Key Features
- Ultra Pure Silicone Formula — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, ensuring complete compatibility with rubber seals and damper components whilst eliminating any impurities that could affect performance or cause degradation over extended use.
- Rheometer Calibrated Consistency — Every production batch is individually calibrated using a rheometer to verify viscosity accuracy, guaranteeing that each bottle of 400 CPS oil meets the exact specification you expect, batch after batch.
- Temperature Stable Performance — The oil maintains consistent viscosity across a wide temperature range, meaning your suspension won't behave unpredictably whether you're racing in cool UK winter conditions or during a hot summer RC car event.
- Drop-by-Drop Flip Top Cap — The precision flip-top applicator cap allows you to dispense oil one drop at a time, giving you complete control over exact fill levels in your shock absorbers without waste or spillage.
- Viscosity Indication Label on Cap — A clearly printed viscosity rating label on the bottle cap makes it instantly obvious which grade you're using, eliminating confusion when swapping between different oil weights during setup tuning.
- Generous 60ml Content — The 60ml (2oz) bottle provides sufficient volume for multiple shock refills, allowing you to experiment with viscosity adjustments or maintain several RC vehicles in your collection.
- European Manufacturing and Quality — Unlike oils sourced from overseas, this product is manufactured and bottled in Europe to strict quality control standards, ensuring you receive a premium product built to professional RC standards.
- Complete Range Availability — Team Corally offers shock oils from thin 100 CPS up to thick 1000 CPS with numerous stages in between, meaning you can always find the exact viscosity for your specific track conditions and suspension setup.
Technical Performance
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 400 CPS delivers the precise damping performance that serious RC car tuners demand. At 400 centistokes, this mid-range viscosity is engineered to provide balanced suspension response across varied track conditions, making it suitable for both off-road RC buggies and on-road RC racing cars. The use of 100% pure silicone ensures molecular compatibility with your shock absorber seals, preventing deterioration that can occur with lower-quality oils or those containing additives. The rheometer calibration process—a professional-grade quality control standard used in automotive and aerospace industries—means that your 400 CPS oil is precisely calibrated to that specification, not merely approximated. Temperature stability is critical in RC racing: suspension that performs perfectly indoors in a climate-controlled environment may behave inconsistently outdoors in changing weather. This oil's temperature-stable formulation eliminates that variable, ensuring predictable damping characteristics whether you're racing early morning in cool conditions or during an afternoon session when track temperatures have risen. The drop-by-drop flip-top cap isn't merely a convenience feature—it's essential for precision tuning, where a single extra millilitre of oil can noticeably alter your RC truck's handling balance. Manufacturing and bottling in Europe, rather than sourcing pre-made product, allows Team Corally to maintain strict oversight of every batch, resulting in product consistency that budget-conscious retailers simply cannot match.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What viscosity shock oil should I use in my RC car? — Shock oil viscosity depends on your track conditions, suspension geometry, and desired handling characteristics. Thinner oils (100-200 CPS) provide softer, more responsive suspension, whilst thicker oils (600-1000 CPS) offer stiffer damping for high-speed tracks or weight-transfer-sensitive setups. The 400 CPS grade in this bottle sits in the mid-range, making it an excellent all-around choice for varied conditions. Many UK RC racers keep multiple viscosity grades on hand to fine-tune performance for different events or track surfaces.
- Is pure silicone shock oil better than other types? — Yes, 100% pure silicone is the industry standard for RC shock oils because it's thermally stable, chemically compatible with rubber seals, and maintains consistent viscosity across temperature variations. Lower-quality oils containing mineral bases or synthetic blends can degrade seals and provide inconsistent damping, particularly in the temperature-variable environment of UK racing.
- How long does a 60ml bottle last? — A 60ml bottle typically provides multiple shock refills depending on your shock size and how frequently you adjust viscosity. For a standard 1/10 RC car with four shocks, you'll get several complete oil changes, making this bottle excellent value for maintenance and experimentation.
- Can I mix different viscosity grades? — Whilst not recommended for competition tuning, experienced RC enthusiasts occasionally blend viscosities to achieve non-standard grades. For serious racing, however, it's better to commit to a single viscosity grade and adjust other suspension parameters instead.
- What makes the rheometer calibration important? — A rheometer is a precision instrument used to measure fluid viscosity at exact temperatures and shear rates. By calibrating each batch, Team Corally guarantees that every bottle of 400 CPS oil is precisely 400 CPS, not 385 or 415. This consistency is essential for competitive racing where suspension response repeatability is critical.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Beginners should start with the Corally shock oil range to properly maintain their RC vehicles. The 400 CPS grade is a safe starting point for most RC cars and trucks used for recreational bashing and casual racing. As you develop tuning skills, you can experiment with thinner or thicker grades.
- What is the difference between 400 CPS and other viscosity grades? — Lower viscosity oils (100-300 CPS) provide softer, more compliant suspension ideal for rough terrain or bumpy outdoor tracks. The 400 CPS grade offers moderate damping suitable for mixed conditions. Higher viscosity oils (500-1000 CPS) provide firmer suspension response, better for smooth tracks, high-speed racing, and precise setup tuning.
