Key Features
- Special Hardened Steel Construction — The pinion is manufactured from specially hardened steel, which provides exceptional toughness and durability compared to standard materials, ensuring the gear teeth resist wear and damage even under sustained high-load conditions during competitive racing or aggressive bashing.
- CNC Cut Teeth with Perfect Concentricity — Every tooth is precision-cut using specialised CNC gear machinery, guaranteeing perfect tooth shape and ultra-true running characteristics that eliminate vibration and ensure smooth, efficient power transmission throughout your RC vehicle's drivetrain.
- Ultra-Precise Manufacturing — Created on dedicated gear production equipment, this pinion features ultra-precise tooth shaping and concentricity that assures unparalleled performance consistency and reduces premature wear compared to lower-quality alternatives.
- Tooth Number Identification Marking — Each pinion is clearly marked with its tooth count, allowing you to quickly and easily identify the gear ratio you're using and select alternative ratios with confidence for different track conditions.
- M0.6 Module Compatibility — The M0.6 module specification ensures compatibility with all Tamiya RC cars and other vehicles specified for M0.6 gearing systems, making it a universal solution for this popular RC vehicle platform.
- Standard 3.17mm Shaft Diameter — The pinion fits all standard RC motor shafts measuring 3.17mm in diameter, which is the universal specification for Tamiya and compatible brushed and brushless RC motors, ensuring straightforward installation.
- Complete Gearing Range Available — Team Corally manufactures this pinion in multiple tooth counts, allowing you to select the perfect gear ratio to balance acceleration and top speed characteristics for your specific RC car UK track or terrain.
- European Manufacturing Quality — Manufactured to rigorous European standards, this pinion represents professional-grade quality that delivers consistent performance and reliability that justify the investment for serious RC enthusiasts.
Technical Performance
The Corally M0.6 Pinion represents the pinnacle of transmission component engineering for RC vehicles, combining premium materials with advanced manufacturing techniques to deliver exceptional performance reliability. The hardened steel material specification is critical to the pinion's ability to withstand the extreme stresses generated during acceleration, particularly in vehicles equipped with high-torque brushless motors or powerful brushed systems. The CNC manufacturing process ensures that every tooth profile is cut to precise tolerances, creating a gear that meshes perfectly with compatible spur gears to minimise backlash and maximise power transmission efficiency. This precision directly translates to improved handling characteristics, as unwanted gear noise and vibration are eliminated from the drivetrain. The 30-tooth count positions this pinion as a versatile ratio option suitable for various RC vehicles and track conditions, offering a balanced compromise between acceleration and top speed. With a gear length of 9.00mm and teeth width of 4.00mm, the pinion provides adequate surface area for power distribution whilst maintaining a lightweight profile that doesn't add excessive rotational mass to your motor shaft. Installation requires only a 1.5mm hex key for secure fastening, and the standard 3.17mm shaft diameter ensures compatibility with the vast majority of RC motor specifications found in Tamiya vehicles and compatible platforms across the UK RC market. Whether you're running a competitive track setup or weekend bashing scenario, this hardened steel pinion delivers the durability and performance consistency that separates quality RC equipment from budget alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the gear ratio difference between 30-tooth and other pinion sizes? — The tooth count directly affects your vehicle's acceleration and top speed characteristics; a 30-tooth pinion provides a balanced ratio suitable for most track conditions, whilst lower tooth counts increase top speed at the expense of acceleration, and higher tooth counts provide stronger acceleration but reduced maximum velocity.
- Will this pinion fit my Tamiya RC car? — Yes, this pinion is specifically designed for Tamiya vehicles and other RC cars equipped with M0.6 module gears and 3.17mm motor shafts, making it a direct replacement component for standard Tamiya transmission setups found throughout the UK RC hobby.
- Why is hardened steel better than aluminium for pinion gears? — Hardened steel provides significantly superior wear resistance and durability compared to aluminium, meaning the pinion teeth maintain their shape and precision over thousands of operating hours, delivering consistent performance throughout the gear's service life.
- How do I know which pinion tooth count to choose? — The choice depends on your specific track or terrain; larger tooth counts (higher numbers) favour acceleration and torque delivery, whilst smaller tooth counts favour top speed; experimentation and consultation with experienced RC enthusiasts in your local UK RC community will help identify the optimal ratio for your setup.
- What is CNC cutting and why does it matter? — CNC (Computer Numerical Control) cutting uses precision machinery to manufacture each tooth profile to exact specifications, eliminating the inconsistencies found in manually-produced or lower-quality gears, resulting in smoother operation and extended component lifespan.
- Is this pinion suitable for beginners? — Yes, this is an excellent spare component for RC car beginners, as it's a direct replacement part for Tamiya vehicles that perform reliably without requiring special knowledge; however, beginners should consult their vehicle's manual to understand gear ratio selection before changing from the original equipment.
- How often should I replace my pinion gear? — With proper maintenance and driving technique, a quality hardened steel pinion like this can operate for thousands of hours; replacement should be considered when you notice visible tooth wear, increased drivetrain noise, or when changing your vehicle's performance characteristics through gear ratio adjustment.
- What makes Team Corally pinions different from competitor products? — Team Corally's commitment to European manufacturing standards, specialised CNC gear machinery, and premium hardened steel material specification ensures superior concentricity and tooth precision compared to many competing products, translating to better performance consistency and longer operational life.
