Key Features
- Special Hardened Steel Construction — The pinion gear is manufactured from hardened steel, which significantly increases its resistance to wear, deformation and tooth stripping compared to standard steel or aluminium alternatives. This hardening process means the gear can withstand the demanding loads and stresses of competitive RC racing or intensive bashing without degrading performance.
- CNC Cut Teeth with Perfect Concentricity — Every tooth on this pinion is cut using precision CNC machinery, ensuring absolutely perfect tooth shaping and alignment. This delivers unparalleled concentricity, meaning the gear rotates with perfect balance and runs without wobbling, vibrations or runout issues that would otherwise cause drivetrain noise and power loss.
- Ultra-True Running for Vibration-Free Operation — The precision manufacturing process ensures the gear runs with ultra-true concentricity, eliminating vibrations that can compromise handling and performance. This smooth operation translates directly into better traction, improved control and more predictable RC car behaviour on the track.
- Module M0.6 Rating — This pinion is designed specifically for M0.6 module gearing systems, making it fully compatible with all cars equipped with M0.6 gears, particularly Tamiya RC car kits and platforms that use this standard gear sizing. This ensures perfect mesh engagement with your existing spur gears for optimal power transfer.
- 25 Tooth Configuration — The 25-tooth specification provides a specific gear ratio that can be paired with various spur gear options to achieve the perfect balance of acceleration and top speed for different track conditions and driving styles. This tooth count offers flexibility in tuning your RC car's performance characteristics.
- Fits 3.17mm Motor Shafts — The pinion is engineered to fit precisely onto 3.17mm diameter motor shafts, which is the standard shaft size on many direct-drive RC motors used in Tamiya and compatible RC car platforms. This ensures secure fitment and reliable power transmission without slipping or binding.
- 4mm Teeth Width — The 4mm width of each tooth provides substantial contact surface area with the spur gear, distributing loads evenly across the gear mesh and reducing pressure on individual teeth. This contributes to longer service life and more stable performance under demanding driving conditions.
- Compact 9mm Gear Length — The short 9mm overall length makes this pinion ideal for compact drivetrain layouts, fitting seamlessly into vehicles with tight motor compartments. The compact footprint doesn't compromise strength or performance, maintaining full concentricity and smooth operation.
- 1.5mm Hex Key Set Screw — The pinion uses a 1.5mm hex key for secure mounting, allowing quick and easy installation or removal without specialist tools. The hex key design prevents rounding and ensures reliable grip every time you need to service your drivetrain.
- Easy Tooth Identification Marking — Each pinion is clearly marked with its tooth number (25T in this case), making it straightforward to identify the gear at a glance. This is invaluable when managing multiple pinions for different gear ratio configurations or when building a spare parts kit.
- European Manufacturing Excellence — Made in Europe, this pinion reflects the quality standards and precision engineering that European manufacturers are renowned for. Team Corally's manufacturing facilities use state-of-the-art equipment and rigorous quality control processes, ensuring consistency across every unit produced.
Technical Performance
The Corally M0.6 Pinion Short Hardened Steel 25 Teeth delivers exceptional technical performance through its precision engineering and material science. The hardened steel construction provides a Rockwell hardness rating that far exceeds standard steel gears, allowing it to withstand significantly higher torque loads without deformation. With a module rating of M0.6 and 25 teeth, this pinion offers precise gear engagement when meshed with complementary spur gears in M0.6 configurations. The 3.17mm shaft diameter accommodates standard motor shafts found in brushless and brushed electric motors commonly used in Tamiya platform RC cars and compatible systems. The pinion's 4mm teeth width ensures robust load distribution across the gear mesh interface, whilst the 9mm total length optimises space efficiency without sacrificing structural integrity. The ultra-precise CNC cutting process maintains tolerances measured in fractions of millimetres, ensuring concentricity run-out is minimised to near-zero levels. This precision translates into smooth power delivery, reduced drivetrain noise signature, minimised energy loss through gear mesh friction, and extended component lifespan even under high-stress racing conditions. The gear is designed to work in harmony with corresponding M0.6 spur gears, creating a complete drivetrain system that delivers predictable performance across varying track surfaces and driving intensities. For competitive RC enthusiasts in the UK pursuing competitive advantage, this level of technical precision represents the difference between winning consistency and mediocre performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Corally M0.6 pinion 25T suitable for beginners? — Yes, this pinion is an excellent choice for beginners looking to replace or upgrade their existing drivetrain. The installation process is straightforward, requiring only a 1.5mm hex key for the set screw. However, beginners should understand that pinion gears are wear items that may need replacement over time, particularly with intensive use. This genuine Corally component ensures reliable performance and smooth operation as you develop your RC driving skills.
- What is the difference between this 25T pinion and other tooth counts? — Tooth count directly affects your RC car's gear ratio and performance characteristics. A 25-tooth pinion is considered a mid-range option that balances acceleration and top speed. Smaller tooth counts (like 23T or 24T) provide quicker acceleration but lower top speed, whilst larger tooth counts (like 26T or 27T) offer higher top speed but slower acceleration. The 25T spec suits most track conditions and driving styles, making it an excellent starting point for tuning.
- Will this pinion work with my Tamiya RC car? — The Corally C-71625 is explicitly designed to fit all cars equipped with M0.6 module gears, which includes most Tamiya RC car kits and platforms. To verify compatibility, check that your vehicle uses M0.6 gearing and that your motor shaft measures 3.17mm in diameter. If these specifications match, the pinion will install without modification.
- How long does a pinion gear last before replacement? — The service life of a pinion gear depends heavily on driving intensity, frequency of use, maintenance practices, and drivetrain condition. This hardened steel Corally pinion is engineered for extended durability compared to standard alternatives, potentially lasting hundreds of hours under normal use. Regular inspection of the teeth for wear or chipping, maintaining proper gear mesh, and ensuring your spur gear is in good condition will maximise pinion longevity.
- Can I mix this Corally pinion with other brand spur gears? — As long as the spur gear is also M0.6 module and in good condition, mixing brands is possible since the module specification ensures compatible tooth profiles. However, Team Corally recommends using genuine Corally matched gear sets for optimal performance, as this ensures consistent tooth quality and precise mesh characteristics throughout your drivetrain system.
- What tools do I need to install this pinion? — Installation requires minimal tools: a 1.5mm hex key for the set screw, and potentially a small screwdriver or gear puller if removing an existing pinion. Most RC enthusiasts already have these tools in their workshop. The installation process takes just a few minutes once you understand the basic procedure.
- How does CNC cut tooth precision improve performance? — CNC cut teeth are cut by computer-controlled machinery to tolerances measured in hundredths of millimetres, ensuring every tooth has identical geometry and spacing. This precision eliminates the vibration, noise, and efficiency losses associated with hand-cut or less precisely manufactured gears. The result is smoother power delivery, better traction, and more predictable RC car handling on track.
