheometer calibration to guarantee precise viscosity measurement in industry-standard CPS units, ensuring batch-to-batch consistency so your suspension tuning remains stable even when replacing depleted shock fluid.
  • European Manufacturing and Bottling — Produced and bottled in Europe under strict quality control standards, delivering peace of mind that you're purchasing a premium product manufactured to exacting European specifications rather than lower-cost alternatives.
  • Comprehensive Viscosity Range — Corally's shock oil portfolio spans from 100 cPs through to 1000 cPs with multiple intermediate grades, allowing you to find the precise viscosity your specific RC application requires, whether you need a softer setup for tight circuits or stiffer suspension for rough terrain.
  • Drop-by-Drop Flip Top Cap — The innovative flip top cap design with precise drop-by-drop dispensing prevents waste and spillage, allowing you to add exactly the amount of shock oil your suspension requires without mess or over-filling.
  • Viscosity Indication Label on Cap — Each bottle features a clear viscosity marking on the flip top cap, making it instantly obvious which weight of oil you're handling, eliminating confusion during setup changes or maintenance sessions and ensuring you select the correct oil when making suspension adjustments.
  • Temperature Stable Performance — The pure silicone formulation maintains consistent viscosity across a wide temperature range, meaning your RC suspension characteristics won't change between winter and summer racing, or when moving between different UK venues with varying climate conditions.
  • 60ml Generous Bottle Size — The 60ml (2oz) container provides ample shock fluid for multiple applications, refilling, and fine-tuning adjustments, offering excellent value compared to purchasing multiple smaller bottles.
  • Professional Racing Grade — Used by RC racing competitors and serious hobbyists across Europe, this shock oil represents the standard for precision suspension tuning in the RC car racing community.

Technical Performance

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 800 CPS delivers professional-grade suspension performance through its carefully formulated ultra-pure silicone base. The 800 cSt (centistoke) viscosity rating places this oil in the middle range of Corally's comprehensive lineup, making it an excellent choice for general-purpose RC applications spanning from 1/10 scale buggies to 1/8 scale trucks. The viscosity is measured and verified using industry-proven CPS (centipoise) standards — the same measurement system used by professional racing teams and suspension engineers worldwide. Each 60ml bottle is manufactured in Europe where strict quality assurance protocols ensure that every batch meets identical specifications for viscosity consistency. The pure silicone formulation — containing 100% silicone oil with no mineral additives or synthetic fillers — provides superior thermal stability, meaning the oil maintains its intended viscosity characteristics even when suspension temperatures fluctuate during aggressive driving or extended racing sessions. This temperature stability is critical for maintaining consistent handling characteristics, whether you're running your RC car on a freezing winter morning in Scotland or during a hot summer session in southern England. The rheometer calibration process employed by Corally represents a level of quality control typically found only in professional motorsport and aerospace applications, guaranteeing that batch-to-batch variation is eliminated and you receive fluid with precisely the viscosity specifications printed on the bottle.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What viscosity shock oil should I use for my RC car? — The correct shock oil viscosity depends entirely on your specific RC model, track conditions, and driving style. The Corally range spans from 100 cPs (softer suspension feel, better for tight circuits) through to 1000 cPs (stiffer suspension, better for rough terrain and off-road). The 800 CPS option sits in the middle of this range and is suitable for most general-purpose RC applications. Check your vehicle's manual or consult with experienced RC enthusiasts at your local club to determine whether you need lighter (100-400 cPs) or heavier (800-1000 cPs) oil.
  • Why do I need to change shock oil in my RC car? — Shock oils gradually lose their viscosity consistency as they age, become contaminated with dust or debris, or break down due to temperature exposure. Regularly replacing shock oil with fresh fluid maintains consistent suspension performance, ensures predictable handling characteristics, and prevents shock fluid degradation from affecting your RC car's suspension response during competition or leisure driving.
  • What makes Corally shock oil different from cheaper alternatives? — Corally's Ultra Pure Silicone shock oils are manufactured and bottled in Europe under professional quality control standards, with each batch rheometer calibrated to ensure precise viscosity specifications. This batch-to-batch consistency means you can replace depleted shock oil with complete confidence that you're getting fluid with identical characteristics. Cheaper shock oils often lack this quality assurance, resulting in inconsistent viscosity that can cause unpredictable handling changes during tuning.
  • How often should I replace shock oil in my RC car? — The frequency depends on how often you use your RC car. Casual weekend bashing requires oil changes less frequently than competitive racing. As a general guideline, inspect your shock fluid regularly and replace it if it appears discoloured, contaminated, or if your suspension response becomes inconsistent. Many serious competitors change shock oil before every competition to guarantee optimal suspension performance.
  • Is the 800 CPS oil suitable for beginners? — Yes, the 800 CPS viscosity is ideal for beginners and intermediate RC enthusiasts. It represents a middle-ground viscosity that works well for most RC vehicles and track conditions, eliminating the need to experiment extensively with extremely light or heavy oils. Beginners should consult their vehicle's manual or speak with experienced RC hobbyists at their local club to confirm whether 800 CPS is appropriate for their specific model.
  • What is pure silicone oil and why does it matter? — Pure silicone shock oil is formulated from 100% silicone without mineral oil additives or synthetic fillers. Silicone formulations provide superior temperature stability, meaning the oil maintains consistent viscosity across varying temperature conditions. This is critical for RC racing where consistent suspension performance is essential for competitive results. The pure formulation also resists oxidation and degradation better than mineral alternatives.
  • Can I mix different brands of shock oil? — Whilst mixing different brands may be technically possible, it's not recommended for serious RC enthusiasts or competitors. Corally shock oils are carefully formulated and calibrated, so mixing with other brands risks creating an unknown viscosity that doesn't match your suspension tuning specifications. Always use a single brand of shock oil and replace the entire fluid when switching brands.
  • How do I know if my shock oil viscosity is correct? — Correct shock oil viscosity should result in smooth, predictable suspension response. If your RC car feels too bouncy or underdamped, you may need heavier (thicker) oil. If it feels stiff and doesn't absorb bumps well, you may need lighter oil. The best approach is to start with a middle-range viscosity like 800 CPS and make small adjustments based on track conditions and handling feedback.
