Overview
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 250 CPS is an essential maintenance product for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision performance from their shock absorbers. Whether you're running a competitive RC buggy, a high-speed RC monster truck, or any other RC vehicle that relies on damping performance, this premium silicone shock oil is formulated to deliver consistent, predictable suspension behaviour in all conditions. Team Corally, a respected name in the RC hobby, has engineered this ultra-pure silicone formula specifically for shock absorber systems, ensuring your vehicle maintains optimal handling characteristics and responsiveness through every corner and jump.
This 150ml bottle of 250 cSt (centistoke) viscosity shock oil is manufactured to exacting standards, offering 100% pure silicone composition without contaminants or additives that could compromise performance. For RC car UK enthusiasts, whether you're a weekend basher enjoying casual driving or a serious competitor preparing your setup for race day, having the correct shock oil viscosity is fundamental to tuning your suspension geometry and achieving the precise handling balance your vehicle demands. The ultra-pure formulation means you can trust the consistency of your shocks from the first run to the last, with no degradation or separation of components.
Shock oil selection is one of the most underrated yet critically important aspects of RC vehicle tuning. Different viscosity grades—measured in cSt (centistokes)—directly affect how quickly your shock absorbers compress and rebound, which in turn influences your vehicle's cornering speed, stability over jumps, and overall predictability. The 250 cSt grade provided in this bottle represents a medium viscosity option, making it suitable for a wide range of driving styles and track conditions. Whether you're building a ready-to-run RC or fine-tuning an existing setup, this Corally shock oil gives you the control you need to achieve your ideal suspension feel.

Technical Performance
Shock oil viscosity is measured in centistokes (cSt), a standardised unit of kinematic viscosity that describes how quickly a liquid flows at a specific temperature. The 250 cSt grade in this Corally product represents the resistance to flow, which directly translates to damping characteristics in your shock absorbers. A higher cSt number means a thicker oil that resists compression and rebound more forcefully, resulting in a stiffer suspension response and higher resistance to bottoming out during hard landings. Conversely, lower viscosity oils allow faster shock movement and softer feel. The 250 cSt grade sits in the middle ground, making it versatile for various RC car platforms including buggies, truck platforms, and off-road vehicles commonly used in UK RC racing and recreational driving. The ultra-pure silicone composition means there are no additives or impurities to cloud the oil or cause inconsistent damping behaviour. This purity is crucial because any particles or chemical variations could create stiction (static friction between piston and rod) or cause the oil to break down under the repetitive compression and heating cycles that occur during driving sessions. Team Corally's manufacturing process ensures that the oil maintains its viscosity characteristics reliably across the temperature range you'll encounter in typical UK RC driving, from cool morning sessions to warmer afternoon runs, and even in heated indoor driving facilities. The bottle includes proper safety documentation (MSDS sheets available in multiple languages) and is formulated to be safe for handling during refilling and maintenance of your shock absorbers, making it suitable for modellers of all experience levels.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does 250 cSt viscosity mean and how do I know if it's right for my RC car? — The 250 cSt rating indicates the thickness of the oil measured in centistokes, a standard unit of viscosity. Higher numbers mean thicker oil with more damping resistance. The 250 cSt grade is a medium viscosity suitable for most RC vehicles and represents an excellent starting point if you're unsure of your shock oil specification. To determine the correct viscosity for your vehicle, consult your RC car's manual or check your current shock oil bottle to see what grade you're already running. If you want a softer suspension with faster shock response, you'd use a lower viscosity like 150 cSt; if you want stiffer damping for high-speed running or rough terrain, you'd try 350 cSt or higher. Many UK RC competitors keep multiple viscosity grades on hand to tune their setup for different track conditions.
- Is this shock oil suitable for beginners and casual RC car drivers? — Yes, absolutely. This Corally shock oil is ideal for anyone maintaining an RC car, whether you're just getting into the hobby or you've been running RC vehicles for years. The 250 cSt viscosity is a versatile middle-ground option that works well across most RC platforms. Beginners will find that using a quality shock oil helps their vehicle handle more predictably, making it easier to learn driving technique. The 150ml bottle is also perfectly sized for a beginner who might be learning how to refill shocks for the first time.
- Can I use this shock oil in any RC vehicle or does it only work with specific models? — This ultra-pure silicone shock oil is suitable for use in any RC vehicle that uses shock absorbers with oil, including RC buggies, RC monster trucks, RC crawler vehicles, and RC truggy platforms. The 250 cSt viscosity is a standard grade widely compatible across manufacturers. However, always check your specific vehicle's manual to confirm the recommended shock oil viscosity before use, as some competition vehicles may specify different grades. The ultra-pure silicone formula works universally with standard shock absorber designs used in modern RC cars.
- How often should I replace the shock oil in my RC car and how long does one 150ml bottle last? — Shock oil doesn't need to be replaced unless it becomes contaminated with dirt, water, or debris, or if it begins to separate or degrade. One 150ml bottle provides enough oil for multiple shock refills or to service an entire fleet of vehicles. A typical shock absorber might hold 2-5ml of oil depending on size, meaning one bottle could refill 30-75 shocks depending on shock size and how full you fill them. Most casual RC enthusiasts might use one 150ml bottle across an entire season of driving, whilst competitors doing frequent tuning or running multiple vehicles might go through bottles more quickly.
- What makes Corally shock oil different from cheaper alternatives? — Corally shock oils are manufactured to precise standards using 100% pure silicone without fillers or contaminants. This purity means the viscosity remains consistent and predictable across temperature changes and driving sessions, providing reliable damping characteristics. Cheaper or impure shock oils may contain particles or additives that create stiction, cause inconsistent damping, or break down over time, requiring more frequent replacement. Investing in quality shock oil from a recognised manufacturer like Team Corally means your suspension tuning stays effective and your RC vehicle handles predictably.
- Does this product include all the safety documentation required for responsible RC hobby use? — Yes, this Corally product includes comprehensive Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) available in English, German, Dutch, and French, ensuring you have proper safety information for handling, storage, and emergency procedures. The MSDS documentation confirms the product is safe for normal use by RC hobbyists whilst also providing guidance for professional or competitive users.
