Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 250 CPS is a premium suspension fluid designed for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand consistent performance and reliability from their shock absorbers. Whether you're a seasoned racer fine-tuning your competition rig or a weekend basher looking to maintain your ready-to-run RC car, this European-manufactured silicone oil delivers the precision and quality you need. This 60ml bottle of 250 CPS viscosity fluid represents the gold standard in shock oil formulation, manufactured and bottled right here in Europe to the highest specifications.

Team Corally's commitment to excellence shines through in every aspect of this product. Each production batch undergoes rigorous rheometer calibration to ensure consistent viscosity and quality from one batch to the next, eliminating the variability that can plague inferior shock oils. For RC enthusiasts in the UK and beyond, this means you can confidently upgrade your RC car's suspension performance knowing you're using a product backed by European engineering and manufacturing standards.

The 250 CPS viscosity grade sits in the mid-range of Corally's comprehensive lineup, making it suitable for a wide variety of RC vehicles and driving conditions. From off-road buggies and stadium trucks to touring cars and other chassis designs, finding the right shock oil viscosity is crucial for optimal handling, comfort and performance. This product gives you the flexibility to dial in your suspension setup precisely.

Key Features

  • Ultra Pure Silicone Formulation — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, ensuring maximum stability and longevity within your RC car's shock absorbers. Pure silicone resists breakdown from heat and friction far better than inferior oil formulations, meaning your suspension will maintain consistent damping characteristics throughout extended racing sessions and over many months of use.
  • Rheometer Calibrated — Every single production batch of Corally shock oil is tested using precision rheometer equipment to verify exact viscosity. This calibration process eliminates batch-to-batch variation, guaranteeing that your 250 CPS oil will perform identically to previous bottles you've purchased. This consistency is essential when you're dialling in suspension setups for competition or seeking predictable performance from your RC car.
  • 250 CPS Viscosity Grade — The 250 centiStokes rating places this oil in the moderate viscosity range, making it versatile across different RC vehicle types and driving styles. Whether you're driving on tarmac, carpet, dirt or mixed surfaces, this viscosity provides balanced damping that won't be too stiff or too soft for most applications.
  • Temperature Stable — Unlike cheaper shock oils that thin out in heat or thicken in cold conditions, Corally's ultra pure silicone maintains consistent viscosity across a wide temperature range. This temperature stability ensures your RC car's suspension performs the same whether you're racing in summer heat or winter cold, whether indoors under warm floodlights or outdoors in variable weather.
  • Drop-by-Drop Flip Top Cap — The precision flip-top bottle design allows controlled, measured dispensing of the shock oil. Rather than pouring and guessing, you can add the exact amount of oil you need with single drops, enabling precise tuning adjustments to your RC car's suspension without waste or spillage.
  • Viscosity Indication Label on Cap — The cap is clearly marked with the viscosity grade, ensuring you instantly know which oil is in each bottle. This simple but effective feature prevents mixing viscosity grades and helps you stay organised when maintaining multiple RC cars or experimenting with different suspension setups.
  • European Manufacture and Bottling — Being manufactured and bottled in Europe ensures quality control standards and consistency that far exceed products made elsewhere. You're buying a product created with European precision engineering rather than a generic commodity oil.
  • 60ml / 2oz Content — The generous 60ml bottle size provides sufficient shock oil to fill and top up multiple RC car shock absorbers, or to experiment with different viscosity grades without running out. The 2oz measurement also caters to RC enthusiasts who prefer imperial measurements.

Technical Performance

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 250 CPS represents the pinnacle of suspension fluid engineering for RC cars. With a viscosity rating of 250 centiStokes, this oil strikes an excellent balance between damping resistance and shock responsiveness. The pure silicone base ensures that the oil maintains its intended viscosity characteristics across temperature fluctuations, critical for RC vehicles driven in varying climate conditions throughout the UK. The rheometer calibration process employed by Team Corally during manufacturing guarantees that the 250 CPS rating is accurate to industry standards, measured in CST (centistoke) units. This precision matters enormously when you're tuning your RC car for competition or seeking predictable handling characteristics. The 60ml bottle format provides ample quantity for initial shock assembly and subsequent top-ups as oil naturally settles within the shock absorber chambers over time. The flip-top cap with drop-by-drop dispensing capability transforms suspension tuning from a guessing game into a precise science, allowing adjustment in increments as small as single drops. Whether you're running lightweight touring cars requiring minimal damping or heavier rock crawlers and monster trucks needing firmer suspension response, the 250 CPS grade accommodates a broad spectrum of RC vehicle applications. The temperature stability of ultra pure silicone means your RC car's suspension won't behave unpredictably when ambient conditions change, delivering the consistency demanded by serious RC enthusiasts.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does 250 CPS mean and how do I know if this is the right viscosity for my RC car? — CPS stands for centipoise, a measure of fluid viscosity or thickness. The 250 CPS rating means this oil has a specific thickness calibrated to industry standards. Lighter oils (100-150 CPS) offer less resistance and are suitable for vehicles needing responsive, quick-reacting suspension. Heavier oils (400-1000 CPS) provide greater damping resistance for cars requiring stiffer suspension. The 250 CPS grade represents a mid-range option suitable for most RC vehicle types including buggies, stadium trucks, touring cars and off-roaders. If your current setup feels too harsh, try a lighter oil; if it feels too soft and wallowy, move to a heavier viscosity. Corally's complete range means you can find the perfect grade through experimentation.
  • Why is pure silicone oil better than other shock oil formulations? — Pure silicone oil outperforms alternative formulations in several critical ways. Silicone resists thermal breakdown far better than mineral or synthetic blends, meaning your shock oil maintains its intended viscosity even during intense driving sessions when heat builds up. Silicone also has superior stability over time, resisting oxidation and degradation that can leave residue inside shock bodies. Additionally, silicone is more resistant to contamination and doesn't absorb moisture as readily as inferior oils, keeping your RC car's suspension clean and responsive.
  • How often should I change my RC car's shock oil? — Shock oil doesn't require regular replacement like engine oil in a full-size car, but you should inspect it periodically during routine maintenance. If the oil appears discoloured, cloudy, or contains visible debris or moisture, it's time to refresh it. Corally's ultra pure formulation resists degradation far better than cheap oils, meaning your suspension fluid will remain clean and consistent through hundreds of hours of driving. When you do change the oil, the 60ml bottle size means you'll have enough to completely refresh multiple shock absorbers.
  • Will this shock oil work in my existing RC car's shocks? — Yes, absolutely. This Corally shock oil is a universal suspension fluid compatible with virtually all RC car shock absorbers regardless of manufacturer, whether you run Traxxas, ARRMA, Losi, or any other RC brand. The 60ml format works equally well with sealed shock tubes and open designs. Simply drain old oil if replacing, or top up existing shocks using the precision flip-top cap.
  • Is the 250 CPS viscosity suitable for beginners? — Yes, the 250 CPS grade is an excellent choice for newcomers to RC car tuning. It represents a comfortable middle ground that works across diverse driving styles and vehicle types. Beginners can purchase this single viscosity grade and successfully run most ready-to-run RC cars without needing to experiment with multiple oil types. As you progress and develop your tuning skills, you may experiment with lighter or heavier grades, but 250 CPS will absolutely serve you well.
  • How does rheometer calibration benefit me as an RC car owner? — Rheometer calibration means Team Corally scientifically measures every batch to confirm it meets the stated 250 CPS specification. This translates directly to consistency: a bottle you buy today will perform identically to a bottle you purchased six months ago. When tuning your RC car's suspension, this reliability is invaluable. You can make setup changes with confidence, knowing that any performance differences result from your adjustments, not from inconsistent shock oil. Many budget brands skip this quality control step, leading to frustration when the same viscosity oil behaves differently between bottles.
  • Why is this shock oil manufactured in Europe? — European manufacture and bottling ensures adherence to strict quality standards and regulatory compliance. European production facilities invest in precision equipment like rheometers for viscosity testing, employ rigorous quality control procedures, and maintain consistency that mass-produced shock oils made in other regions often cannot match. By choosing European-made Corally shock oil, you're supporting manufacturing standards recognised worldwide for excellence.
  • Can I use this oil in both sealed and unsealed shocks? — Yes, Corally ultra pure silicone shock oil works perfectly in both sealed shock absorber designs and open configurations. Whether your RC car features sealed shock tubes with zero-leakage designs or traditional open shocks, this oil delivers consistent performance.
